Just recently I finished upgrading suspension on my modified Nissan 300zx. With a ton of critical suspension parts replaced and adjusted only by "eyeballing", I needed a proper alignment service. My car is lowered and I was worried it would have trouble getting on a conventional above-ground alignment rack. A quick google search revealed a few shops in Chicago area that had in-ground alignment racks. Having briefly reviewed information available online about these places, I decided Advanced Auto Repair would be my best shot. Being a mechanic myself, I am always skeptical of someone else touching my cars. This time I had no choice because I do not have access to alignment equipment. Trying to be cautious, I chose to schedule my service appointment in person. I wanted make sure I am dealing with a serious business, and feel the atmosphere. The service advisors were very polite and welcoming. Without rushing me or putting words in my mouth they took the time to talk to me, listened to my concerns, showed me their alignment equipment and explained they can handle any alignment job as they deal with lowered cars and custom alignments daily. On the day of my service I met the technician and he did not disappoint either. He was very professional and covered all the basics prior the aligning the car (test drive, tire pressure adjustment, etc...). Also his fluency at operating the rack indicated experience. What really made me appreciate his work was his preciseness when making the adjustments. He made sure everything was exactly spot on and not just in the ball park. Ive had bad experiences with some shops in the past which made me skeptical and careful. I am very glad I took my car to Advanced Auto Repair in Palatine. I have driven my car for 2 weeks now since I had it aligned and it handles sharp, drives straight and stable. I am definitely very satisfied with service and treatment I received for a fair price. I will not hesitate to recommend this business to friends. I am sure you can find a cheaper alignment service elsewhere but I found out you only get what you pay for, and I like what I got.

Ive got to say, dropping my car off here was the best and easiest experience Ive ever had at an auto mechanic. I got 4 tires mounted and alignment done, plus an oil change for convenience sake. The folks at the front desk were friendly and answered all of my questions - which was a blast, because I dont know that Ive ever had an easy time at the front desk of a mechanics shop! So, for the work, the tires were mounted perfectly, no problems there. They even flipped the oil has been changed switch which turns off the warning like in the cabin, which some mechanics miss. The price came out a bit higher than I expected, but I tacked on the alignment not really knowing what it was. Im familiar enough with cars to know that you need an alignment after a tire change, but I didnt know that it was a sort of involved process. Involved is expensive. Oh well, estimate was accurate, staff was totally honest about what the car needed, and I appreciate both of those things. Will be using Advanced in the future!

These guys run a fantastic repair shop. Bring your car here! My car was towed to a chain repair shop; they would not release the car until the repair bill was made. The owner of AAR offered to cut the chain manager a check and include the towing charge in my final bill. Thats the way to run a business. They took apart my car engine, discovered the problem, and gave me an estimate of cost. The charge was not cheap, but they considered any and all other repairs that would need to be made in order to make the most of the effort. My car was tied up for just under a week, and they were able to get me a loaner vehicle to lessen my expense. Theyre funny, friendly, knowledgable, and have their customers best interest in mind. I will DEFINITELY be bringing my vehicle here for any and all car concerns. If you need a repair, do not hesitate to bring yours! Thanks for making a stressful time incredibly less stressful!

I had a tire blow out late in the afternoon. Based on all my previous experience with Advanced, I knew I wanted them to replace it so I had it towed there. I talked to Dave and explained I needed the car by 11am the next morning. He said they would not be able to get a matching tire in until the morning, but he would work hard to get it done in time. Truth was, I was a little concerned they would not have the car ready for me and I really needed the car by 11am as I was planning on using that car to drive round trip down to Bloomington Indiana. At 9:30am the next morning, Dave called and said the car would be ready by 10am. Once again the team at Advanced delivered on their promise. I picked up the car, drove it to Bloomington Indiana and back that same day. Thanks Dave....

Went here to get my brakes done. Came in the next day for the estimate. All 4 tires were off my car and it was up on the jack lift. Guy in the front of the store told me 3 other things wrong with my car and wanted $2500 to fix. Went in the back to talk to the mechanic because I couldnt believe it and wanted all the details. Had a talk with the guy in the front of the store. Thought I was courteous. Did not appreciate his foul language or the fact that they were "preventative fixes" and nothing was really wrong with the car at the time. Waited for them to put my car back together and get it off the lift, then I drove it home.

My wifes air conditioning was broken. We took it back to the dealership...not fixed. We had a coupon to go to Caseys Automotive, but it was only for one specific thing. What if that was not the problem? At Advanced Auto Repair, not only did the figure out what the problem was, but their price was cheaper than the coupon we had to Caseys Automotive. Everyone there is friendly. Everyone! These guys are not going to screw you over and tell you other there is a unicorn in your fuel tank and that it will cost $7,000 to fix it. If you want great service, and great work, come here.

My car would not start this morning. Of course it was all due to operator error, I left my lights on all night. The first thing I thought of was Advanced Auto Repair located at 300 Colfax St, Palatine, IL. All I can say is I didnt miss a beat this morning, they came right away and my car was started in a moment. These guys are courteous, knowledgeable and best of all HONEST!!! I have been going to Advanced for years, from oil changes to tires to brakes. Thank you Rod and Advanced for the GREAT customer service that you continue to provide!

Expensive, piss poor workmanship, Car was overheating, had head gaskets and radiator replaced big $$$$$$, Radiator? When car was returned, No Electric fan, failed to reconnect, Leaking Power steering pump; new hose clamps their quote to fix $384.00 for a $60.00 pump and a hour labor??, No Air conditioning, Crank pulley not torqued down, could have caused catastrophic damaged to the car. Disconnected window washer fluid tank. Stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!
