After having quite the run in with a local dealership regarding some major repairs we decided to look at independent shops and were told on a popular Mercedes forum to check out MBS Automotive by multiple people. Telly is nothing short of amazing. from drop off to pick up the service was TOP NOTCH. This shop is extremely professional and the work ended up costing 1/3 of what any dealership could even come close to. Even though the trip is a bit of a trek from Wisconsin the service, staff, and communication are unbeatable anywhere else. MBS has gained a lifelong customer! Anyone needing service on Mercedes,BMW or Smart is getting my recommendation to take the trip down to IL and visit Telly @ MBS for all their needs!

Telly is the absolute best! He is extremely professional, always quotes prices and time frames accurately. He works by appointment and he gives your MB his full attention from start to finish. He also always goes out of his way to be cost effective and give the best price possible. For ever service (A or B), repair, even on Continentals (tires). He is very honest and tells you exactly what needs to be done now, what can wait, and for how long. I have been bringing my C 300 for service to Telly at MBS Automotive for a few years now. Telly is an great mechanic, and even more importantly, and HONEST one!! I brought my car in to him after it had been repaired by a body shop after an accident because it still didnt feel right. He found a number of things from the accident that were overlooked by the body shop. He was honest in telling me what needed to be fixed right away and what things were not critical and could what a little while. Instead of taking it back to the body shop to fight with them to cover the repairs for free, I felt better to just spend the money and have Telly fix it knowing it was going to be done right, and it was. I drive up from downtown Chicago because I refuse to let anyone else even touch my car now.

I have used MBS to service my Mercedes E 320 four different times in the past 3 years. Telly has always been fair in his pricing and very honest in what he has recommended. He has never tried to over- sell as the factory service has done numerous times in the past. The first time I brought my car to him with a few things that I had been told by the dealer were needed, Telly said that they we not needed at the time and now 3 years later they still werent needed. He is a very honest, conscientious, person that runs a very professional operation. I appreciate the fact that the work is always done on time and in a very clean environment. MBS Automotive is the only MB service shop that I trust to maintain my 2002 CLK 320 (217,000 miles). Telly has been been providing quality maintenance service on my MB for the last three years. The service prices are well below any local MB dealership service center. I had a "Check Engine Service" light repeatedly come on----MB dealership recommended replacing 3-4 components to remedy the problem. Telly diagnosed and repaired it for 30% of the cost of the dealership quote. Telly has even driven me to the local library so that I can wait for the service to be completed on repairs that are expected to take a couple of hours or longer. First class operation.

I recently moved here from the east coast, and I called this shop after researching local Mercedes service providers in the lake Forest area. I had a bit of an emergency and the owner accomodated me right away, which I deeply appreciated. I have lived all over the country, and dealt with many dealerships/private shops catering to Mercedes and other premium and collector vehicles, and have rarely recieved such excellent service and attention to detail, as I received at this business. My experiences at MBS have been very positive since the first time they fixed my car. Most of the time they came under their initial quote, which was already a lot lower than any others in the area I live in. They did fix my car oil leakage problems with fixing up my car on the same day. Thats how I feel business should be done - dont over-promise and under-deliver. Considering that most repair experiences are below average for me, this was basically a dream. I do have three vehicles to be serviced regularly there, I would recommend them to my friends. So do they too!

A lot better than two mercedez dealers I tried - reasonable cost and very honest. I had my 1998 E320 4matic serviced here twice and very happy with the service. You can find honest tech. You can find skillful tech. But it is hard to find a tech who is honest and skillful. Terry has been always patient and honest explaining the issue and giving me advice. The repair cost was very reasonable, too. My only complain is that it is hard to book an appointment because MBS is always busy due to their excellent service reputation. Keep up the good work, Terry!!

Telly is the best mechanic and honest business man I’ve come across in the automotive repair industry. I’ve been taking my three cars there over the past year including a 2008 320 BlueTEC, 2006 S500 and a 2009 VW Jetta TDI diesel. Over my four visits to his shop the cars have always been fixed the first time and he explains everything in detail making me very comfortable with the process. My dad once told me to find a good mechanic you can trust and who will explain to you what you need and why. Telly Heotis is that trusted person for my ML320. I bought it used from dealer in Gurnee and it was not inspected. Needless to say it needed some major work and he helped me through the process of prioritization as well as did excellent work at a fair price. I have been going to him ever since and will continue. I brought my car to Telly to be checked before I went back to school. I wanted to make sure everything was in check and that my car was road worthy for far travels. Telly didnt find anything major and only had a few minor suggestions. He corrected those minor changes and my car is like brand new. I trust that Telly was honest and didnt try to suggest anything I didnt need. Telly was very timely and responsive. He communicated with me throughout the day and was very easy to work with! MBS Automotive is a great place! We found out about MBS through a simple windshield flyer. At first I was scepticle, but after talking to Telly on the phone...I could tell that he was a legit guy. I work for a large company on the North Shore, and had come to find out that Telly already services several emplyees at my company. It has been several years now, and we have been nothing but great things to say. The work has been great, and the prices are very fair. You cant go wrong with MBS!
