When I moved to Evansville, a co-worker recommended I try Solaris. I did, and HATED my first cut. I felt like I came out with more split ends than I went in with, because Brittany insisted on doing some "new technique" she just learned. I felt like the bad cut was my fault for not being specific enough and/or not saying "No". 5 months later, I went in for my second cut. HORRIBLE. I asked for layers and she essentially cut my hair in SHELVES. It is the worst haircut Ive received to date. Fast forward a few more months, I was in a wedding and the bride requested we all get the same color of gel nails. I was hard pressed to find a local salon that did them. Reluctantly, I made an appointment with Masha at Solaris. It was the single WORST manicure Ive ever gotten. First, it was a DARK area - so I was unable to see my nails well. Once I got out into the daylight, I realized she let me walk out of there with POOLS of nail polish collecting near my cuticles. It was uneven and peeled off immediately. Gel nails are more expensive and theyre supposed to last 2 weeks. Youre supposed to have to come back in to have them removed and instead, I could chip it off myself. I went to another salon to have my nails fixed before my friends big day. Total, Ive had 4 awful experiences with Solaris and would never recommend it to anyone. Their stylists are poor at best and their nail techs are awful. Save your money.

I have been relaxing at Aveda-Solaris Spa for several years! I have had facials, waxes, haircuts, color and highlights, conditioning treatments, a pedicure and my favorite of all...wonderful massages! I have always been pleased and love the pampering that comes with the service...from the footstools and neck pillow at the shampoo bowl to the super relaxing massage rooms and wonderful music, water features and aromatherapy. I also let my two grandsons, age 5 and 6 choose an activity to do with me, one-on-one, last year as part of their Christmas gifts and they both chose going out to dinner and a massage!! And they both LOVED it! I was not sure about the younger one b/c he has a hard time staying still, but after about 5 minutes, he was sound asleep. As soon as their massages were over, they both asked me when they could do it again?? And they have already told me they want one for Christmas again :) It was special Nana/Grandson time and it was cool to see them so relaxed and calm! Thank you for the lovely atmosphere and talented, friendly professionals!

I moved to Evansville and was needing a new stylist. I had went to Aveda in my last town and loved it. So, I thought it would be the same here. I tried 3 stylists within the salon trying to find "the one." The pros: when you get a cut you get a scalp massage. If you get color, you get a foot soak. Thats a nice touch. The staff are friendly and offer refreshments. The cons: The first stylist somehow turned by roots orange. Im not sure how since we were doing brown on brown. The next ruined my shirt by getting dye all down the back. She didnt tell me. I had no idea until I got home and my husband saw it. The third stylist pushed products the whole time and botched my layers. There was a whole strip of hair down the back that was at least an inch longer than the rest. Also, you must pay tips in cash. Thats a bit inconvenient. Needless to say, I wont be going back. I was really hoping to find a stylist in the salon since I love Aveda products, philosophy and service. So, Im pretty disappointed.

This is a great salon. Their customer service is wonderful. The front desk staff were friendly and very welcoming. I really liked that they gave me a tour of the facility. My hair stylist was Nicole M. and I cannot express enough how much I appreciated the fact that she took her time with me and my natural curly hair. She asked several questions and did not rush through my hair cut. It was obvious that she really did want me to leave there truly satisfied with my hair and experience there. She talked about the Aveda products but did not pressure me into purchases. I loved getting the complimentary mini neck massage at the end of my hair cut as well. It took me a bit to get use to my hair cut as I got quite a bit taken off, but I love my hair cut now and have gotten several compliments on it. I have already set another appointment with her and look forward to having Solaris as my new home for hair needs. I also plan to return to try out a massage session.

Ive been going to Solaris for about five years now and I cant say enough good things... I have been going to Abby for a few years, but everyone I have encountered there has been great--of course, Abby is the best! She is really great at listening and giving you what you ask for. I only had one bad experience... I had my hair colored and it was way too dark. Abby got me in and fixed it perfectly... doing highlights and lowlights-- essentially a more expensive process that I went in for. It looked great, better than I could have hoped for! They are great at pampering you... giving scalp and hand massages. I also have my brows shaped there and I would not go any place else. They never make the brows too skinny. They have great makeup service also, if you have a big day. I got my hair and makeup done there for my wedding and they did a great job of making me look natural but polished. Their products are also great too, although a little pricey.

I will never go anywhere else. Nicole is wonderful and always cuts my hair perfectly. She knows exactly how I like it. I have never had a bad experience here. From calling to schedule an appointment to the very end as I am paying everyone is always so professional and friendly. I usually just get my hair cut but I have also had a few other service done as well, such as a massage and highlights. I was skeptical about the highlights at first because I didnt want them to look too unnatural plus I dont want to damage my hair too much because I plan on donating it again. Not only are the products all natural the highlights turned out exactly how I wanted each time. They also offer monthly deals that are awesome so i try to take advantage whenever I can. My favorite part is the complimentary neck massage at the end of each service. Thank you!

Every time I always ask "Can any of your stylists do naturally curly hair?" And Aveda ASSURED me that this person knew what she was doing. Wow - that was certainly not the case. First, she brushed my hair out with a wire brush (first no-no of naturally curly hair) then washed it. She then started cutting it wet after I specifically told her that my hair shrinks more than most people when cut wet (as most curly haired peoples do). Finally, she dryed it on high heat, scrunching it in her hands. I came in with pretty good hair and wanting a cool, new cut that wasnt just the basic layered look. I came out with my hair 5 inches shorter than I wanted and looking like I stuck my hand in a light socket. I couldnt hold the tears back even when I was walking out - I bawled the whole way home. I looked terrible. Please, please dont go here.
