I had a frustrating experience with FedEx Ground recently. Part of this was due to the company I ordered from, but there were two facts about FedEx that I recently discovered which I feel are important to share. I recently ordered some computer equipment from Samsung. I did not have the option to hold my package at a FedEx store. I contacted FedEx to see if theyd be able to route it to a store since I work during the day and they could not because the shipper did not authorize it. Instead they could put in a request for a late delivery time (between 7 and 8 PM). Delivery day arrives, FedEx "closes" my delivery request and attempts a morning delivery at 10AM (9 hours early). Im not home so they tag the box. Contacted FedEx again and they explained that they did not know why the request was closed, but they could put through another request for the next day. Second delivery attempt the next day and they attempt a morning delivery again. At this point, I call FedEx and they explain that they can put through a request for a delivery time, but FedEx can close it if it interferes with the route. Good to know that requesting a delivery window is irrelevant. I then attempt to have the shipment routed to a store near me. I contacted Samsung and spoke to a rep. Together we spoke to FedEx, but we were informed that Samsung was not the shipper, Ingram Micro was. They provided a number for Ingram Micro which I proceeded to call. However, it was the wrong number. I searched for a support number for Ingram Micro on the internet and called a couple of numbers I located, but I could not get through to the right person. I call FedEx again to explain that I cannot reach the original shipper, but it doesnt matter. My only option is to be home to sign for it or pick it up at the facility which I would have to drive to (I do not own a car). I decide to WFH the next day so that I can be there to sign for it. I open my front blinds, unlock my front gate, and sit patiently near my front window so that I do not miss the driver. A FedEx Truck never comes down my block, never comes to my door, but I receive a notification that a delivery attempt was made. However, there was no tag on my front box. I call FedEx yet again, explain the full story, and the very kind rep calls the shipping facility to see if they can send the driver back. They took down my number and told me that someone would contact me shortly. 15 minutes later a dispatcher calls me, and explains that an attempt was made, but they would have the driver attempt again. I explain that I was home all morning sitting by my window, front gate open, and that no one ever came or attempted delivery. A tag was not left. The dispatcher informed me that the driver knew the package he was speaking of and that my residence was skipped because my front gate was locked the previous two attempts. Unbelievable. So, thats the story, here are the facts about this facility: 1. FedEx will not honor timed delivery requests. 2. If you have a front gate, they may not even bother trying to deliver a package even though they exist solely to deliver packages.

Fed ex is extremely unreliable. I was expecting a package to be delivered to my apartment. I am disabled and cannot retrieve the 40 lb package by myself. I called FedEx the day before and was reassured that the package would be brought to my door. A package of perishable food was left in the lobby. The driver never rang my doorbell. Numerous calls to FedEx provided no assistance. Nothing but

This facility doesnt ship on time, always slow in shipping a next day air package. Before my facility was the one near Ohare airport, then they made this new one my delivery carrier and I always have issues with them delivering my packages on time.

I wouldnt tell anyone to use Fedex. Lagrange has very poor customer service. Im still waiting a package to be delivered from Nov 28. Still waiting on a manager to call me. No package and call....DO NOT USE FEDEX POOR SERVICE

Horrible service. They took forever with my package after not following instructions about dropping it off properly. If you want your packages on time, Id use UPS.
