I did not have a very pleasant experience at the salon today. I spent about $50 on a hair cut that was too short and not what I had asked for and color that came out awful. I naturally have light/medium brown hair and came in with slightly grown out, blonde highlights and asked to get my hair dyed brighter and lighter than my natural color. They bleached my roots so that my hair was more even then applied another darker color on top of that all over. They rinsed out the color and my roots came out orange (which is exactly what I told them not to do) and the rest was too light. They did another color treatment to try to correct what they did but it only made a small difference. I was not charged for the "fix" and was told that I could come back and spend another $8 within the week if I wanted them to "fix" it again. I understand that I am letting a student do my hair but when the teacher says they should have done something else, it is a little frustrating. I was clearly very upset about the situation and they showed no empathy nor did they apologize for any inconvenience. I have gone here many times before but today was definitely my last.

I have had the experience going through Paul Mitchell the school Normal as a student as well as the learning leader in training program. I would HIGHLY recommend this school to anyone looking to get into the beauty industry or looking to further their education as a cosmetologist already. The atmosphere is very uplifting as well as receiving the best education unlike anywhere else. There are constantly guest speakers from top Paul Mitchell artists coming to teach the newest and best trends. As a learning leader in training I have been able to work with students hands on and feel 100% prepared for my job as a learning leader with Paul Michell. Paul Mitchell the school Normal does not feel like a school, more like a home. The staff members here are amazing and know everything there is to know! If you are serious about a career in cosmetology this is definitely the place to go in all of IL!!

I cannot say enough great things about this school! The service is wonderful, the people are fantastic, and they do an AMAZING job doing hair! I have been a happy and returning customer for over 7 years and have never had a bad experience. You can choose to work with a Phase 1 or 2 professional, they give you a consultation on what you want done, have a teach confirm your plans, and then they work their magic! My most recent experience was with Bailey, who graduates this week and she was absolutely wonderful. This is a great school made up wonderful and very knowledgeable teachers. And because it is a school, youll save money. Typically, the rule of thumb is “you get what you pay for." However, Paul Mitchel proves that statement wrong. Not only will you save money, but the quality will be beyond your expectations. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I came in two weeks ago and had a double process done which made my hair VERY blonde! I REALLY loved it and was thrilled when I left the salon, unfortunately my hair didnt take the color well and a few days later it took on a yellow shade. Paul Mitchell worked with me asto get me scheduled to have the color fixed. I went in this evening with Amber G. And she did a great job with adding some darker low-lights to break up the yellow/blonde color. After, she did a great job letting me know what products she really thought I could use without using a high-pressure sales pitch. Overall I am very pleased with the services I have received and will definitely be going back in the future. I really appreciate their willingness to keep seeing me until I was 100% happy with my color.

So this review is long over do but i have never written a review. Nor have I had a reason to write one. Today was my third trip to the Paul Mitchell School and the third time my stylist was Katie Hartnett. Each time Katie has been professional, understanding of what I want done and confident in regards to executing it. She takes the time to make sure that each experience leaves both of us happy and she has succeed each time with flying colors. I cant remember the last time I have had someone consistently cut my hair and I will be sad when she graduates and moves on but have no doubt she will be awesome where ever she lands. Katie is a true asset to the Paul Mitchell Company! Awesome job again, Katie! Thanks for the trim!

I had been wanting to try out the services at the Paul Mitchell School, and finally got around to having a facial there after scoring a "Todays Deal" voucher on the Pantagraph website. Wasnt sure what to expect, but with the deal, it only cost me $15 for a one-hour facial, and it turned out to be incredible! It was so relaxing, my skin looked and felt great afterward, and I was surprised to see that they use some pretty high-end products (Dermalogica). Nichole, the student who performed my facial, was near the end of her training, and amazingly pleasant and professional. If you want a knockout facial without shelling out $150, I highly recommend giving this place a chance - already looking forward to my next visit!

I have now been to Paul Mitchell twice & saw Taylor Sauder. Both experiences were great and all the staff & instructors were very sweet and helpful! The first time I went in and had my hair dyed for the very first time ever, as well as a trim and I got my eyebrows waxed. Loved the way it all turned out! I just went again last weekend and got my roots touched up and my hair cut and I couldnt be happier with the way it turned out! Taylor also does a very good job managing her time with her clients! I would trust Taylor with any cut, color, style... You name it! She does a fabulous job and I would suggest her to anybody!

Great place for getting a haircut if you can afford some extra time. I was treated with respect and care. The students who do the haircut are well trained and are very thoughtful and careful in performing the haircut. I found many times they stop and check with their tutor expert to make sure they are progressing correctly. As they are learning in the process they are extra careful and so the haircut always comes out very nice whenever I go to them. I stopped going anywhere else for around a year since I found them. I love the Mens $5 special which runs on Wednesdays. Kudos team ! and keep up the good quality ! .

Being a stereotypical guy Ive never stepped foot inside of a salon of any sort, but a friend convinced me to give this place a try. I was lucky enough to get Katie Hartnett. She asked me how I usually styled my hair, and I told her with a hat. I wasnt being much help, but she worked with me and we figured out a way to cut it and make it look good. It looked so good in fact we had to tell all the girls there that I was married just so I could get out of the door. It was seriously like one of those axe body spray commercials. Ok maybe that didnt happen. But Katie did an excellent job and I would definitely go back.
