I have gone here since their inception and the service has worsened over the last three years. The staff has changed which illustrates a bigger problem. The owner Sadia used to be accomodating, but since she feels she has a larger customer base she could care less. I usually call to see how busy they are and they always lie and say they are available in their ploy to get more work for the day. Today, I waited for 15 minutes only to be told their wax roller was broken - pathetic. Ive also been told from a former employee they do not practice hygiene of any sort. Take a look at the facial machine - I have seen mold in it. Nor do they wash gowns they give for waxing or towels. Disgusting. Also I do not mean to be insulting, but the other people who have posted reviews indicated the henna was impressive - you may not be Indian/Paki so you are unaware of what impressive henna is. Go to Devon Ave. you will find more authentic artists there. Or, try Bollywood Trendz. I was pleased with the prompt service and affordable price list. Avoid Mahrose at all costs.

Unbeatable rate and hair cut also good compared to other places. Especially Indians and Pakistanis like this place more as the hair cut style and the saloon ambience seems to be fit for people from these countries. Suggestions of improvement -----—---------------------------------------- They can make the working culture a bit more professionalized way rather than waiting customers for more than an hour. They could take telephone bookings and mark that customer name in the waiting list book they already maintain and give a time to them according to the no: of customers already waiting for the hair cut or for doing other stuffs depends on their bookings. Whoever comes directly to the shop without informing have to wait until all the listed names above his/her name completes the activity. By this way they can avoid the crowd inside shop and maintain the shop in a more professionalized way. Also they have to maintain the shop a bit more clean and tidy that will be a plus always.

I am actually here right now and couldnt resist writing this review. First off, let me begin by saying the inside of this salon is absolutely disgusting. The back area for waxing and coloring looks like no one has cleaned back there in MONTHS. The chairs look as if they are 30 or more years old, with duck tape wrapped all around them. The lady who did my hair was honestly very sweet, but unfortunately they did not do well for me here. I do like my color but thats because I picked it out. I asked her simple questions about combining 2 colors and she looked as if she had no idea what I was talking about. Perhaps if you need something very simple done, they can accommodate you.

I got my first eyebrow threading here at Mahrose a few years ago, and Ive been a customer ever since! Comparing prices and service to other salons, this place is unbeatable. $5 eyebrow threading and upperlip waxing for $2 (sometimes they even thread the stubborn hairs from your face for free). Afterwards, they lotion your eyebrow area and massage your temples, too, for a few minutes. I always just walk-in and am always helped within 5 minutes by one of the ladies there. Love it!

I have been cutting my hair with Jay for years. He takes his time, and always give me the best haircut. There is a reason, there is a line for him, and not the other guy. Make sure to call ahead to see if he is there and Expect to wait an hour on weekends, if you want Jay

I agree they told me on the phone that I didnt need an appointment and I have now been waiting 15 minutes to get my eyebrows done and the lady who does it is now cutting some guys hair... Very frustrating, not very clean, think Ill go back to my other place next time.

Poorly staffed.. Way longer wait times.. You think you will get out with the service done normally in weekdays/off-hours, still takes hours.. Will prefer now paying a little more and going somewhere that saves me times and gives better quality.

I go here to get my eyebrows done. Its quick and only 5 dollars. In and out no nonsense type of place. The workers are quiet but sweet! I highly recommend!
