If I could break it out, I would give PODS 1-star for dealing with their customer service and 5-stars for their maintenance/repair person. The POD was delivered when expected and placed on the driveway correctly. It was not locked, just closed. Movers came and loaded and when they went to lock it discovered that the lock wasnt correctly placed so there was a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor of the container. The movers explained that I needed to contact PODS to fix it because there was the chance of water getting into the POD and ruining my furniture. I called PODS to explain the problem. Their customer service people out of Florida were completely unhelpful. They wouldnt sell me any more insurance in the event of damage, they wouldnt agree to send a fully functioning POD and pay for it to be loaded, they wouldnt let me speak to anyone in Chicago, they wouldnt let me speak to a supervisor, they wouldnt give me contact information for anyone in Chicago, and they wouldnt send me an email documenting the problem. They wanted me to wait for a phone call. I wasnt having that and wouldnt get off the phone until they could get me someone to speak to who could actually do something. An hour and a half later, I finally spoke to a supervisor and got his direct number. At that point, I was willing to wait for him to resolve the issue. He had someone call to say they were sending someone out to fix the door. Roberto Mendez and his assistant came out and fixed the door within 30 minutes. They drilled a new hole for the lock to latch properly. Now, why it took an hour and a half for someone in customer service to actually provide helpful service is a mystery. Instead, the rep argued and said there was nothing she could do and I would just need to wait. In the end, they came out and fixed the door. All they needed to do was to take responsibility for their defective door and agree to fix it from the outset, since that was clearly something they were able to do. In the future, PODS would benefit from providing the service and materials they contract for instead of trying to argue their way out of delivering fully functioning storage containers. "Yes, maam, well send someone out right away to repair the door," should have been the answer from the get go and then they would have a 5-star review.

I wouldnt recommend PODS, and let me tell you why. I rented two storage containers for my move, both of which were dropped off on time at my new home. I scheduled them both to be picked up on June 21. The driver picked up the first on time, and the driver told me he would be back shortly, but he never returned. I called to find out what was going on and was told Id have to schedule another pick up, a week later. The second pick up date rolled around, PODS never came. I called again and was told I was never scheduled and the soonest they could come out was ten days later. Again, no one came. I called back yet again, because the POD blocking access to my garage was becoming a problem. I was told AGAIN that not only was I again not scheduled, not only was it going to be another week, but they were still charging me for the PODs use. I was also told there was no supervisor to help me and Id have to wait... DO NOT USE PODS

We were remodeling our entire first floor and moved all of our furniture and kitchen into a POD in our driveway. The process for both delivery and pick-up could not have been easier. Price seemed to be reasonable. Unit kept everything clean and dry until we were ready to move it back in the house again. If I had to do it over again, I would definitely use PODS again.
