I am a single mother with not a whole lot of money to spare so when my transmission started acting up i was devestated. I took my car to Amco in lake city Ga thinking i was going to get a quote on what was wrong with my car. I took it their talked to a man by the name of Denny he was very quick and rude with me from the begining so i guess that should of been a warning but im just thinking i need my car fixed what ever. After a few days of my car being their he calls be bk with a quote of 1,600 to rebuild my transmission ..Cool im thinking thats not bad . He tells me he going to need atleast 600 down to start the work fine (good faith money as he says) ... I take him 600 dollars a few days later thinking i should be driving in a couple of days. Then he calls me back a few days later nameing all these different things that he says needs to be replaced and know my 1,600 has all of a sudden jumped to 3,400 . so i tell him thats ok ill just come and get my car and take it some where else i can buy a transmission for less than that . so he goes on and on on why i shouldnt do that and hes on my side and how it would be bad for me to by a transmission finally i hung the phone up in his face because he kept over talking me like i was a child and wouldnt let me get a word in about MY CAR . I go to pick my car up thinking im going to get atleast some of my money back and he tells me they charge 950 to reassemble my car back together ..smmfh and if i dont pay it i cant get my car back. So of course i pays it then ask well when will my car be done mind u tis is tues he tells me it wont be done tell saturday Your car is no different from eveyone else its not going to push to the front of the line ... By this time im ready to hurt this big gumpy white man. I am a very relax person that doesnt like confrontation but this right here didnt make any sense to me .. so if u dont want to lose any money DONT GO TO AMCO LAKE CITY GA and i will always tell anyone that mentions there name if i ride by that place they will always get a bad reveiw from me I literally feel like i took 900 dollars and threw it in the trash ...SMMFH

Honest! Trustworthy! and Exceptional Customer Service!!!!! A few weeks ago another company completed a major rear end repair on my 2007 Dodge Nitro I was told that my car was not shifting out of 1st gear and that the transmission is what may have caused my rear end problems. I drove the car and did notice a slight pull so I took my car to a local transmission shop that came highly recommended by the mechanic and to say the least the customer service was subpar at best, I was told that I could leave my car with them but they had no idea when they would be able to take a look at it. After a few days I gave up on them and called Aamco. I must admit I am a bit skeptical when it comes to “big brand” auto repair companies. I called the Fayetteville location first and the customer service was Awesome! After realizing the Morrow GA location was closer to my home I called and spoke with Rodney, he listened to everything I had to say and I felt comfortable having my car towed to his location. Rodney was so professional, he followed up with me and kept me updated each step of the way. After the initial inspection the tech could not find anything wrong, so I gave permission to perform an extensive diagnostic after 2 days of running test Rodney called to inform me that my transmission was A-OK but, I should have the 1st mechanic take a look at the rear end again. I am so thankful! Rodney is a gem! He could have easily sold me on some bogus repairs but he remained honest and true!! He even called me to follow up a few days after I pick up my car! Awesome!! Bad experience!!!! I heard a commercial on the radio about free inspection on why your check engine light is on. I decided to take it to this AAMCO on Jonesboro Road. I told the Peter that Auto Zone said it was the Knock sensor. Peter tell me that their meter dont do a check like their machine. So AAMCO on Jonesboro Road did their Free test and said they it is showing up as a knock sensor. But they needed to do more test. Check the wiring and the knock sensor. But this is not (FREE). And it would require another two hours. At that time I told Peter that Auto Zone stated that I had two knock sensors. And he said it only had one. Me thinking he knew what he was talking about. I said ok. To make a long story short. I was talking to a guy that knows nothing about knock sensors. And charged me $195 for two hours of work. And still come back and said that I need to change the knock sensor. I knew this already for FREE. From Auto Zone and AAMCO. Dont trust the FREE inspection. And to AAMCO, dont get someone to do Customer Service if the dont know their job.

I took my truck in a year and half ago to have my transmission rebuilt. Now my transmission has failed. They are trying to charge me 1400-1800 to fix it. When Denny was there he bs me to the tune of about 2300 to get a rebuilt transmission. Then tried to upsale me an additional warranty. Then I took my truck back after the transmission acted up and threw a code. Then told me they didnt know what was wrong or what the code was I had to pay 175 for them to tell me they didnt know what was wrong. They told me they would have to take my transmission out and apart to see what was wrong and still couldnt give me a bottom dollar figure as to how much it would cost to get it fixed. So I went and got my truck and took it to Lake City Transmission and they immediately told me what was wrong and exactly how much it would be to get it fixed. They even gave me a 1 year warranty with unlimited mileage. So my advice is dont take you vehicle here to have work done on it. Take your vehicle to Lake City Transmission a great family owned company to deal with

I took my car to Aamco in Lake City, Ga., where I was told my transmission was shot & it would be $3400.00 to completely rebuild/repair. That was July 2012. My transmission went out with the same problem July 2014. Now a brand new crate transmission from GM would have cost me $2400.00 & came with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty (Oh how I wish I had gone that route). Aamco $3400.00 & a 12 month warranty. As it stands right now, no warranty past 12 months & Aamco said it would be $1800.00 minimum to go into it to see whats wrong. Whats wrong with this picture. Aamco didnt seem too interested in doing anything after I spent my $3400.00, so I think Ill take any additional money where people stand behind their work & try to help a customer that wants nothing more than a service provider to stand behind their work. I need my car running, I need help.
