Went to this location for several months before moving into chicago for a year and was consistently struck by how unprofessional and immature the staff (sales, not front desk or cleaning staff) acts around guests. Now that Im back in the area Im happy to see friendly faces at the front desk but again cant believe what is considered okay behavior here. My friend tonight asked to use the body fat calculator and some sales guy yelled out a guess. Definitely higher than what the actual result was. Whoever originally handed my friend the thing thought it was cool to call back the body fat percent. Surely I dont need to explain whats wrong with that. Never assume someone is comfortable having their weight or body fat percent shouted across a room. Never assume someones goals at a gym. When I went for that free assessment (personal training sales pitch) the guy kept trying to what celebrity I want to look like (Jennifer Garner? J Lo?) Super mature approach to fitness... Anyway, great facilities but some of these employees make things uncomfortable enough to turn me away from this gym.

I love this location! Friendly, professional, and a very helpful staff that is always available. Very clean! Never had to wait for a machine, which is always nice, and the smoothy station is an awesome addition. The cost is not unreasonable and if youre thinking of getting some personal training, talk to Ryan he is very knowledgeable and will make sure you get hooked up with the right trainer that is a good fit for you and your specific needs! You have trainers to choose from and he will encourage you to alternate so you can decide for yourself who works best for you. Im training with Matt and personally I feel like he set a great pace for me! loving the results! I highly recommend you get some personal training especially for newbies or if you have been out of the gym a while like me. Theres nothing less effective than working out using equipment the wrong way. Good luck to everyone, hope this was helpful! BTW I almost went to a different club because of some of the bad reviews on here. Best advise I can give you is check it out for yourself!

Hours are terrible. For 30$ a month it should be 24 hours. If I lived closer to an xsport I would much rather go to that gym. Employees are heres. They often leave their cars parked in front of the entrance which makes entering the gym or driving around the parking lot a pain. Ive had a few times where Ive called in to ask about the exercise classes or if I have a general question and have been hung up on because the people at the front desk couldnt care less about their job and much less about customer service. Honestly if this wasnt the only large gym in my area I would have canceled my membership long ago. The ONLY good thing I have to say about this place is that the janitors do an excellent job of keeping everything clean. The rest of the employees are a waste

This gym is the worst LA Fitness Ive visited. Weights are not organized and placed back properly or not at all. The plywood/seats in the sauna are shaky and you get the feeling you just might fall in. The showers are filthy. The curtains are ripping apart and have black grime all over them, including the tiles. The first shower I stepped in was out of soap. Locker rooms were disgusting and looked like they havent been mopped in a while. This place is gross. All the employees sit on their desks showing off their muscles, instead of using them to put the weights back or cleaning the locker rooms. Dont come here. Next time Ill take the extra time to go the location in South Elgin.

This club is an absolute dump. HOT (probably over 80 degrees??) inside. The machines are filthy. When there IS a cleaning crew, they clean the machines while you are on them, seemingly distracted and/or slightly asleep...seem dangerous? ...I havent attempted using the pool as the machines are dirty enough, cant imagine what is living in that water. Thankfully it is SUPER cheap. Although, to be honest, I would gladly double my monthly payment to have machines that I dont have to clean myself BEFORE I even workout...and thats IF there are paper towels available to use.

Graham has been amazingly helpful. He took the time to answer my specific questions and explained things that I hadnt even thought to ask. He made it really easy for me to feel comfortable, and I truly appreciate the time he has invested to ensure that I have everything I need to be successful. I never felt pressured or rushed (which is incredibly important to me), but it just made sense to get started with LA fitness because of him. He set the bar high, so Im hopeful that everything else here will live up to that standard.

This gym is unbelievably filthy - by far the dirtiest gym Ive ever been to, and Ive been to many, many gyms so this is really saying something. You would expect much better from a big franchise gym like this. There was so much dust in the weight area that it must have been months since someone last cleaned the area. The floors in the mens locker room and showers was disgusting. Dont go to this gym unless youve got some great health insurance because its just a matter of time until you pick up something from this place.

Even 1 star is too much! As James Price said the "trainers and sales people constantly lie" easily. I wish I would read his review before using personal trainer! You cant cancel your 12 month contract which the sales person did not tell me clearly (it is 12 month contract and you cant cancel it). While I would want to register only for 4 sessions, now I will be charged $160 for 4 sessions, per month. Each session is 30 minutes which the sale person did not tell me again. It means you pay $80 per hour!

Very friendly staff. Always make you feel welcomed willing to work out with you to get you motivated and teach you what they know. Very clean place with clean functional equipment. Has everything you need to get into shape. I am so glad I joined and got a membership with LA Fitness. I wouldnt trade in my membership for any other gym. I actually look forward to working out and getting them gains as the staff calls it. Thanks for welcoming me in to the gym LAFitness staff yall are amazing.

Thanks to the handful of people like BJ the operations manager & his astute subordinates, that told me every time it would get done when it reality they were just playing me. I presume that changing my location is a daunting task & above your intellectual capacity. Please, worry no more! Ill go to your other sister location. I just wanted to say thanks & dont pay attention what to anybody says about you. To me yall rock bottom!

Its been amazing today with LA I was coming from another gym I was unhappy with and was taken back by how this company has put together their gyms. This location is amazing its so big with enough room along with the pool and new spa but most importantly what matted was Graham explaining everything and giving me and my family the best price that fit our needs, along with Daves warm welcome to myself and kids. If you need a gym here is where you need to bee.
