My husband and I joined this gym about a month ago, and we absolutely love it. My husband is a former cross country and track runner which has kept in him excellent shape. But I am the complete opposite and often feel uncomfortable in a gym. However, when Connor gave us a tour of the gym, he spoke respectfully to both of us and seemed genuinely interested in and encouraging of our fitness goals. He got us really excited about everything the gym had to offer, and we havent been disappointed. (OH and the price for membership was AMAZING - especially compared to similar gyms that charge upwards of $100 for family. Were a family with a modest income, so we were delighted.) Since starting our membership, weve gone to the gym at 6am, 5pm, 8pm, and 11pm on weekdays. While the morning and immediately after work were busiER, it was never TOO busy. There is always a machine open - be it cardio or strength training. And the locker rooms always have BEYOND enough room. In fact, the locker rooms are pretty impressive. They are impeccably clean and even offer several hairdryers in the womens. The saunas are wonderful, and the dry sauna has a great woodsy smell due to all the wood in the walls. There are ~8 showers (I think) (including an accessible shower), all of which are clean and spacious. Lockers are plentiful and easy to find. And there is a TON of mirror space if you like to get ready at the gym before work. My favorite aspect of the gym so far are the pools: a four-lane lap pool, a resistance/infinity pool, and a double decker hot tub. The pools are never crowded and I can always find a lane in which to do laps. The resistance pool, however, could have stronger jets. The current isnt quite strong enough to use properly. At first we were a little overwhelmed by the options the gym had (stairclimbers, treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, TONS of machines that work the same muscles, etc.) But we used our complimentary training session and each of our trainers helped us find a routine that would accomplish our specific fitness goals. I was doing exercises I never would have done on my own! (Im actually starting some personal training there next week and very excited about it.) We have our membership for over a year, and I am very excited to continue using it.

Cancelled with them a long time ago. I remember when i first joined Xsport back in 2003 - I got 24 months membership for the price of 12 months. Ok cool, paid it in full one lump sum. Had to put the membership on hold after 15 months, because i went off to college. They said ok. Come back, im supposed to have 9 months left. They never held my account. Let it run, and im down 8 months of my 9. Said if thats how they want to do business, let it be, i cancelled. This was circa 2005-2006. Come back, in-between some breaks. Needed to go to the gym, ok, got a new contract - we are talking dec 2012, jan 2013. They said ok so i signed up for the 1 year. 6 months into it, i had to put it on hold as i went out of state. They never put it on hold, let it run, and then charge my card for 3 months after that. I went in, asked them what the hell they are doing. They do not give me back my 6 months or the 3 months they charged when i was in a different state. Tried canceling, only to have them lose the papers i sent in as proof. Because of this i have left and will never go back to Xsport. Heard lots of others also left. Now they are giving everyone premium memberships for $30 to any of their facilites as well as you can bring a guest, etc. Honestly, dont be hooked by them. They will rape your bank account and time for no reason. Consumers are not protected anymore compared to the corporate greed that has encased the whole of the USA in the past 3 decades.

Make sure if you go there speak to Brian. He was my salesman when I went there. Just like a lot of gyms lots of people are frustrated with what they think they are told the prices and then they are frustrated when they see what comes out of their account. The best recommendation is treated like a used car dealership get everything in writing make sure not to go too fast and most importantly dont sign anything if you dont understand. Brian was very honest and straightforward told me the exact price it was going to be and when I checked a couple days later my credit card was charged the exact price. I was so happy that I brought my wife over and bought a 2 year membership as well same thing everything went good with the purchasing of it. So I continue to bring more of my friends over and get them signed up this week. I have been to this gym before a few years ago and not really much has changed. My feelings is that it very clean and safe gym. For what youre getting for for the price I believe that you are getting a lot better amenities then what you are paying for. The biggest thing is that people must remember you are not paying 130 or $140 a month for this gym so dont expect marble and Gold Everywhere. Expect the clean facility with good at working equipment and good trainers. I will continue to go here but I thought that it was very important that there is finally a good review out there and that not all the salesman lie to you.

The weightlifting equipment is great. The cardio equipment is OK. The pool is not so good. I hope when they replace the cardio equipment in the near future, that they consider lowering the tv screens or removing them altogether on at least one or two of each type of machine, excluding maybe the bikes, where Im pretty much stationary. Not everyone wants an electronic device in their face. I personally would rather have the option of looking off into the distance without having to turn my head to the side or look up. Trying to view the screen up close while on the treadmill, for example, causes me to get dizzy, as my point of focus shifts back and forth with my body. Thats why I turn it off. Just observe how many people turn off the screens and ask them why. Im sure youll get some valuable insight. Besides, I feel that the screens limit airflow. As far as the pool is concerned, I wish that the club would contract out with daily pool maintenance specialist, as I like to swim but have suffered a couple of sinus infections from a poorly maintained pool. As a former in-ground pool owner, I know that properly maintaining a pool is not simple and requires regular testing of the water. Ive stopped swimming there altogether and joined another gym that has a pool pass only option for that very reason.

The facility is ok but their customer service is horrible. I’ve been a member at the Downers Grover location for six years or more. I purchased a Fitbit from the Downers Grove location. The device did not work. I returned it the next day and requested a full refund or an in house credit. It’s been 3 weeks and I’m still trying to get my $87.00 refund. They sent me through a lot of red tape for 3 weeks only to tell me that they would not refund my money nor give me a in store credit. The funny thing is they knew I was very unhappy about the situation but they offered no real solution to rectifying the situation. Therefore “DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PRODUCTS FROM XSPORT FITNESS”. They will sell you products that don’t work and “STEAL YOUR MONEY”. DO NOT TRUST THEM AND NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. When purchasing any fitness equipment go to a reputable business that cares about their customers and have a fair return policy. Trust me “THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU”. Also their restrooms always have a very bad odor and not cleaned timely. It is best not to use them at all.
