We met Kathy and Dean at a home show at the Kane County Fairgrounds. The home show was not much to speak of but meeting KS of Geneva made it all worthwhile. We really wanted to update the standard early nineties builders kitchen in our home. We had a remodeler out who quoted us $40,000 to $70,000. We were horrified, that was WAY out of our price range and it would take three months and we would not have a kitchen during that time. KS did an amazing job at a fraction of the cost. They were in our home for two weeks and I had access to my kitchen every evening when they left. I am a stay-at-home mom and my two kids loved Miss Kathy and Mr. Dean. They are such nice people as well as skilled craftsman. Dean looked at the pictures I pulled out of magazines and helped us come up with the best solutions for our kitchen. Kathy helped me chose cabinet handles and lighting fixtures. She has such a great eye! People cant believe that our beutiful antique cream cabinets were once boring old honey oak. Dean added beautiful picture frame molding, built a refrigerator surround and a microwave cabinet. He installed a range hood and removed a soffit. They did so much more than just refinish our cabinets. There work is really top-notch. They completely transformed our kitchen! We are currently saving up to have them redo our mud room - I cant wait!

Dean and Kathy Showalter’s work is amazing! We were browsing the internet looking for someone exactly like what their company does, to refinish our cabinets in our kitchen. Because they sounded exactly like what we were looking for, we went ahead and booked them. They did not disappoint!! Dean and Kathy were everything they said they would be: timely, (notified us always in an even of change in time), efficient, meticulous, thorough, and overall, wonderful to have in our home. Both of them are so friendly and reliable, we weren’t even uncomfortable having them in our home to continue the work while we were on vacation for a week. Before the work started, they came to our house a few times to discuss the plan, show us samples and even encouraged us to follow-up on referrals from any an all previous clients. Their work was outstanding too- we now have beautiful, white (our choice) cabinets that completely transformed the room! The paint on them is incredible, (we have Oak cabinets and Dean needed a few extra coats of paint on them to make the grain blend a little more) and he continued to work until he was satisfied with them. Considering my husband works like that too, it was so relieving to find someone to do our cabinets who turned out to exceed our expectations. Thanks again Dean and Kathy! -Nick and Kim

Dean and Kathy Showalter combine old world craftsmanship with new world technology and the end result is truly beautiful. Our kitchen has been transformed into something that is now showroom quality! They are true professionals and their work ethic is beyond reproach. The entire job ran smoothly from start to finish, no mess, no fuss, and no delays. We explored other options including those offered by the big box stores and even doing the work ourselves. In the end, quality and craftsmanship won out and we selected KS of Geneva to do the renovation. The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and we could not be happier. KS Design was the best referral my friend ever passed our way! I had been "shopping around" for almost a year, interviewing numerous cabinet refinishers but had yet to find the right fit. The professionalism and quality of Kathy and Deans work far surpassed all the other companies out there. Not only did they have the best price (they were the only company that included crown moldings and other finishing touches as standard in the original bid) I also felt more comfortable knowing who was going to be in my house instead of a work "crew." Talented, professional, clean and friendly pretty much sums up our very enjoyable experience. The kitchens transformation exceeded our expectations; we highly recommend their services. Professional, caring and really knowledgeable on their craft. We searched many but found none better. Their passion for what they do really bleeds thru in their work and their attitude, not found in most professions today but Dean and Kathy shine. It has been four months since they fininshed and we have not had to call them back for anything. They even changed plans on the run for us without a hitch, just a smile. My text here cannot reveal how much we appreciate them and their work. I would recommend them to anyone who would ask. Fair pricing, high quality and hard working. Honest as the day is long. Very pleased with the quality of workmanship that went into our project and the work was done within the timeline they gave us. Kathy & Dean actually do all the work themselves and they are very professional and down to earth couple.
