I had no choice but to post a review for this Aamco shop on Cobb Parkway in Marietta. I am a senior in high school and depend on my car for so many things. It gets me and my friend to and from school each day as well as enabling me to visit colleges I am applying to. My car is pretty old, and well, it is kind of a sucky looking car. It is a 1999 Ford sedan with just about 200,000 miles on it. I cant afford a new car and my parents cant afford to buy me one. Like I have come to depend on this car, I have come to depend on the Aamco to keep it going. They have kept this car and me running. They have no nonsense accurate diagnosis. They dont scratch their heads and replace parts with their fingers crossed behind their backs hoping the parts they "throw" at the car fix the problem like the other shop I used to go to. What they have done has worked and I trust them completely and that is important to me. I could be at a disadvantage being a girl at Aamco, but after two years plus of them doing work on my car, I trust them completely. They have fixed my transmission, and over the past two years or so have also replaced the radiator, water pump, and have fixed problems with the check engine light. They are good, thats all I can say. They will keep fixing this car and hopefully will continue to maintain the next car I get - and hopefully that will be new. Thanks Aamco

over $2,500 for a rebuild - transmission starts slipping immediately, bring back, fixed. Less than 15K miles later, transmission breaks again, of course nothing under warranty, now over $3K. Less than 10K miles later, transmission breaks again. Again after picking up when its "fixed", its slipping again. This time there wasnt enough fluid put back in. At 28K miles on first rebuild, reverse breaks. These folks recommend I get another full rebuild, but theyll charge me $2,500 again. I go across the street, and the tech tells me he can easily get to the broken snap ring, replace the drum, and get me all fixed up for less than 1/3 of what these folks were going to charge me. My gut tells me they know theyve had less than stellar technicians in the past. The owner will talk your ear off about how they did everything right, warranty companies are bad, and they stand behind their work. Im not too terribly bright, so I gave them not one, not two, but three chances to make this right, and all I received were 3 minute long voice mails on why they did me right the first time, and its okay that I need to pay them another $2,500. Save yourself some frustration, time, and money and go see the nice folks right down the street from them!

Mechanics are usually my least favorite type of service provider as I have had several untrustworthy experiences in the past (i.e. Sears Automotive Cumberland). This particular mechanic however, has shed a new light on the automotive industry in terms of customer service and trust. Mark, the owner of this Maaco location, is a straight forward and exceptional person. I had an issue with my suv and prior to commencement of repair Mark called and explained the issue in detail. Im not saavy with automotive parts, etc., but Mark explained the issue and solution in terms that the avg. person would understand. It was an expensive (relatively speaking) repair and was needed however I didnt feel pressured by Mark. His staff is well trained as well. The dropoff of my suv was smooth and welcoming. The pickup was even better. You would think pickup wouldnt be as pleasant having to pay thousands of dollars when you pick up your car from the shop, but the conversation I had with Mark about work ethic, opinions on mechanics, etc. made it an easy going process. BTW, no Mark wasnt bad mouthing other mechanics..I monopolized that part of the convo. Another BTW: Kudos to Cobb Galleria Automotive as another trustworthy mechanic. Good Job Guys!

My car was diagnosed with a transmission problem by a major car dealership, who was seeking to get large amounts of money from me. The dealership warned me that if they examined the transmission for problems and found problems that were not covered under my extended warranty or was unable to determine an issue, that I would be charged a huge amount of money. After visiting several dealerships, by instinct I went to Aamco, Cobb Pkwy-Marietta, and asked them to evaluate the condition of my vehicle. The staff took the time to listened to my story, explained their processes, and evaluated the vehicle. These transmission professionals found no issues reflecting transmission problems. As a matter of fact, based on their experience...they indicated the car is in great condition. If not for the honesty of these gentlemen, I would have had to spend an large amount of money for unnecessary repairs. I am very thankful to them. Because I feared my car had major issues, I wasnt comfortable with the vehicle and delayed upgrades expecting mechanical failure. Today I am happy and excited to make the changes I dreamed of making to my vehicle. I highly recommend this Aamco location.

Great shop have been there 2 times in the last several years. Neither time resulted in a major transmission repair and also was done at no charge. Each time the shops I visited first were Stumped as to the problem both saying had to buy a transmission. The most recent 2nd visit was a result of a dealer telling me that I needed a new transmission in a Toyota Tundra. Which is unusual for that vehicle. Left it with them got a call with the GREAT NEWS no repair needed on the transmission, but my U Joints in the rear end were shot and the reason for the excessive vibration vs. the transmission as a Toyota Dealer believed I needed?? Thanks to Mark and the guys at Aamco in Marietta I DID NOT have to buy a transmission on either one of the vehicles they evaluated and worked on. Mark even referred me to a shop that did that type of repair because his shop does not work on driveshafts. He sent me to Driveshaft Specialists in Marietta. Great Shop Fixed it with no problem truck runs like its brand new again. Russell at Driveshaft saved the Day. Thanks Guys !!! Robert

I brought my 99 Honda Accord becuz transmission was slipping when car got hot after driving from fayetteville. The customer service was exceptional and I was treated great however the cost for repair was also exceptionally high. They quoted me almost $3000 to rebuild my transmission not including any parts that would need to be replaced. The is despite the fact that there wasnt any codes so they determined it must be internal. I brand new transmission from AutoZone would be only $1800. I resolved my issue after trying another transmission location that wanted $1600 that I couldnt afford. So I did it myself by starting with basics. I replaced my thermostat and realized that my fan was not working if I did not run the AC or Heat so the engine would overheat which in turn affected the shifting of the transmission. This is a common problem with older model Honda and they actually have a cooler module that you can have attached to prevent overheating. Long story short there was absolutely nothing wrong with my transmission but they wanted to get that money.
