My husband and I wrote this review: Wanted to share our experience with Mr Quik Home Services. We purchased our house new and recently (this was at the end of June 2017 when this happened - just when the summer heat was beginning to kick in) came home (late afternoon) to an overheated house. The heat pump (outdoor unit) was not cooling. Contacted Mr. Quik and a technician, Ben, was dispatched within 2 hours (to my surprise...was expecting them to post-pone until the following day). The technician was able to diagnose the problem within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the compressor had failed and to make matters worse, the unit used the (currently discontinued) R-22 coolant. His initial recommendation was to completely replace the entire system (inside and out) to the tune of several thousand dollars; an amount that simply could not be afforded. After some negotiation, we settled on just replacing the bad compressor and scavenging R-22 coolant (at a rather high cost but still a fraction of full system replacement); this was not ideal given that the system was over 10 years old and other components were bound to fail but, most importantly, it was an affordable band-aid. It should be noted that I was expecting (and felt like) most companies would simply quit and not even offer any other less expensive alternatives. The technician was uncomfortable with this solution (for the above mentioned reasons) and went above and beyond (in my opinion) and took the initiative to speak with the owner of the company to try to come up with an alternative. They were able to find a way to replace the outdoor unit, the heating/cooling coil, AND use the up-to-date (and legal) coolant all for the same price as replacing the compressor and R-22 coolant. The replacement unit had the exact same specifications as the existing unit and came with a 10 year parts (1 year labor) warranty. So the worry of replacing other parts as they failed with the existing unit simply vanished. Needless to say, I was very happy with the alternative solution and they were able to complete the work within just 1 day! The installation personnel (Jeremy and James) were very efficient and worked well together. They also took the time to speak with me and answer all of my questions. They did a lot of work in a very short time and they did it the right way. It took about a day to cool the house back down but, it has been a little over a month since the install and we have not only been very comfortable but we also noticed that our electric bill went down dramatically (a little over a hundred dollars). This was a very nice surprise. OK, that was our experience. I hope this was informative and I would recommend them highly to anyone in a similar situation. To be clear, I did not take the time to comparison shop. However, given the circumstances and the hindsight knowledge that their price was indeed competitive (not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive - both in terms of parts and labor), I would not hesitate to call on them again. Im sure there are those that have had a different experience but, in a very stressful situation where they could have taken advantage, they did not and went way out of their way to find a solution that work for me. This is the main reason why I have taken the time to write such a lengthy review in order to re-pay their kindness in some small measure.

While Mr Quik did a great job at finding my plumbing problem and then fixing it, I wasnt very happy with the way the yard was left. We had a clogged sewer line and no clean out for them to access the line so, they dug a place for a clean out. They opened the pipe there and then sent a camera thru to find where the clog was. It was 45-50 feet from the house. So a new service main would need to be laid. They came back the next day and eventually got thru the clog. Now a decision had to be made as to whether we should install the clean out and do a spot repair or dig up the whole line. They sent the guy with the camera back out and he followed the line all the way to the clog. At each joint in the existing clay pipe roots were showing into the pipe. I now had a decision to make, spot repair or the whole new line. I decided to go the whole new line because for $5600 I could have the new line and the clean out installed. If we did the clean out and the spot repair it would have been $2309 (clean out installation) and $3500 for the spot repair. The guys, John & Johnny both left the desicion up to me but, pointed out that all these roots could be another potential costly problem down the road. They were very good at the digging and replacing the pipe. They did the whole new pipe installation. I was happy with everything they did except the condition the yard was left in. A 2-3 foot mound of dirt 50 feet long across the yard was not acceptable but I was told that was how they did it and it would settle in 2-3 months. Which after a neighbor had the same thing done, I know after 6 months it only settled less than a foot. They left the digging equipment for the rental company to pick up so, I got on it and graded it down to about a foot mound or less along the dig line. Might have been even better had not the man showed up to get his equipment back so soon. Now I am left with renting heavy equipment and making my yard level and reseeding the grass. Mr. Quik should rethink their policy on leaving a job uncompleted like that. In all fairness, I should have inquired before hand how they would have handled the clean up after the new pipe installation was done. Had I known it would be left like that, I would have called around to find a company that did a better job of leaving the yard in better condition. Would I call Mr. Quik again? Yes, I probably would but, I would ask more questions about how they did the job and what the finished condition would be like.

I knew that somehow my air conditioning was leaking into my crawl space. While pulling weeds around the entrance to get into it, I could feel the cold breeze. My landlady has a service contract with Mister Quick and they immediately called me to arrange a time. They sent an email with his photo so I could make sure it was him and also phoned 30 minutes before he was to arrive so I would know to expect him. Once he had located the leaks in the duct work, he explained that we could save all but the service call by taping it ourselves. He drew me a map of my crawlspace and showed me exactly where it needed to be taped. While he was more than happy to do it, he gave us the option of saving $189.00. Wondering if this was just something he was doing to be nice, I asked if it would get him in trouble with his company. Nope. This is something they do regularly if the repair is something the average person can do. He went on to share how much he loves his job, the company he works for and his employer. Its really nice (and pretty rare) to hear someone who believes in the service s/he provides and proud to be employed where s/he is. Good service is so rare in my experience. Even more than a fair price, I want honesty, an explanation of what Im getting for my money, to be treated like an individual who matters and I expect those I do business with to be professional, on time and accurate. My first experience with Mister Quick was so positive I asked for extra cards to refer my friends - and theres even a great reward for that. Heads up ATT, PayPal, Comcast and all the others I have had recent issues with. These people know how to provide a service and not leave a customer feeling cheated or under served. And they also know how to hire positive professionals who have a personal ethical concern about the service they provide. Maybe you need to take a lesson.
