Andres is a classic neighborhood barbershop. You get a great haircut, and the old-school shtick of barbers who spend (presumably) the entire day making fun of each other. I no longer live in the neighborhood, but drive back here to get my haircut because I like the group and have never left dissatisfied with the haircut. If you know what cut you are looking for, they can do exactly that, but they can also give good advice if youre not sure what type of haircut you want. Pros: Great haircuts, funny banter, insightful commentary on the latest R. Kelly album or where to get a mezcal old fashioned. Cons: Owner has never seen Space Jam, does not understand that the Monstars pose an existential threat to American sovereignty.

As others have said, this is a this is a fantastic classic barber shop. You can get a straight razor shave, a haircut, and soon, youll get a shampoo (but barber-style; this is NOT a salon). Youre also likely to get a good conversation with your barber and one or two of the folks from the neighborhood who often occupy some of the chairs (say hi to Bill, he seems to be hanging out here almost all the time and knows the history of the neighborhood extremely well). A local business employees who truly care about their craft. How can you go wrong?

Good, guys barber shop. They took care of my 5-year-old son and me. Not much of a wait (Friday afternoon.) Kirk did my hair and said he bought the place from "the" Andre a little while ago. Andre was a great guy but wasnt physically able to keep doing it. Kirk is a young family man and, apparently, hair is the family trade. Its the kind of place I like to patronize - small, honest business with tremendous value. The menu, from what I remember: haircut $15 shave $20 haircut & shave $30 Needless to say, well be back.

Andres is the place to go. If youre looking through reviews to decide, dont think twice just go. You wont be disappointed every barber here is top notch, they take great pride and respect in every haircut and it shows. This place is the only place I recommend, it makes every other shop in the city look like supercuts. They dont take reservations, first come first serve, just as it should be. Also cash only spot.

Under new ownership, but most highly recommended. I got the haircut Im proposing to my girlfriend with and couldnt be more satisified. Kirk, the new owner, is a second-generation barber from Chicago and is committed to keeping the traditional barbershop alive--with perhaps a few ironic twists (Aquavelva with your shave?). $15 haircut, but with attention to detail better than any salon.

I wear my hair long but it was getting pretty shaggy so went in there while in Chicago and asked for a "light trim , keep it long and over my ears". I got a VERY short cut just like the guy before me and likely the same as the next guy who goes there. Great place for a buzz cut. If you want anything else, go somewhere they listen to you and know more than one trick.

Hands down best place Ive ever gotten a haircut. Ive been there a few times now and no matter who I get they always do a professional job. The amount of quality and effort they put into your haircut is really impressive. The place also has a classic barbershop look and the atmosphere they have is really laid back, which is nice when youre waiting for a cut.

As a first time customer, I felt very welcomed here. Not only were the guys working very friendly, but they also have a lot of respect for their customers. I was taken care of by Carlo, who did a fantastic job and he even gave me some tips on how to do my hair. If you want a sharp haircut with awesome service, this is the place! Definitely will be back.

My father experienced the exact same thing as below on his recent trip to Chicago. He went in for a simple trim and ended up spending over 2 hours talking with the locals. He said "its one of those places where, when you walk in you feel like youve been going there forever". Brilliant!

This place is nothing short of amazing. Extremely professional service, classic barbershop feel, and they take their time to cut your hair right. This is not a place to go for a chain style haircut. This is a place for a neighborhood feel and a personal experience.

Great shop, short wait, awesome barbers... Went in because I walked by after work... Got a great cut from Patrick. Felt like a real barbershop, definitely not the mens salons that are everywhere which was also great!

The worst hair cut Ive ever had. It took over an hour and a half in the chair and it was obvious the guy had no idea what he was doing. I will never go back. I would give it zero stars if it was an option.
