*Shortened some sentences to make more room. Facility wise, this place deserves 5 stars. Deville, one of the employees, deserves a million stars. The billing process, gym manager Shawn Zimmerman & the front desk, early AM employee, Brian deserves ZERO stars. In October, FitNation changed their billing system and our billing information had an error. Fine, done and over with. Shawn the manager fixed it and assured us it was an issue on their end and we wont see any issues moving forward. Well come November a Membership Services Specialist, Yesenia Cerda, wrote me an email on 11/2 stating that our billing wasnt processed. I wrote back and asked her to check their system because it was on their end in October. I NEVER heard from her or anyone until the manager, Shawn Zimmerman, called me on Wednesday, 11/9. He says that the bank keeps denying the charge and he knows it is not insufficient funds because it would come up if it was. Shawn says to bring in a voided check as "no one ever has issues when they use the routing/account number instead of a card" which as you will soon read, is not the case or the truth. I did as told and brought my voided check in on 11/10. On 11/10 the girl at the desk says she doesnt even need the check and had me fill out a form. On 11/11, the gentleman at the desk tells me we have to update our billing again and havent paid. We had to explain EVERYTHING to him. Come Monday, 11/14, we get to the gym and Brian at the front desk scans us in and says, "Im not letting you in, you havent paid" as snooty as he could. We had to AGAIN re-explain the situation as we had to do in October and each time we have gone so far in November. I explained everything to Brian and reminded him that IF it were our fault, we are refused access only if payment isnt received by the 15th. I said today is the 14th. He looked at is computer and said, "Oh yeah, youre right." He was uneducated of their own policy. He goes on to say that our updated billing was never activated. by their employee. SERIOUSLY?! Before he opened his mouth to accuse us of not paying and refusing us access, he should have checked things out first. By this time, there were about 4 people behind us listening to him accuse us of not paying. We called the gym manager, Shawn Zimmerman, again today only to find out hes out until Friday. The Front Desk Manager offered us guest passes for the inconvenience. How will giving OTHER people free passes makes up for what they have done TO US?! EDIT 11/18/16: Fit Nation finally activated the billing that they failed to do LAST WEEK and got their payment on Tuesday 11/15. Today, 11/18/16, we come in and Brian at the front desk tells us that our member id cards are inactive and incorrect in the system. Explain to me how they were valid ALL this time that they continued to fail at billing us correctly, how they were valid on Monday the 14th when Brian attempted to deny us access to the gym, and all of a sudden today the cards dont work. This is ridiculous. We havent heard back from Shawn Zimmerman yet today as was promised to us, so I called him. He didnt answers and a front desk person said that he ended up taking today off... WHAT A COINCIDENCE. Of course, nothing has been resolved. This is a joke. EDIT 11/21/16: Shawn followed up with me. Only an apology was initially offered so I asked for another month free as the promises made were not followed through. Shawn made a promise that he was personally keeping an eye on the issue and would make sure we have no further issues, and it only spiraled downhill from there but he was not able to keep his word. Shawn says he does not know why our ID cards were considered invalid. He says he is meeting with Brian to discuss his approach on the issue about denying us access. Shawn is giving us Dec. free but before agreeing to do so, he said, "I can refund you this month since it doesnt sound like its a good fit" after I mentioned Id add my review on other sites. Not verbatim, but it sounded as if he was hinting to cancel our membership due to bad reviews!

The facility is huge and has alot to offer, indoor pool, plenty of machines and a wide variety of classes. The reason for my rating is the customer service. I had every intention of joining this gym but was floored at how I was treated by the staff. The person at the front desk barely acknowledged my presence and had a bad habit of speaking with his hands when I asked where things were. I had to aak because he offered NO information about where to go, location of classes, bathrooms, etc (did I mention this was my first time visiting?) He also appeared busy, which confused me because there was no line. I asked to speak to someone regarding membership.... after waiting for the sales rep to finish a conversation with other employees, I felt as though she was rushing me through the process and did not once offer a tour of the facility, which surprised me since I was obviously a guest. The impression I got was, she either wasnt thay interested in gaining a member or doubted my interest. Again the facility in itself was impressive but the customer service skills were severely lacking.

Both FitNation facilities are incredible. The big facility on Nations Drive has EVERYTHING from excellent child care, amazing Group Ex instructors (according to my wife) and like over 100 classes per week, huge selection of weights, cardio machines, etc. pool (and they even have lifeguards - nice touch) is clean with hot tubs and there is a steam room and sauna in each locker room. The park district keeps introducing new equipment and amenities to constantly improve. The other location on Hunt Club Rd. Is equally as nice just a little more intimate. Still everything you need for a great workout AND a track! The flexibility of the two facilities and wide open hours of operation are great. You will find no better bang for your buck!

"Leadership and Management flows from the top down" Fit is a very well run establishment. The staff is always smiling, turnover is minimal, and its an amazing welcoming place. Regardless of your health and fitness level, me personally being an out of shape, middle aged woman, have always felt that the staff is willing to do anything to help me. Every staff member I encounter from the floor staff, the cleaning staff, the lifeguards, the instructors, the desk staff and The personal trainers all say how happy they are with their job at Fit. A special thank you and note of appreciation goes to Shawn Zimmerman for your incredible leadership, availability to members and always willing to help solve any issues that may arise"

The customer service is appalling here. The only people on staff who can cancel a membership do not return calls and repeatedly ignored our attempt to reach them for two days. ( My husband and I arw moving out of state) Each time we called we were assured that they were at their desks and not currently on a call and each time we were sent to voicemail. Our calls were never returned. We have been loyal customers for over a year but with this sort of customer service I would not recommend this gym to anyone.
