My son was in the 2 and 3 class at this facility and after a few weeks I withdrew him. The staff couldnt be bothered with looking up from their desk in the morning at drop off time and the door leading to the classrooms is never locked, even though you use a thumbprint to sign them in. His morning teacher Mercedes was very nice and sweet to him, he took to her quickly. I had so many problems with this daycare from the beginning. He was bitten by another child in the 2 room and the teacher didnt notice (I know my child articulates when he has an injury), I had to find out on my own at home and he said this child hits him every day. They did accommodate by moving him up to the 3 classroom since he was turning 3 in a few days. The 2 room was without ventilation for almost a whole week and it was stifling, no ventilation at all whatsoever and they made excuses why they couldnt ventilate it. Theres one violation right there, not to mention his blanket being tossed on the floor of the storage closet when there are plenty of cubbies available, also a violation. The facility always had a smell of old diapers and he would come home with that smell on his clothing and hed be filthy every day. Black grime under his nails, dirty face, arms, and hands, and the 3 classroom was always a disaster. I dont think they ever made the children clean up their messes. Grime on the floor, mop buckets sitting around, crumbs on the tables. It looked awful every day but the teacher said she works in organized chaos cause she has multiple children of her own. Thats great for your home but not for a place that is supposed to be teaching these kids to clean up after themselves. The only shaded area for the children to play in (for his age group) had no toys outside or anything stimulating, (which is required according to Georgia childcare standards) just a fenced in patch of grass with mosquitos eating my child alive. I counted 20 bites. They have daily sheets theyre supposed to fill out and I had to ask almost every day for the entire sheet to be filled out and their reason is that it is too time consuming, despite being told during my tour that they fill them out for the parents to have. It was like pulling teeth to get information about his day and when I would ask specific questions I was usually answered with "I dont know, I wasnt here at that time". AM teachers clearly are not communicating with PM teachers. The final straw for me was when my mother went to pick him up and his teacher handed her underwear with feces on them wearing no gloves and the underwear not in a plastic bag (another violation) and all the director could say was that the teacher told me he had an accident and she doesnt know why they werent in the bag. She never put them in a plastic bag, just in the front pocket of his backpack where his toys were. No wonder he came home with conjunctivitis. If youre looking for a daycare that is dedicated to the safety, education, well-being and develoment if your child do not bring them here. They seem to have very low standards and are not concerned with having multiple violations of Georgia Bright from the Start or OSHA. I suggest looking up what they have been cited for if youre thinking of bringing your child here. Weve been to a few different daycares trying to find the right one and I have never encountered so many problems ever. Good luck. We switched to a facility in Athens and he starts Monday, my mother was so disgusted and frustrated with the happenings at this place she paid the withdraw fee to avoid him having to stay another week. It is THAT BAD.

My son attended after school care here for 2 years with minor incidents. So, when it was time to enroll my infant daughter in full-time care I thought this was the place. She was there about 1 month before I pulled her out. First, I noticed that the care givers were saving the milk (I pumped and brought my own) between feedings and reusing the bottles until it was finished no matter how long it was between feedings. My issue was resloved, but what about the parents who relied on the daycare for formula. How would they know if their baby was getting fresh milk? Next, the other teachers/classrooms would have "field trips" to the infant room. This exposes the infants to all kinds of un-necessary things. My daughter had strep throat at 3 1/2 months old. Her pediatrician said this was unusual and tested her twice. Now, no one can prove she caught it there, but theres a significant chance. The third major incident in the month we were there was the final straw. I was dropping my daughter off one early morning. Three teachers gathered around the changing table to eat their breakfast and talk. As I laid my daughter in her crib, the baby next to her began to cry. The teachers paid him no attention. His cries grew louder and I looked over into his crib to find his blanket up around his head. I pulled his blanket from around his face and informed the teachers. They barely acknowledged me. That was it. We were out of there.

My son attended daycare and pre-k at this location when it was Childrens Friend. His teachers were very informative of his daily behaviors and incidents. He graduated pre-k and loved that school. When his sister was old enough to attend pre-k in 2015, she had my sons old teacher assistant as her teacher. While management and staff had changed, there are still a few employees that have been there for years and I trust them. My daughter loved her teacher and wishes that she could go back there.
