I purchased an annual gym membership at Logan Square fitness from June 2015-June 2016. I was contacted via my personal email in April 2016 in regards to renewing my membership for June 2016-June 2017. I ultimately decided to renew it in anticipation of renewing my Logan Square apartment lease. I paid for my membership in full for the amount of $369.00 on April 8, 2016. This transaction was completed via e-mail. I never signed a renewed contract for the June 2016-June 2017 membership. I was notified that my apartment building was sold and I would not have the option to renew my apartment lease in May 2016. I initially e-mailed Logan Square Fitness to discuss cancelling my membership on May 18, 2016 (see attached). After failing to receive a response, I followed up on my e-mail May 23rd. Again, I never received a response. After calling the fitness center multiple times and leaving messages with front desk staff, I finally spoke with a manager on June 2nd who e-mailed me a cancellation form (see attached). I mailed the form that same day via certified mail with a proof of change of address per your request and the Membership Agreement. After several weeks I noticed that the money had not been refunded to my account. I had a credit card replaced and called Logan Square Fitness upon receipt of the new credit card and spoke with an employee over the phone to ensure that they had the updated credit card information. I was informed that refunds are only processed on the 1st and 15th of the month. I still have not received the refund. I have called Logan Square Fitness at least 15 times over the past month and every time I am told that the manager is not one site. The front desk staff supposedly takes down my contact information and tells me that they will have the manager call me. I have never received a call back. I e-mailed both owners twice (see attached) and have never received a response. Per the Membership Agreement and phone call exchange with a manager, I should have received this refund June 15, 2016. To this date, I have not received my $369.00 refund.

I recently joined this gym because its so close to my apartment it would be stupid not to. Super convenient location aside, this gym treats its women members horribly! First things first, the room for classes is TINY and alarmingly understocked AKA no 5 lb weights (inexcusable that they werent there on the day the gym opened), no blocks or props for yoga classes. They dont even have a place for their yoga mats! They are just in a pile on the floor, making them unnecessarily dirty and unappealing to use. There is also no place to stretch and I constantly see people struggling to find little corners of the space to stretch. I know its a small and new gym, but come on! These things are obviously NOT OK and seem to be particularly inconvenient to people of the female variety. I will continue to go here because, as I mentioned, its super close (they also make you pay the yearly fee up front so theres that), BUT if I were a woman considering joining this gym now I would definitely wait until better facilities for all members were made available.

Two years ago I bought a one way ticket to GAINZville in the form of a membership to Logans best steel sanctuary. My friends all call me the beekeeper now because Im so swollen it looks like my muscles were ravaged by angry bees. The pros: -Friendly and helpful staff. -Clean environment. -Obviously cool and supportive members of all levels. -Best place to skip leg day. -Price is right so I can still afford to eat my weight in Whey protein everyday. The cons: -Im so jacked after my workout that the stairs are getting too narrow for me to climb down when Im on my way home. -The music isnt played loud enough. I need to be able to hear the tunes over the screams of my biceps on arm day AKA: everyday.

Ive been a member of wicker park fitness for some time now. I was so excited that Logan square fitness(the sister of my gym) opened because its MUCH closer to my house. Logan square fitness is undeniably nicer than the wicker location. all of the machines are brand new, it doesnt smell bad, and the bathrooms are so nice. all of the staff is super nice, and about the space issue, Dana, I always use the space near the captains chair and elliptical (theres ample space to spread out) I havent taken a class here yet, but Id really like to. I definitely recommend this gym! :)

Been with the gym for about 8 months and been very happy enough with my membership to renew. The price is reasonable - usually around 30/month during a promotion. Pros: Locker rooms are nice A lot of machines Barbell power-lifting equipment Staff is great Clientele is pretty chill Cons: (7/15/2017) *Now two squat racks!* Only one squat rack Gets BUSY during peak hours Music is loud and annoying, but this doesnt bother me - headphones easily drown it out I gave it five stars so you can tell the cons are not bad at all

I love it here! The place is super clean and organized, the showers are great! the machines and all that is available is wonderful and well maintained. In addition, I have found the staff since day 1 warm, friendly and engaged. I am so grateful to have them in our neighborhood. And because it is so close I am at the gym all the time and the health benefits have been spectacular. I only wish some other elder folks in our nieghborhood would come on in and join too!

The workout classes here are great! Small room, but it gets the job done. Kellys class is the best :) Staff is super friendly, locker room is always really clean. My one suggestion would be to buy a few more sets of 8, 10 and 12 pound weights, because sometimes we would run out for class. I would definitely recommend this gym to a friend... also, being able to utilize Wicker Park Fitness as well is a huge plus!

Can get pretty busy at the usual times on weekdays (6-8am and 5-8pm). The equipment is clean and up to date. There is only one power rack which can be an issue at times. Friendly staff, great value and location, next to the Logan Square Blue Line, with several parking spots in the back (ask the staff where the spots are). Update: Another power rack has been added!

This gym is low key but the workout classes are always packed because the room is super small - if you like to do a lot of mat workouts this isnt a good place because when theres a class in session theres nowhere to lay a mat. Aside from that - its cheap and the staff is really nice.

Perfect no-frills gym. Inexpensive membership fees. Lots of equipment, never had to wait for a machine. Basic locker rooms with showers. Free classes offered daily. Locations in Southport and Wicker Park.

Towel service, clean showers, newer equipment and plenty of treadmills. Downside is peak after work hours and very small group class room - both offset by affordable and newness for Chicago cost of living.

Good simple gym, although the music is always on, and sometimes annoying. Can be a bit loud and crowded, but nice during of hours. Recently added a second squat cage, which is a big improvement.
