Ive been going to Belmont Barbershop since it opened. My experiences in the beginning were that of a patron at a small but friendly and relaxed boutique barber shop. When you walked in there was a couch on the right and a pool table in the back. The cutting stations were located on the left and it was a great experience. The haircuts were superb and the guys were all great to converse with. As time has progress the owners have taken the business in a different direction. Instead of focusing on the atmosphere and expanding into a larger space they changed the atmosphere and stayed put. They have removed the pool table, added more cutting stations and added chairs around the couch. While the hair cuts are still superb the experience has suffered. The waits for walk ins still take up to 2 hours, the space is still too small for the amount of business they have, and they are so strict about closing up they tell you not to come in an hour before closing because they wont be able to get you. That said, its still my go to place for a hair cut, I just had to stop recommending them because I dont want the line to get any longer! :-) I hope they open a second location sometime soon and restore that awesome atmosphere they had when it first opened.

Easily the best barbershop in Chicago. I work in retail, specifically Mens Suiting, and Ive found myself constantly being asked by clients where I get my hair cut, I happily send every one of them to Belmont Barbershop. Every barber there knows exactly how to cut mens hair, in the exact way you want it cut. Ive tried out other barbershops before finally (and thankfully) landing here and they simply just dont compare. Its no thrills, a mans man kind of place, dont expect a shampoo or a condition, because its simply not necessary. You pay $17 for a haircut and thats exactly what you get, expect what sets these gentlemen apart from the rest is they do it perfectly right! Josh, Jesse, Billy and Drew all do a fantastic job

Come to this place for the experience. Ive been getting my hair cut here for a few years now. Peter is my go to barber. Hes a life coach on the side when hes not cutting hair so suffice it to say that conversation is excellent here. The lay out is like any traditional barbershop and all their guys provide a unit experience. This place is expensive, thus attracting a more sophisticated crowd, but the cost is well worth it. I would have never known this, but the guys have a a tremendous amount of experience and schooling in this field. As long as I live in Chicago, Ill be coming here. This joint wont disappoint.

WTF posted hours say open till 3pm o sat you make your way there by 2pm only to find out that they will not take more walk ins... I understand they want to leave but then post open till 3.... and we stop taking walk ins an hour early. Bad customer service. Open till 3 means we will still do business as long as you come in within our designated hours. Not later not before but until whatever time I say we are open..that is respect for the guest..

Went for a haircut, and as the walk in barber was cutting my hair he began to say the style of haircut I wanted was unprofessional and they dont do that here. The only thing I asked for was a short line with the razor where my part was. I came to get a haircut not be criticized about my style of hair. Hair cut trends grow and dont stay stuck in old fashion trends.

This place is excellent. Barbers are not only good, they are also friendly and pretty funny. Belmont Barbershop carries Layrite and Lucky 13 products, which is great. Its in your best interest to make an appointment. This place gets really busy and has extremely long walk-in wait times during prime hours.

Greg is the man. He kicks monumental a##. Came in after awhile of cutting my own hair, and was very pleased with the outcome of the haircut. Tried to explain at the very best what I wanted and he knocked it out of the park. Will definitely repeat and I highly recommend to all.

Took my son to get his haircut by his Uncle Vince. Great shop, all the workers were friendly and the shop has got a great vibe. If youre looking for a great barber, you wont be disappointed with Vince. His attention to detail is incredible and his skill for cutting is amazing!

Brian cuts my hair and he is hands down the BEST Barber I have ever had! He is diverse on styles, from classic to fades. He blends perfectly and doesnt waste time talking. I recommend him for all your cuts. Make your appointment, you wont regret it.

Hands down the best haircut experience Ive had and one of the best cuts I have had. Awesome place, nice people, genuinely know what theyre doing and they care. Gave me some product for free and the straight-razor of the neckline is amazing.

Has the feel of an old timey barber shop. Patrons can walk in or make an appointment with a specific barber. Appointments can be made online. The barbers are friendly and talented. Haircut takes 20 min.
