A couple of weeks ago i was down on my luck. I have been driving the same Chevy Corsica since i graduated high school. I graduated in 2005. So needless the say my honey wagon was almost a 1/4 century old. This was no run of the mill Corsica this was 1992 2.2L OHV manual Corsica. This was my work horse. I had many of memories in the back seat, the front seat, and passenger seat as well. Then about a year ago the Honey Wagon stopped producing honey. You see, the harsh Chicago winters took its toll on the Golden Pearl (that was her name) and she started to lose her front bumper. So being the Mcgiver and avid Myth Busters fan that I am I started to give her a face lift with Duct tape. The more and more duct tape i gave her the less honey she produced, It almost seemed that the Lady Bees would scatter at the site of this beautiful lady. So one day im getting me some food at Dominicks (frozen pizza, corn dogs and PB&J) pretty much anything a single lonely depressed bachelor would eat. I peel my self out of the Golden Pearl and find my scooter waiting for me in the cart coral. Lucky for me the cart boy didnt bring it in yet. And as im situating my self ( I like to ride side saddle of course. That way the ladies can really check me out. This young man approaches me and hands me my wallet. I guess it fell out of my fanny pack as i got out of the ride. He introduces himself and we have a friendly conversation all the way in. I go my way and he goes his and as i was loading up the Golden Pearl he approached me and handed me his business card and said if i was ever interested in upgrading to a new vehicle to visit him. So a couple weeks go by and i was going back and forth on the whole idea of giving up my baby. So one day I was driving by and decided to stop in and see if Brett Simonides was working, Sure enough this tall golden locks gentleman was, He actually greeted me at the door and instantly remembered me. We chat it up a little bit and he took me out and showed me their showroom and their used cars and of course their corvettes. How ever i was interested in the new chevy cruise. We found one that had all the bells and whistles. Brett was an excellent salesman and hooked me up with a deal! I swear i felt like i was stealing this car off the lot. I highly encourage anyone to visit this gentleman! He is a great and personable car sales man and he really takes care of his customers. I swear since i purchased the Cruise i have been getting "honey" on the regular. I actually met my girlfriend because she drives a cruise too. We instantly hit it off. So Brett Simonides changed my life for the better that one night in the Dominicks parking lot. Thank you Brett Simonides and I will send everyone your way! Take care of the Golden lady for me!

I took my car in with the Check Engine light on and was told it was an alarm that had occurred the previous time I took my car in, 6 months prior. When I asked about why it was not repaired then I got a response that it may be under extended GM extended warranty. After inspection, the service technician informed me that there was approximately $1600 worth of repairs needed. When I again brought up that this should have been fixed when under warranty he said that the issues would not have been identified. Of course not, since they had developed over the 6 months that the car had been in use without repair. He suggested he could turn off the engine light and I could "see how it goes". I am appalled that the suggestion was made to just turn off the light without repairing and wonder how many times this dealer solves problems that way without fixing them. At that point I got the manager called. They called GM and agreed they could repair the vehicle and I was told to bring it in the following Wednesday since parts had to be ordered. When I went back the service technician was no longer employed and the next person did not know what I was talking about. The service manager, Tony, was able to help me and knew about the issues. A rental car was supposed to be arranged for that day when I dropped off the car but was not available so I had to wait. When repairs were completed and I went to pick up the car, they keys could not be found for about 15 minutes. The reason I take my car to a Chevy dealer is to not be taken advantage of but it appears this can still happen. They since did repair the vehicle with GM paying for repairs but I will probably not be going back to this dealership.

I purchased my new Equinox 4 months ago and from that day until now working 60+ hours a week did not allow me much time to access DealeRater and present my feedback. However, in that time it gave me a greater appreciation of the vehicle I purchased and how pleasant/enjoyable the whole car buying experience was with Stasek Chevrolet and their Sales Consultant, Stacey Hall. The customer service in obtaining the vehicle I was looking for was excellent. Stacey Hall was very knowledgeable about all the vehicles in the Chevy line. He especially was able to answer all my questions regarding the 2014 Impala and the 2014 Equinox and point out the unique features in each. In addition, he patiently listened as I mentioned what was important to me and what was irrelevant in my search for a new car. His search of dealer stock revealed that Stasek did not have the exact match in vehicle options and color that I was looking for but instead of pushing the stock on hand, most of which had more costly options, he willingly offered to search other dealers stock to successfully find my exact match. It was as if I special ordered a car to my exact specifications. He worked on my behalf to get me the best price possible on my trade in as well as for the new vehicle. I was very happy and will gladly recommend Stasek and Stacey Hall to anyone who is looking for a new car. Stacey Hall was knowledgeable, attentive, respected my requests, did not oversell and went the extra mile to get me what I wanted not what someone thought I wanted. In short he was a breed of auto salesman that I have rarely encountered in over 40 years, and 10+ vehicles, of car buying experience.

The Service Department is grossly incompetent. I would never bring my vehicle back here, even if they paid me. The first issue was when I came in to get my 1st free oil change, since I bought the car through them. I explicitly told the tech I wanted full synthetic put into my car. He told me Id have to pay the difference, which is more than understandable. When I went to go pay, there was no charge. I asked the cashier if full synthetic was put into my car and she replied "yes" and pointed out the line item. Great! Or so I thought. I come in for my 2nd free oil change, tell the tech the same thing, tells me I have to pay the difference. Get up to the cashier, all of a sudden there is a charge. I tell her my story, but nothing gets done. I end up paying the charge. Whatever. Leave a note on their website and get a call, basically saying they "probably" didnt put in full synthetic the first time. The guy (I think he was even a Stasek), did nothing to make me feel better about the issue except for waste my time and tell me something I already knew. But I brought my car in again, this time to get the passenger mirror replaced. Bad idea. See, the thing is, I moved away from the area, nearly 200 miles, so when Im in the suburbs, not only did I ensure I bought my car from here, I used to make sure I came here to get serviced. Not anymore. Because they cant even put the door panel back on correctly after fixing the mirror!!! I am so done with this place. Please avoid their service department like the plague. On a side note, Ive never had an issue with the Sales Department. Theyve always been phenomenal!
