If you like to deal with liers, this is your place. This Meineke is quite possibly the worst service shop one could imagine. My front wheels started rattling, so I brought my car into this Meineke on Green Bay road. I spoke with a person that called himself Amy. He looked at the car and said the the struts needed to be replaced. So, I went ahead and had the work done. This cost $680 for parts and labor. The car initially showed some improvement, though the car still did not sound perfect. About 5 months later, the wheels were rattling just the same as they were before the repair. So, I brought the car back into Meineke. This guy, "Amy", of course did not recognize me. I had him look at the car and about 20 minutes later he comes out to the waiting room and says that the struts need to be replaced. Now, the original struts lasted about 60,000 miles. The struts Meineke put on the car lasted about 650 miles. The problem was either poor installation by Meineke or the use of poor parts by Meineke. I asked Amy if they would use manufacturer OEM parts. He said that they absolutely use OEM parts for everything they do. He said that he could replace the struts for $680. Looks like their prices didnt change in the 5 months, since I last I had the exact same work done. I asked the brand of the struts and he told me. I then told him I needed to make a phone call. I called a nearby Honda dealer and asked the name of the OEM struts. They told me the name brand and furthermore verified that the brand Amy said they used was never used by Honda as an OEM part. I then told Amy that I did not believe him that Meineke used OEM struts. He then said to me "Look I will show you that the name brand we use matches the struts already on your car" Of course, Amy still did not realize that his Meineke replaced these struts just five months ago. After he showed them to me, I dropped it on him that those were not the original struts and Meineke was in fact the shop that installed those struts. At this point, Amy got real quiet and began mumbling. He refused to honor the warranty with any type of part except the ones that lasted only 5 months. After arguing with him for a while, he finally admitted that the parts he uses are not OEM parts and that he in fact lied "because he didnt think the difference would really matter to me". In the end, I just left and went to a Honda dealership. It was a couple hundred dollars more, but it was definitely worth it.

Im with everyone else on here, DO NOT TRUST THEM! I have a coupon for 4 $8.00 oil changes at this particular shop and so every three months I go in and change the oil and they look at my car. The past 3 times I have been there they have told me that something is wrong with my car but mysteriously the problem is always different even though there is only three months between every visit. Keep in mind that I have never gotten anything other than an oil change from these guys. The last time I went in they told me that only one of my front breaks was metal to metal and that my rotor was completely shot, this scared me enough but the manager proceeded to tell me that I could not drive the car until I got it fixed. He said he could do it for some $300 which I didnt have and he continually made me feel extremely guilty about not being able to fix my car. In fact he wouldnt let me pay for my oil change and leave for a very awkward amount of time until I finally was about to walk out without paying for anything. In the end I brought my car to a mechanic friend of mine and he told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car and that I had at least 10,000 miles left on both of my front breaks. Thank goodness I trusted my gut and didnt get anything fixed otherwise my car would probably be in worse shape than it is right now.

DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. These guys will do their utmost to scare you into paying for stuff you dont need. Went to these guys for a tune up because my car was having engine problems and they were conveniently located. They told me it would cost $210. Within a few hours they called me to tell me my brake system was bad and needed to be replaced, and a few hours later called again talking about leaking break fluid. I got suspicious when the scare tactics started, so I declined all repairs aside from the tune up and took my car elsewhere. Before leaving though they took out a brand new brake caliper and an old rusted one that had a grove worn into it about a centimeter deep around the entire circumference, as if the brake pad had scraped it out, took some more old rusted components out of a back room conveniently located by the front desk and were trying to tell me this is what my car looked like while comparing them to new parts. I took my car elsewhere and had it check up. At the Main and Crawford auto shop they couldnt identify any of the problems the Meineke people were talking about.

I echo all of the other reviews in saying that these guys are crooks. I went in to have an issue fixed on my car. They told me it was my catalytic converter, so I called around to get estimates on replacement of that part to see if they were quoting me a legitimate price. They were competitive with their price so I went on ahead and had the work done. Mistake!! Although the price was okay, they didnt fix the problem. I got home and a week later my car didnt start. Same thing that was happening before. So $500 later, my car is in the same shape as when I brought it in to these crooks and I have nothing to show for it. At the rate their going they wont be in business long. The Meineke Franchisor should shut these fools down cause they are giving them a bad name!

Worst customer service experience of my life. These people are rude idiots. Scheduled an appointment online and all of the corporate bells and whistled worked great. Too bad when I showed up at 7:30am it was just me and the lit up "open" sign there. 15 minutes and 2 phone calls later I still didnt see anyone, so I proceeded to the Skokie Jiffy Lube, which was amazing. At 8:15am, 45 minutes after my appointment a daft employee called me about my voicemail and simply asked when I was going to bring it back. He seemed confused that my appointment had been missed and offered no apology or explanation. Then, the day after my missed appointment they sent me a thank you email asking for a review. Well, here ya go. STAY AWAY.

This shop is convenient to where I work, so I sometimes have gone there for oil changes and the like. I know nothing about cars, so I generally am at the mercy of mechanics, especially because I cant afford to give up use of my only car for many days my shopping around at different mechanics. Anyway, the last time I went there and they recommended $580 worth of work on my brakes, struts, pads, rotors, etc. to fix a squeal in the brakes. I just so happened to have had the rotors replaced a mere 3 months ago while out of town. So this didnt smell right. I took it to another mechanic and they said the struts and shocks were fine (as were the rotors), fixed the squeal for $82. Dont trust these guys.
