Id say that you get more than what you pay for at Fitness 19. If youre waiting to start a membership and its the fall... Black Friday is a great time to sign up. I got a standard membership for $19/mo... thats pretty unheard of in Chicago. Regular rates are not much more expensive at $25/mo normally. Im currently on the $29/mo plan which includes unlimited classes and an InBody scan each month with a consultation. A few caveats: -No rowing machine :( -No "extras" like a steam room, showers, etc. - but if you want that, you can go to LPAC or whatever and pay $100/mo (no thanks) -Tight quarters -When classes are in session, its difficult to do free weights/abs/etc because of the tight quarters (so plan accordingly) -Yoga classes are awesome but youd better be able to relax with a bright light in your face and constant white noise sounds Just try it out for a week and see if its something that will make you happy. I used to work out at an $80/mo place and really get the same use out of this gym.

The BEST gym in Lakeview! Seriously. I checked out XSport and could only stand to be there for less than a month. I got hit with so many hidden fees and had to call corporate THREE times because their head manager wasnt showing any sympathy and blamed it on me. Not a good way to treat your customers. On top of that, I worked out in the middle of the day and always had the hardest time finding a bench because it was so busy! Fitness 19 has amazing customer service and is always willing to listen to their members. I truly appreciate their transparency! They know me by name and help me get motivated to workout. The facility is always super clean and well organized. And the best part!? I never have any issues finding a machine at any time of the day! Highly recommend and the price is UNBEATABLE! Talk to Tony, hes the best!

I joined in September but ended up cancelling because I found a gym closer to my home. Because I cancelled within 3 days of joining, I was told Id be refunded in 3-5 business days. I was never refunded. I emailed the gym, and I called. When I called - in mid-October - I was told my cancellation paperwork hadnt even been processed. The staff told me hed make a note to the manager to process, and I would receive a refund within 3-5 business days from that call. I have still not received a refund, and Im very disappointed in this total lack of customer service.

Nothing good to say here. I signed up online for the gym and after moving to a different state I was informed that the only way I could cancel was to come in. Not possible. The completely rude and unhelpful manager informed me that the only other way to cancel was to write a letter. I asked if the charge would go through for the month and he said yes and that there was nothing he could do about it. So beware, you can sign up online but they will hold your card hostage and charge you no matter what.

Its better to have a gym near your house. Then you wont find any excuse like it is too far to go. The 19 does provide enough equipment for daily training. The only reason I give 4 stars is about the tidiness. There always some guys never return dumbbells, plates, bars to the right positions and leave chaos. Usually, in some other gym, the staffs will clean the mass. But it doesnt mean they are bad. Actually, all the staff are very friendly.

Dont bother. They have almost no A/C in the main weights and cardio area. The desk guy basically lied that its not usually that hot (at 5am mind you), and another employee said they just installed a new AC unit and it just doesnt work right but they cant seem to fix it. I asked a girl working out there, and she said its pretty much always this way. I can workout for free in no A/C along the lake, so Ill keep my $30 a month thanks.

This gym has everything I need at an affordable cost. Lots of free weights, machines, and a good amount of cardio equipment. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is absolutely spotless. The only downside is a lack of parking and it would be great if it was open 24 hours, but beggars cant be choosers when it comes to the price. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to lose weight.

This gym is incredible. The people there changed my life. Karina and Mary are my favorite people. They are warm and friendly. They always greater me with a smile and motivates me to work hard. Dont forget the boss, Tony. This guy needs a promotion. Always looking to improve the total experience, and what a great guy. Thank you everyone at Fitness 19. Youve saved my life. Quality gym with all the workout equipment you could need. Friendly staff, great hours, very clean and not a bad cost at all compared to other gyms in the area. Its never been majorly crowded even in the evening after work hours. Something to note is there are no showers in the locker rooms or towel service, but wouldnt consider that a make or break--probably what keeps it affordable. Highly recommend!

Love this gym! Always feel welcome and equipment is available every time. Good sized gym that isnt too overwhelming but not too small. Only suggestion is that if you want to do independent work outs on the mat in the open classroom, check the schedule on the website. Most classes are in the evenings so it tends to get busy. Definitely worth the money and in a great area!

Good, value-focused gym. You wont get the latest or widest array of equipment, but they offer all the essentials (cardio, free-weights, squat racks, weight machines, etc.) at an excellent price. I pay around $12 a month (signed up before they opened several years ago to lock in that rate), but I see $19/mo deals with no initiation fee regularly.

Its a nice gym, in general. Staff there is very friendly and this gym is very clean (I didnt notice any bad smell there, thanks to the staff that cleans there all the time.) Also, its very cheap there. But this gym is small and there are no showers. So if you are dirty, go to Bed Baths & Beyond and buy some towels. :)

Great value. For the price, you get a clean, well-stocked gym. I usually go in the mornings around 6:30 and rarely have to wait for barbells (bench, squat, etc). By 7:15 the gym is mostly emptying out. The only things I wish they had were bumper plates and a rowing machine. Then I would have no complaints!

This is a very cheap gym that fits my needs perfectly, as its a short walk from my apartment. Super nice staff and I love that its open till 11 pm, as late-night workouts are my favorite. Has a real squat rack, lots of free weights, all the machines I need. Not fancy, but just what I wanted!

Cool place, friendly staff. Eric and Emily were greatly appreciated for their time and patience with me as I am new to yoga/ exercise and have suffered a stroke. Emily was my personal trainer for my intake evaluation and was excellent in making me feel at ease with my work out.
