If you have a job that you want done right, HandiCo are the guys to call. I thought I knew what I wanted done, but the guys at HandiCo offered me a few other solutions, and to be honest, convinced me to do it better and save money. I really did not expect that from this type of service. I knew when they werent going after all of my wallet that I could trust these guys and they did not disappoint. I will certainly use HandiCo again in the future. **** Update **** I used Handico a few years ago for various projects around the home and I had to use them again. Let me first say that most people want to watch a YouTube video on how to repair something or make it look good. Those videos make it seem super easy, but the reality is something far, far different. I value my weekend time - and time away from work. I also value a job well done and a project handled in a manner in which I will not have to worry about it again. That is why I hire HandiCo for tasks that I know are beyond my skill level. Those YouTube videos are done by professionals, and even when you try to do in the same way they do, it never ends up looking right. I had HandiCo fix hole in the wall after I tried to do it myself. My attempt, while it was the best I could do, was weak. HandiCo came in a fixed my problem and made the wall look like new. The paint job matched up and I couldnt have been happier.

Ive been using HandiCo for my handiman needs for the past eight years. This included building a fireplace mantle, general electrical work, plumbing, leak testing/diagnostic and repair, and other jobs I wasnt comfortable doing myself. HandiCo is very professional, the people they employ are skilled tradesman, not weekend handimen. They are always on time, courteous, thoughtful about not creating a mess around the house. Because they are so good, they are always busy, so sometimes it takes a few days or up to two weeks for them to send someone in, especially if you want a specific person that is already familiar with your house. They do not work weekends. They cost $88 an hour, min 2 hours, which is a bit on the high side, but in this business you mostly get what you pay for.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give this contractor a 2. I contracted him to do some minor drywall repair which was done well, however, I also contracted him to install a screen door which was done very poorly. Not only did the time to install take longer than expected, the end result was very shoddy work. The door was not trimmed, he bent the metal of my existing door frame, there was a large gap at the bottom of the door that did not come close to sealing and he left exposed screws with gaps that looked terrible. I had to hire a second handyman just to correct his work and make it look presentable. The experience would have been good if it was just the drywall, but I do not recommend this handyman for any structural work.

We needed a bunch of odds and ends completed and couldnt do them ourselves. This included moving a large china cabinet down a narrow staircase. When the task was too big for one person, Demond was quickly and easily able to get a colleague to come by and assist for no extra charge. He courteously and quickly completed tasks like mounting a flat screen, installing a new kitchen faucet, etc. He also gave us some free advice as I was lamenting about being severely overcharged for some simple plumbing work through another company in the past. It was our first time using HandiCo but will certainly not be our last.

We set up a time with HandiCo and we agreed on an appointment. Well, we made arrangements to arrive late to work. We waited over an hour and no one showed up. Then I called them and I got lots of apologies when I called and asked why no one showed up. They never even offered to make it up to me by offering a discount. I refuse to ever do business with HandiCo and I URGE all of you to NEVER call such unreliable people. If you or I didnt show up to a job without an excuse or a phone call, we would be fired and rightly so. Dont ever do business with HandiCo.

I have used HandiCo a few times already; first while dealing with the utter insanity of staging my place to put on the market and then to fix little odds and ends once under contract. My experience with HandiCo has been fantastic. They are always able to fit me in quickly, work fast and do quality work. Through this exhausting and sometimes overwhelming project, HandiCo has been extremely helpful...giving me a few less things to worry about. I will definitely use them again in the future with any projects in my new place.

Terrific handyman service! Extremely high quality and integrity. We have used Handico for various jobs over the past 5+ years and have always been 100% satisfied. We now reside outside of IL but still own a rental condo in Lakeview. We use Handico exclusively for all repairs. Whenever our tenants let us know of a problem, we have Handico go in, diagnose the issue, recommend a solution, and perform the work -- all without seeing it ourselves. We absolutely trust Handico, and strongly recommend them.

We hired HandiCo to repair dry wall that suffered water damaged from a roof leak. Julio was on time, professional and did a great job. He did an excellent job of blocking off the work area to ensure no dust was left behind or traveled to other parts of the house. He kept me informed of the status of the project and was done in the estimated timeframe. On top of that, he was very friendly with our new puppy! I will definitely use HandiCo and request Julio for further projects.

I had a great experience using HandiCo to fix an issue with my Kitchen Sink. Setting up the appointment was extremely easy through their web site. They did an excellent job of explaining to me the best way to fix the problem and then implementing the solution. They arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner and made sure to clean up after themselves. I would definitely use them again and would definitely recommend their service to others in the future.

Ive used them two or three times now. The repair guys are prompt, courteous, very professional and extremely efficient. They work quickly but flawlessly. Ive had them do electrical work, change bulbs, replace fixtures, etc. They always get the job done efficiently. Demond M., Drew and Tom are the technicians I have used and they have always done fantastic work. Handico is a bit expensive though, but relative as the work is top notch! :-)

In an emergency, they are there. My tenant called at 9:30 pm, letting me know that they had been burglarized and a basement widow had been broken out. I sent an email at 10pm, Matt from Handico called me at 7am, their guy was at the apartment at 8am, and everything was taken care of by 10. Twelve hours later! They did a great job of fixing the window and helping the tenant. I have used them before and will use them again.
