This location is a perfect example of why the government cant be trusted to run any efficient operation. I would give them ZERO stars, if that were possible. From "lost" mail to stolen items to ignoramuses who cant understand what "customer will pick up held mail" means, to rude carriers who hate their jobs and throw their cigarette butts in our yard to throwing our mail on the ground next to a busy highway and then driving off or to delivering our mail to the wrong address again and again to lame excuses / unbelievable excuses to an unreliable tracking system, this location reaches new lows of customer service and efficiency. When ever possible, I only use UPS (never a problem) or Fed Ex (ditto). Update - 18 Jan 16 Received an email notice from Amazon that delivery was attempted for a package on Saturday, 16 Jan 16 and that USPS "left a note" at 0916. No notice was left and no one came to deliver a package at our home. Instructions said to go to local post office to retrieve package. Went to Cumming location that afternoon...no package available, no information available. Was told to "come back on Monday and try to speak with your carrier". Monday, of course, is a Federal holiday and the office is closed. It just keeps getting more and more bizarre, dealing with this location.

My wife just came back from getting her passport processed and raved about how professional and expedient the service was. She said that the representative was extremely nice and the entire experience was very organized. This post office doesnt make appointments but allows walk-ins which is wonderful considering the Alpharetta USPS earliest passport appointment was November 15th and our trip starts November 14th. Anyone complaining about the wait should consider arriving earlier than 9am and have all of their required documents and ID, along with an application that has already been filled out. The wait is due to other patrons not having the proper documentation - not the passport/postal representatives processing the information. All of the rules, criteria, applications, and directions can be found online with the US passport office at travel.state.gov. Just Google it. My wife was in and out within 45 minutes due to being properly prepared. She also said that although it was a wet and dreary day outside, the postal employees had smiles on their faces. Seems to me that you get what you give. Maybe extending a nice attitude and smile first will set the scene for your experience. We will continue to use this location due to great customer service in lieu of locations closer to our home.

my mail was being stolen by the postal delivery person assigned to our neighborhood. This was at the time income tax checks and my sons graduation gifts were sent to us. The post office manager claims the worker was keeping our mail and would not return it,but they couldnt do anything about it. I had a hold put on our mail after 3months of no mail. went to pick up at PO but they claim that the delivery worker had taken and kept it. We made a police report do to Identity theft at that time, but law enforcement was unable to do anything except talk the PO manager to let us have future mail after 7months of stolen mail and identity theft. They were unable to convince postal workers to return even 1 piece of mail from that 7 months. Mail theft is NOT illegal in Forsyth county GA. This is not an isolated incident and most likely will continue through this post office from what Ive been told.

I can see why the USPS is losing money and people complain so much about poor service. I received an email tonight about 7:00pm notifying me that 2 packages I need for tomorrow morning (Monday) will be delivered tonight by 8pm. At 8:05pm I receive another email letting me know that the carrier showed up but did not deliver because "RECEPTACLE WAS BLOCKED!" Well, 5940 Asby Way was blocked by my neighbors white truck. 5950, MY HOUSE, was completely open and a blind person can see the number on the mailbox because a year ago I touched up the numbers with florescent paint. I called the Post Office and Juanita tells me that "it is dark outside, so he/she probably did not see it!" Well, WHY BOTHER DELIVERING IF THE CARRIER CANNOT SEE IN THE DARK?!!! Come on! If you are going to do the job and charge so much for postage, at least do the job right! Michael A. Corujo, Cumming, GA

We have a business on the postal route of this post office a month ago we did not receive our mail for a week. We was told it was because of a new postal driver not knowing the route to good. We had to drive up to the post office just to get our mail. Today the post office did not run. I called up there to see if maybe there was a holiday I did not know about. At first they told me we did not have any mail is why the postal driver did not come by. I told the lady on the phone that we had a bunch of mail that needed to go out. Then she says that they are not required to pick it up if we do not have any mail. I have never seen a post office like this or heard of one. But it messes up the flow of our business if we do not have mail going out or coming in. They did not act like they cared to much about the situation. Wish I knew of a way to take care of this problem

Not a good experience at all. Ive lived in Cumming for a year and we consistently (daily) get multiple pieces of our neighbors mail, even packages. For people all over our street and the next street over! I understand the occasional mix up, but somebody is clearly not paying attention. I wish there was another company we could get our regular mail through. We also had a package of ours delivered incorrectly, took 2-2.5 weeks to resolve, daily phone calls with the promise of an update phone call at the end of the day which never happened, and then the person who incorrectly received the package was kind enough to bring it over. We are so thankful for that. The post office was no help. They need to work on accuracy, and when mistakes do happen, they need to develop a way to fix them.

I have no problems with staff or use of post office at all, but trying to park is outrageous. There has been times I was able to park and nobody there to actually use the mailing area because cant park. They should move passports to another location completely since have gone in numerous times and line is out the side door. Between no parking because of everybody trying to get passport and parents parking there when school is letting out forget about it. The parents need to park at school with everyone else and stop taking up valuable space at post office, all to save not wanting to be in traffic over there. Those of us who need to check po boxes or get to mail counter have to suffer and hope we get lucky on the right day

Went there this morning to get the passport applications done for our two children. This was around 10:15 am where they had long line and people waiting in the queue. Come to find out that they were handing out make-shift numbers and they cut off everyone after # 35. Kind of makes the whole 9 am - 3 p.m time for walk-in passport applications, pointless. The reason they gave was that they had one clerk on staff and this was all they could handle. Do yourself a favor, take the passport pictures before hand, and go down the street to Forsyth Probate court for passport application acceptance. Unlike the USPS, even though I went around shortly before 3 pm (3:30 pm is their cut-off), they still took us in.
