****Please take time to read this, it can save you money**** I do not recommend anyone to go to this auto shop, in fact I urge you not to go. This was the most horrible shop I’ve ever been to. First, the people here do not know what they are doing, not even the owner, and I have proof to back that up. This shop is overpriced so trust me; you will save money somewhere else. The amount they charged to “fix” my truck was outstanding plus they didn’t fix it. In fact they damaged it even more than it was and what they did would have cost me a fortune in the long run. In the simplest way, I am going to tell you what happened to me. It was my first visit there and my check engine light went on so I had them inspect it which cost me $35. The mechanic told me that I needed to replace m y ignition coil which would cost me $285 minus the $35 which they took off my final price. I checked with another mechanic and that job would have cost me $230 total. So Midwest over charged me. After they fixed my ignition coil for my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, my truck wasn’t running the same. It started have shaking problems and starting problems and I couldn’t even drive on the expressway because it started shaking so much and that never happened before they fixed it so I knew they did something wrong. I went to another mechanic I trusted and he told me that they put an ignition coil for a 2000 Jeep not a 1999! I saw the difference and it is a huge difference. The wiring is extremely different for a 2000 than a 1999. The ignition coils look the same but the part where the plug goes in is different. I had it fixed with that mechanic because Midwest obviously doesn’t know what they did wrong. So I called Midwest and spoke with the owner. To my surprise, he didn’t even know the difference of the 1999 and a 2000 ignition coil. He told me I was wrong. He refused for me to go and show him the part because he said he didn’t trust me and it might have been tampered with. Really? What kind of place does he run? He did not want to take responsibility that he was wrong and his mechanic screwed up. Do you think I want to go back to a place that doesn’t even know the difference between parts and the effects it can have on a vehicle? The owner didn’t even know that the parts were different and said all the engines run the same (obviously not), so even if I would have taken my truck to them they wouldn’t have detected the problem and probably make some other problem up just so I can spend more money. In the end, I had to spend more money to fix something Midwest did wrong. I beg you not to go here. You will lose money. All this shop cares about is making money; they do not care about their customers at all, considering it was first time there. Save your time and do not bother. I know of a great mechanic who does a job well done because he found what the mechanics at Midwest did wrong and after he fixed it, it was running like it used to (it was a big difference).
