They dont even deserve 1 star. I took my car in for wheel bearing replacement. I called ahead to inform them that repairs should be covered thru warranty, advised what time I would be able to make it in and was told come on in it shouldnt be a problem. Once I got there I was then advised because they were about to close and needed to get approval for the repairs they needed to keep my car over night and since Avirex was closed they would call them in the morning. Well they were nice enough to offer me a loaner. I just needed to return with the same amount of gas. When I got into the loaner it was on empty. I advised Scott and told him I would bring it back on empty. The loaner was filthy and smelled like cigarette smoke. The driver side window did not let down nor would the back door open on the driver side. I basically got a beater as a loaner. The next morning I had to call them to check the status of my car at which time they had not even called Avirex. I get a call back with a laundry list of "issues" for my car. They repaired my wheel bearing which to date is still making noises, and a gasket. Mysteriously within a week, my car starts smoking. I take it back and NOW I have oil and antifreeze leaking. Miraculously enough after they looked at it my car is no longer smoking. I will never take my car back to Midas EVER!!! I dont even want to take it back for them to repair the wheel bearing which is still making noise. Oh and when I told Scott about the horrible loaner car he just ignored me. Thanks Scott your customer service is the best and I still want my $10 for the gas I didnt use in the loaner.

My experience after I took my car with them: 1. - Price: the parts are SUPER inflated. I understand a 30% increase but how come you go from a 76.99 (Autozone) or 100 (ebay) to 197 with them. 159% &/or 97% more! The payment was way to high even when they give me some *specials* 2. Payment: I was told at the beginning and before they started working on my car that I could pay the total in payments. That I shouldn’t worry about it then I asked to start the paperwork at the beginning and he said that I shouldn’t worry for that. That we could work on that once the car was ready. (The fact of be able to pay in 6 months was the final point that convinced me to do the car with them. Even when I knew it was crazy pricy) when the time comes he mentioned me that it was a 3rd party institution the one giving the credit (not them ) and for that I had to go thought an approval process and since I’m new in this country of course I got my credit rejected and of course this guy was like “oh I’m sorry is not my problem you have to pay the full amount now” It’s such a low ball and a non-ETHICAL action at all convince customers by telling part of the story. And then pretend that nothing happened. Anil as the owner should be more ethical in the way he’s trying to get business. The rest of the guys were really polite and cool but that attitude of “I’m sorry is not my problem” coming from the owner is very wrong and really make me mad. Almost a 100% I’m not coming back to this place.

If there was a way to vote with no stars, I would have. Where to begin? I was told after the diagnosis that they could have the fuel pump replaced by noon the next day, and they would call me by then. Noon comes and goes with no calls, so I call to get the status. It took almost an hour and several calls to finally get some kind of answer. Im told its in progress and should be done by 2pm. I head to the shop to wait. I get there and around two and find out that they had JUST STARTED. Soon after, Im told that in addition to the fuel pump, my tires also needed bearings. I wasnt sure about it, but the salesperson made it sound like my back tires were about to rip themselves off at high speed on the freeway. Needing to get home several states away, I said to go for it. Finally they get it done and its a little after 4. I pay and leave, and get about a mile down the road when the check engine light goes on and my car goes dead in the middle of traffic. Tried calling them back several times, only to get voicemail every time, which was weird because they were supposed to still be open for another 45 minutes. Finally manage to get the car started again and headed back. When I got there, the place was closed. This whole experience ended up being painful, as is $1500 and the job not finished painful.

I went in to see how much it would cost to get my brakes fixed. I was on a very tight budget but knew I needed my brakes fixed as soon as possible. I talked to Scott and he informed me that the car was in worse condition than I had imagined and the cost to fix it was about $600 over my price range. I told him that I wouldnt be able to do it but that I appreciated them checking it out. He voiced genuine concern in telling me that he would feel bad giving it back to me in that condition, brakes arent something you want to gamble with. He told me he would see what he could do and call me back. I assumed he wouldnt be able to go that much lower but when he called back he gave me a price that was in my range! I was so happy. They did a great job fixing the problem, it drives like new (or rather stops), and they even finished it about an hour and a half earlier than he thought they would. He said he put two mechanics on it. Overall a great experience. Car maintenance is a huge headache but the guys at Midas really do help out. I will definitely be heading to Midas next time I need a repair or maintenance done on my Jeep. I recommend you give them a shot if you are also looking for a place!

Worst Midas Ive ever been to. Lets see where do I start, the lobby is tiny, some of the staff seem low class. They charge ridiculous rates to get anything fixed. Every single time I go there for an oil change they come back with a list of supposed things that need to be fixed and quoted for half the value of my car. Yeah right, for once Id just like to go in there for a simple oil change without being harassed about what needs to be fixed. Also they once took a look under the hood of my old car and when they drove it back out front for me to leave, as Im driving home the car is running really rough. I stop on the side of the road and the idiots didnt put the sparkplugs back in. CAN YOU IMAGINE? WHAT KIND OF PLACE OPENS THE HOOD OF YOUR CAR, REMOVES THE SPARKPLUGS AND DOESNT EVEN PUT THEM BACK IN WHEN CLOSING THE HOOD? Avoid this place, its terrible. The staff is sleazy and the service sucks. The Midas on Dundee rd. in Palatine is a far better place where youre actually treated as a respected customer and the place is a lot better maintained.
