Currently having an experience where Planes has failed every step of the way and we are still 5 days from moving. All of the information shared with us by our salesman was factually incorrect and misleading. Our relocation counselor, Jeanie, has stated to us that the salesman has been making statements and comments that are incorrect, yet instead of apologizing and resolving, puts both the additional costs and blame on us or others instead of taking responsibility. Some simple examples: We were told wed know when the movers would be arriving a week ahead of time. Relocation counselor says we wont know until the day before. We were told wed know the date of when our movers would be delivering our items at our new home. Relocation counselor says that they will give a date range, which will be given to us after pick-up. We are told that boxes will be dropped off. Relocation counselor says we have to go to Aurora (live in the city of Chicago) to get boxes. Then are told movers will bring some boxes on moving day. We are told the movers will pack and move everything. Nope. Relocation counselor says we have to box everything on the walls and elsewhere unless we want some to pay some more fees. Essentially they just pick and carry. We call to try to get some information on our pick-up and delivery and are actually told that our pick-up will be the first for the truck on July 13 and that truck is then going to Wisconsin on July 14, Ohio on July 15 and then heading to Michigan (where we are moving) on July 16 to begin delivering items with ours being dropped off last. We ask if July 17 could be the expected drop-off date and our relocation counselor says "Our Operations Department has advised that we would need to charge $400 additional on your move in order to delay your delivery window beginning on July 17 instead of July 14. . . I am at their mercy" What?? So delivery wouldnt even happen until the 17th with the current schedule but to change our delivery window to start on July 17, without confirmation it will be delivered that day, we have to pay another $400? My wife and I are educated, hard-working people who both handle clients in customer service roles. It is astounding to us how Planes repeatedly fails and we are stuck with the consequences. This whole process has been a mess and I cant think of any other word to describe this company other than UNETHICAL. Bottom line: false promises, false expectations and being nickeled and dimed at every turn. Though they may offer competitive rates, Id make sure that if you decided to use them, every item stated by your salesman is documented and agreed to in writing. After every special fee, extra charge and the like that is continuing to be added onto your bill, the rates (and without a doubt the overall customer experience) are likely to be better elsewhere.

Buehler Moving Companies

I am using these guys for a move that I have in Great Lakes, IL. Its actually on the Military Base so there is high security clearance and all of the movers have to be background checked. They jumped through all of the hoops necessary to get onto the base and go over the moving scope with my client so that we could get pricing back to the corporate office right away. They really made everything a lot easier on the client because they had good clean movers with good clean backgrounds. They do a really good job and every time I use them, they never let me down. I highly recommend them for any moving you may need done in Chicago.

Planes broke items and despite having a full replacement value no-BS deal, they refused to pay me back for the items they broke. The inexpensive items they broke (punched a hole through ikea furniture, which is impressive, and cutting an appliance cover in half) they offered to pay for but the black walnut picture frame I made myself from walnut stock my grandmother kept in the family is broken into pieces and my fiancees bicycle rims are bent beyond salvage, and they claim they wont replace it because it "still rolls."

Ive never hired a moving company before because I had heard so many bad stories.. But this was the best experience I could have hoped for. When they picked up the furniture I was shipping to my new home they were very careful and respectful of my home and belongings . When they delivered the furniture it was the same thing. Everything went better than I had hoped and I am completely satisfied with the experience from beginning to the end. Thanks Planes!

I would definitely recommend this company to a friend. All of the people involved with the process were friendly, especially the two gentlemen who delivered my things at our new location. Nothing was damaged in the process, not even my most delicate glassware (which I was worried about due to my own last-minute packing). Overall, would use this company again.

It was mostly good. The driver really cared about my knowing what was going on with the move. I am having some trouble finding things, the labelling could have been much clearer. The unloaded stacked some very heavy boxes making it difficult to unpack. I am still unpacking, so its difficult to make a complete description of the complete results of the move.
