I havent got the chance to use their service because they turned me down long before that. I called to consult whether they offer tire changing service. The guy who picked up the phone said he didnt understand what I was talking about. I apologized for my accent (though I have been here for 7 years and speak English fluently) and spelled the word "tire" for him. He sighed and said "I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT WORD!!!" I spelled again and he was very impatient and sighed again. I dont know whether this is discrimination and certainly feel much offended!

Dont be fooled into thinking that this is a reputable repair shop. Prices are seemingly reasonable for major repairs, but you will wind up spending more fixing the mechanics mistakes than the original repair cost in the first place. Owner and mechanic become argumentative and unwilling to admit to faulty repairs and then charge full price to fix their mistakes. This place is run off of shady business tactics, so please think twice before bringing your vehicle here.

I went to ABA auto shop to change a broken handle on the inside driver door of my car. I bought the complete handle which contained lock, handle, and frame, however, they only installed two parts, the handle and lock and kept the frame. When I asked why they didnt install all three parts the person who installed it shrugged his shoulders at me and would not reinstall the missing part. They have very poor customer service and I would not recommend them.

I brought my two cars here when I needed a small or major issue for the past 10 years. Alex and Jon did a good job. One thing I like about ABA is if they can do it, they tell it and how much it would cost precisely. If it is not something they cannot do, they dont imitate as if they can do it. They advise other good local services. I also had lots of friends bring their cars here and they were mostly happy about the services of ABA.

My friend in IU law school brought me here two years ago who had lived in Bloomington for more than five years, and they never let me down. Alex and Jon know cars very well and they never recommend unnecessary maintenance to me. They don’t provide air-conditioned rest area and soft sofa, but their professional skill and reasonable price are definitely more attractive. Highly recommend!

Over the last ten years Ive brought my cars here for minor repairs several times (water pump replacement, new radiator, belt replacement), and Ive always had good experiences. The mechanics charge what seems to be around $30/hr for labor and they have good sources for cheap used parts. If Im looking to have something straightforward fixed for cheap, this is where I go.

I tried to purchase the 2000 white Subaru forester today. I came 2 weeks ago to test drive it came back today to make a purchase and at first he told me nothing was wrong with it. It was smoking under the hood after I test drove it. So I asked him what was the problem he told me nothing then told me it might be a blown gasket

ABA is definitely the place to go if you have something wrong with your car. I have worked with them with my first car and second car. They know what they are doing. As a person not knowing too much about cars, Alex and John are always helpful and reliable. Most importantly, the price is really reasonable. Highly recommend!!

Jon (the owner) and his mechanic (Alex) are always helpful, trustworthy, and timely with repairs. Ive used them for more than 15 years now. There is no one else I trust as much in town. Jon is an engineer and Alex is highly trained mechanic for decades, these guys are the best and their price is better then anyone!!

Alex and Jon know their job, are respectful to customers and quote very reasonable prices. They were recommended to me by a friend and so far, Ive had no cause for regret. Changed the timing belt of a previous car and also did some front end work on the current one. Timely quality service all the way.

The guy did me a favor and fixed the rubber lining along my driver window that wouldve cost 100s of dollars from a dealership. However, he was very unfriendly the whole time...charged me 25 bucks for 5 mins of work and told me (in exact words): "give me 25$ and leave".

I took my car to replace timing belt and water pump. However, they ruined my transmission. They told me If want I can go to court. I will go to court since I am sure they ruined my transmission. Absolutely I do not advise the place.

I use ABA for auto repair almost exclusively. I like the very practical approach that they use: they want you to spend the minimum to get your car run again. For students, ABA is the best option in my opinion.
