Trusted reviews and glad I did! My daughter away from home attending Loyola University and her car broke down on Lakeshore Dr. After reading the reviews and checking BBB I chose this shop. The team there took a quick look at it and called me right away giving me a choice to repair it or pick it up. They removed the upper timing belt inspection cover and saw the belt was coming apart, then they bore-scoped the cylinder and saw bent valves. This was major and I had a shop back home that did related work on it a month earlier so I picked it up. The car had to sit there for 4 days, they helped me load it and showed me pictures of the internal damage and so on...when I asked for the bill they said "no charge", glad to help a "starving student" and her step-dad! I appreciated the straight forward tell it like it is, no fluff or selling me on things I don’t really need (like tear it down to see the problem) and where a handshake still means something in the auto repair industry. The shop could have easily charged me storage, diagnostic fee and like every other shop you go to a flat charge for environmental reclamation whether or not any grease or oil was used. This is now our go-to shop because they do business the old fashion way where it matters, especially in a time where technicians are incentivized to sell more parts abusing the term “preventative”. STAY AWAY!!!!!! I had my window broken into one night. The following morning I dropped it off. Although Jimmy was a very nice guy, I returned that following day to find my other window broken. The Auto Store paid for the 2nd window and I picked up my car later that day. After one week, not only is there glass all over my car, but the windows do not function properly, my passenger door has difficulty opening, and to top it off, my driver side door does not unlock or open. I would never recommend anyone, friend or foe, to this place. Please take this for what it is. Awful end product with adequate service.

I heard about Bucaro Brothers from a friend and decided to take my car to them for my 100,000 mile service & oil change. I also thought that I might need my struts replaced and mentioned this going in. They called me within an hour to explain all the things they recommended I take care of and their price. I was actually a little surprised when they said that I could probably go another year on my struts before having to worry about them. I was impressed with their honest assessment and got my car back the same day. I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Was paranoid about some potential transmission or engine trouble, and was recommended this place by Cassidy (another great tire and battery shop). The staff was so nice and, after test driving my car, concluded nothing needed to be fixed--just a suggestion to put in some STP. No charge to look at the car, just an honest opinion. Unfortunately, they dont take appointments (first come, first serve), so get there early. Have been telling everyone about this place--the best auto care people Ive ever dealt with. Will be back next time I need any maintenance.

Had good reviews online so I decided to try it. Went in with a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation and they had me ready in about an hour. Right as they were going to drive my car around a brake line busted. Turns out I had 2 more that were rusted pretty bad and needed to be replaced soon. They told me theyd fix the busted one for free, since it happened in house, which I thought was great. I left the car and picked it up the next afternoon with all 3 fixed and ready to go. Felt the price was fair and they did a good job.

Okan is the most fair, trustworthy mechanic I have ever used. His quotes are always on par with that of the competition, and recommendations on the work thats required compared to the work that isnt quite necessary is reliable and appreciated. I have taken him foreign cars, domestic, old and new and still get the same great service. From batteries to tires, exhaust to broken windows, simple oil changes to complex brake and alignment issues, no one compares to Okan @ Bucaro.

Honestly, I have to say that Okan, I believe the manager or the owner of Bucaro Brothers, was very honest. My car problem was fixed by Okan telling me that the fuel pump was under warranty. If I was at other repair shop, I know I would of gotten ripped off. He also checked my brakes and said that I have more time in to them. He could of easily said that we need to replace them now. Thank you Bucaro Brothers! You just earned my trust and referal.

I saw the good reviews online and decided to patronize this place. I just called to see if i could bring in my car for an oil change, and the call axperience was awful. First off, he put me on hold for over 6mins, and then when he finally responded, he was really rude and told me i had to drop my car because he couldnt do the oil change servicing today. He wasnt even courteous at all and was in such a hurry to end the call.

Extremely rude would be an understatement, tried getting an update on a vehicle in to be looked at a full day after it was dropped off. Rude, extremely short, asked for a time frame and told me to have the car taken somewhere else. Exact reason why people in the automotive industry have a poor reputation. Absolutely zero customer service, wish I could do more to encourage people to avoid this location.

Weve known Okan since a few years back when the Auto Shop was still at Shell (Wrightwood and Halsted/Lincoln Park). We have been taking our cars to him for repairs. Everyones friendly and very helpful. Prices are very reasonable and they are very reliable. We followed him at Buccaro Brothers where they provide the same excellent service. We have been recommending him to people who live in the area.

The office seemed well organized and the administrator was very kind and professional. The shop was well maintained too. I felt the cost was fair. The diagnosis and repair was competed in a timely manner. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a genuine sense of hospitality which I much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this shop to others.

From the mechanical side to the front desk customer service the treatment was terrific. They followed through on the appointment, the car was serviced properly and the price was fair. I truly believe they are running a fair and honest auto shop which is not easy to come by. I will bring my vehicle back here as neccesary for sure...

Ive been using these guys for the past couple of years and they are definitely the best. They do good, honest work and their prices are fair. Just recently, I went in with what I thought was a problem with my car. It turns out it was a small fix and they didnt even charge for it. Ill definitely be back!
