Crunch is a great gym as far as gyms go. The equipment at the Mount Prospect branch is relatively new and in great condition. They do a great job of keeping it clean. A few minor complaints would be that when I signed up I was promised a free session with a personal trainer. They, of course, tried to get me to sign up for additional sessions, but once I told him I was unable to afford a personal trainer, the trainer lost interest in my free session. After multiple reschedules because he was busy, he did finally give me a place to start, so I had a little bit of guidance, I just expected more. Overall Id still recommend, just dont bother with the free session unless youre actually interested in long-term PT commitment.

Crunch is the best of the low-cost gyms. The $10 membership gets you access to a bunch of cardio and resistance machines and a huge free weight area. There are enough of each type of machine or free weight so that you dont have to wait to use them. And since the Mount Prospect location is brand new, so are all the machines. For your viewing pleasure there are hi-def TVs to look at. The $20 membership gets you all that plus classes, hydro-massage, tanning and access to personal trainers. The locker room is big (but the lockers are beat up and not as big as Id prefer) and it has plenty of showers, a steam room and a sauna. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

This facility is usually very clean and not crowded. I joined before the "hard opening" and the staff was always very nice. They greeted me as I walked in and said "have a nice day" as I left. For the last few weeks, Ive noticed that I havent once been greeted and no one says anything as I leave. Now, that isnt a make or break, but it is definitely something that I noticed. As I walk in, the man or woman is usually on their computer and doesnt even make eye contact - even though Im very obviously trying to. Again, this isnt going to make me leave, but I hope that their growing popularity doesnt allow them to let their employees give poor customer service.

Signed up with Groupon for 3 month membership. The man who signed me up had an attitude just because of that! Hey, if you sign up for Groupon I thought it was because you want to get people to try you out to see how awesome Crunch is and then WANT to get a full membership! Same man also complained, I was supposed to be only getting a 1 month membership, but Groupon screwed that up. WOW, so that is MY fault? Ok, not a good start. I wish I could say it got better. It didnt. When you got BAD operations from the top down, is it any wonder after my 3 months I would NEVER set foot in there again.

I sign up with crunch in may 2016 when they had the free trip to vegas and they said i will receive my free tickets in the mail and i ask about my free trip to vegas a month later and they gave me two free nights for vegas in a hotel. So i said to them that this is not a free trip to vegas and they said that is a free trip. SMH. NOW ANYBODY WOULD KNOW THAT A FREE TRIP MEANS TRANSPORTATION. I was missed lead and thats call false advertising. Im still thinking about law suit.

This is a pretty nice gym. They have a good variety of equipment and keep a clean environment. Great for people that want to get in and out. Staff is very friendly. The only major downside: they try really hard to up sell you a membership when signing up. For example on their website it lists the monthly options, however, when you go to sign up suddenly there is a "sign-up" fee of a $100 for the basic membership.

Best gym in the vicinity.. So affordable that you cant make money an excuse to ditch your fitness schedule. And with all world class equipments and facilities, this place is a heaven for fitness freaks. If you dont know what to do there at first place, take help of their personal training programs.. Quite affordable and effective.. And the group classes, included in your membership are amazing. Love the place

Just signed up and saved $40 paying for the year. The owners took over the old Ballys space, and not much was renovated. The bathrooms were not much to begin with so no changes there. Its great that theres a steam room/sauna and new machines. The staff was friendly and it seems more spacious with classrooms instead of the swimming pool. Definitely would recommend to a friend.

Signed up for a guest pass that was meant for a week, walked in and the front desk demanded that I pay $10 to cover the pass... Nothing in the email that I received explicitly stated that I needed to pay any sort of fee to cover my guess pass only that I could exchange the week pass for a one day one. Extremely rude management. Going to make a formal complaint as well.

I love the functional area. I have a membership to other clubs but this is the only one I use. They have bumper plates and platforms. It is also very affordable. Please charge me more and do something about those restrooms and showers, they look old, outdated and dirty. If it werent for this I would have given 5 stars.

Love this place. Cheaper than anything in the area. Sauna/steam, huge, clean/new machines, tan/massage/classes/bring a guest anytime, for cheaper than any place Ive seen. Staff has been great. Was getting agitated like a guy above, as I had signed up a month pre-open. But they did a great job, it was well worth the wait.

Big, spacious, clean. Not enough free weight benches when its very busy, but the main manager Joe makes an effort to listen to complaints. So even though the teenagers they hire arent the most hands on employees, theyre sweet, and I would say this place has good customer service. And its cheap af.

I signed up with a groupon which was supposed to be good for 3 months. They charged me $25 after the first month and then again another $40 the third month. They claim they cant credit the money back either which in my opion is bad business!!! Beware when using groupons here!!!

The equipment is still new and in working condition. The locker room is the old Ballys locker room and is not well taken care of by the staff. The management has made some questionable hires. OK for the price, but they definitely were much better when they first opened!

Great atmosphere and gym! First gym Ive attended outside school. I travel about 15 minutes to go here instead of xsport. People here are awesome and willing to help and share. Its been a little over 3 months that I started and have not one single complaint.

Its clean and filled with a ton of resistance band machines if youre into those but dont expect it to be anything like an XSport or etc. You get what you pay for. EDIT: Now allowed to bring a guest.
