I would not recommend this gym to anyone, unless you were someone who doesnt care about customer service and just wants bare bones. The problem is that this gym costs much more than bare bones. When I signed on I was promised that there would be help reaching my goals and that it would be personal service. I didnt feel like I received any of that once they had me sign a contract and had money for at least a few months. I was a member for almost a year to give it a chance. I was continuously disappointed in the staff who were at best standoffish unless you needed to pay for something. The one trainer that I actually liked and had a good relationship with left the gym and no one called to say "hey lets find you a new trainer that fits your needs", in fact no one told me that trainer was leaving at all. Ive had several bad experiences with the older members of the gym being rude to me, but maybe thats just the suburbs. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience. I was hoping to find a gym to partner with to lose some weight and get in shape and thought that if I paid more for "high quality" it would be worth it. Instead they took my money for almost a year, made me submit a cancellation in writing with another billing cycle afterwards, and sadly didnt even ask me why I wanted to cancel or try to keep me as a customer. Thats a sign of a business that doesnt care about their members.

I have been actively training at the Health and Wellness Center for about a year now. I had Bariatric Surgery in December of 2008 and as of March of 2010 reached by goal. I am now two pounds lighter than my original goal and I feel great. This is due, in a large part, to the staff and the wonderful classes offered at Good Sam. The free yoga classes are excellent, the pools are unsurpassed and the trainers are compassionate, knowledgable and supportive. I train regularly and find this keeps me motivated. I am trying to change my body composition and finally feel I am accomplishing this through guidance from trainer, Jeff Bauman. I can not give this center enough praise!!

Had a pinched nerve thought i was having a heart attack,they gave me an angiogram to my heart plus a load of exams,went in sunday morning was discharged monday after noon the next day doc said i have heart disease and said i should quit smoking i will be okay. That was back in 2009.oh and to lay off the fatty foods too. No insurance coverage, told them,bill was 25,000 plus they wrote off the whole biil !! Cannot say enough about this hospital dont live in town any more but would recommend this hospital in a heart beat.Oh yea a very pretty nurses too hahaha.

I am extremely satisfied with the wellness center. It is clean, friendly, not too crowded, and has competitive basketball games. I moved away so I no longer regularly attend, but when I do come back to Downers Grove, I always try to go back. They have top notch amenities and a helpful staff.

A nice work out facility. Decent class selection. Swimming classes for children are wonderful! One down side is the staff isnt super excited about little ones talking/laughing loudly while waiting for their turn to swim.

Friendly staff make an effort to remember you and call you by your name when you arrive. Very clean facility.almost spa-like locker rooms. Well worth the price.
