I was in need of a hair cut after not cutting it over a year (I was growing out a pixie cut), so I decided to give this salon a try (a friend recommended I go in with Samantha, but she was not available) I called to see if they had any openings and was scheduled with the hair stylist Courtney, who I was told is also the manager of the salon. I mean I thought I would be in good hands knowing I was with the manager. I was WRONG. When I first arrived she was not ready for me, and I was told to look around the store, which was totally fine. After 15 minutes of waiting she was finally ready. I sat down in the chair and I explained to her that I was not looking to take off any major length, since I was trying to grow it out, and I just wanted her to trim my split ends and touch-up my layers. She convinced me to get a deep conditioner that would only be left in for 8 minutes (I thought deep conditioner treatments were meant to stay in longer), I gave in because I knew my hair needed it anyway. After getting the treatment she started cutting away. The promotion for that week was $30 hair cut and style for new customers, after she finished cutting it, all she did was blow dry my hair (it wasnt even fully dried), I mean I thought styling was at least making it look nice? An employee came to the chair telling her that the manager from the Ulta salon in Naperville was on the phone. She went to go answer it and I over heard that someone was in the Naperville salon complaining about services that they had gotten by Courtney the day before. She then gave me a paper that had a barcode and the total, it read $51. I didnt understand where the extra 3 dollars were coming from since the haircut was supposed to be $30 and the treatment $18. I figured it was just the taxes. I realized once I got to my car that she didnt texturize it or thin it out (my hair is very thick). I had a final within the hour, so after class I went back for her to fix it. I should of never went back to her! She cut WAY too much off the front. I honestly dont know what she did. It was a nightmare. I noticed it when I got home and I didnt know what to do. The next day I went back to report this and speak to a manager. I went in and approached the manager that was at the register. I showed her my cut and I got a weird look from her, she asked who had cut my hair and said hold on. The next thing I see is the manager and Courtney walking my way. Courtney asked what was wrong and basically told me that she did see where she could "texturize" it more. WHAT?! Texturize it more?! We went back to her station and all she did was deny, deny, deny. She then went on to blame the condition of my hair? I know what damaged hair looks like, and my hair is not damaged. Yes the ends where dry and split, but that does not mean you have to give me a haircut from hell. Not only did she not own up to it, I was getting the dirtiest looks from her co-workers. After trying to explain to her that she had ruined my hair, and almost crying she went to get the "manager" and gave me the option for a refund, and then went on to tell me that she understood but then tried to explain that it wasnt "That bad." What not that bad? I took the refund and ran out of there! I couldnt believe it. I went to another stylist right after and she explained to me that she indeed did mess up badly. She also told me that she probably wasnt paying attention to what she was cutting because it was a poor cut. The stylist was thankfully able to fix it without taking too much more length off. Do not let Courtney touch your hair, it was a nightmare. This Ulta will never get a penny from me, Id rather waste the gas driving to Naperville then support this establishment.

I almost never get my hair done (I maybe get it cut once every year), but I have really been wanting to lighten my hair for months and I finally decided to splurge and spend the money on it. I had gotten my hair cut elsewhere a couple days before and hated both the cut and the experience so I decided to try Ulta based on a friends suggestion. It was SO worth the extra money. CORTNEY IS AWESOME! I came in not exactly knowing what I wanted, just that I wanted it lighter. She took the idea and ran with it and suggested a balayage, which ended up being perfect for me! Not only was it perfect, but the whole experience was so enjoyable because Cortney is clearly incredibly passionate. She kept talking about how much she loves doing balayages and raving to both me and the other stylists about how good it looked even before she had finished, which made me feel so positive before I could even see it. She was even able to fix the cut I had gotten previously, even though all I could really tell her was that it didnt FEEL right. She somehow knew exactly how to fix it! My only regret is not leaving a larger tip (again, I never get my hair done so I had to calculate the tip really quickly at the checkout and I think she deserved much more than I gave her)... but I will definitely go back to Cortney the next time I am in town and I will make sure to do so!

Stay far away from this place! In less than 10 weeks I spent $600.00 at this place with the Stylist "Courtney" !! I came in there for Hair Color and all along she was putting on a Demi Color for a hard to color gray when all along it was constantly washing out just to get me to come back in for more services weeks later....selling me more and more services totaling more and more money!!!! The amounts were tremendous...!!! Refused to be honest and put on a permanent color when that is what was really needed for my hair type and continued to lie about what products were being used. They are under pressure to sell services to there customers that it doesnt matter what you want or need its all about how much money they can make off of you. Be careful to check for there hidden charges. They will charge you for there special "chemistry treatments" or "conditioning treatments"...carefully putting them in there quotes without you asking for them so make sure you ask for a breakdown otherwise they will slip them in and assume they have a right to your wallet. My advise.....do not use Ulta all together...they do not push for "permanent color". They are all about "shades eq" and "demis" which will wash right out. I have never been so upset! This stylist has ruined my hair!

I was looking for lipstick, since i couldnt find it i was looking for someone to help me. Of course no one was there for 5 min, so i waited. When lady finally came to me, she went to check if they have in stock. So i waited for like 15 min like an idiot. Other lady came and chat with me about my shoes and went. She came again and asked me did first lady checked for me and when i said no, she went to see where is she. So she came back again and told me that first lady thought that she was with me but she didnt check if they have it or not. I was confused, but i waited again. When she finally came back and told me that they dont have it, she tried to find similar and gave me another brand. Ok, i wanted to try it and she gave me some tool for mascara and put lipstick on it and gave me to put it on my lips. She didnt even try to find tool for lips. I wasnt satisfied with that color so i took wipes to clean my lips and she took in front of me make up cleaner and went to register to chat with her friend. She didnt even tell me sorry for waiting, she just turned around and went. Sorry Ulta, but this is too much!!
