I had never been here before; previously all of my work had primarily been handled by the dealer. I had an issue with the car leaking coolant with no real visible signs of where it was leaking. Was concerned that a trip to the dealer would be rather costly for a 15 year old vehicle with 150k miles. Have to say, that I am happy I chose Stephens Automotive- as they truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, felt like a valued customer. Small things such as offering a ride to where I needed to go, a bottle of water or iced tea, and a promise of when my vehicle was going to be looked at and how they would diagnose were telling of the type of shop Joe runs. The diagnosis included a comprehensive check of the vehicle that went beyond most shops in that they include pictures of the part that is bad. They send a link to your phone or computer and you can see the report and pictures before you authorize the repairs. They gave me the quote on what it would cost to repair, and performed the work- delivering the car on time and at the price quoted. Will definitely be using them again for any service that I may be needing.

I have had the pleasure of taking my cars to Stephens Automotive for a few years now and I will never go anywhere else. The service you get is the best around, Steve the service writer always takes care of me, Joe the owner is always there to talk with which I think is great. The technicians that they have working there are some of the best in the industry and my cars are always fixed right the 1st time. Just wanted to say thanks Stephens for being a honest repair shop. I took my vehicle in to be serviced and Chris behind the counter took care of me. He was very polite and extremely knowledgeable. The staff was very nice and offered me coffee and snacks as I waited for my car to be worked on. They were extremely professional and answered all my questions and walked me through what was needed. I will recommend Stephens Automotive to anyone I meet. Great place, great staff, great service! 5 Stars was not enough to describe my experience.

They are honest in their recommendations and do great, thorough work for great prices. I have been to many shops over the years and I would have to say Stephens staff has by far!!! Surpassed the rest. they are honest and friendly and the price is always accurate with no surprises. Stephens Automotive has the best auto service in Palatine. They are the only mechanic shop I trust with my families cars. They are able to repair both foreign and domestic autos from my Ford to the wifes BMW I always get a fair price and excellent service. They dont sell me anything I dont need and a price is always agreed to before any work is started. In short they offer both great staff and quality work.

This is the best place around to get your car serviced. You have a problem and they go out of their way to help you out. Great service at great prices. Always done on time or before.
