Very rude! I went in to ask a question about dyeing my hair since I could not find any information online about their prices. The stylist would not look me in the eye and continued sweeping the floor (they were not busy. No one was there except me and the stylist) while I was talking to her. She said that the pictures I had were too small (she was several feet away from me and sweeping the floor). The entire time I asked questions regarding the process of dyeing my hair while being nothing but nice, she was very condescending. I asked for a price of dyeing my medium brown hair to a subtle blonde bayalage style. She said it could take 2-3 hours and would cost $200 or "maybe more". She then told me to check other places. I thanked her and left. I got the vibe she did not want me there at all and I quickly left feeling upset. I understand that maybe she was having a bad day, but I still treat people with respect when theyve given me no reason not to. This was my #1 choice based on online reviews but now I dont recommend this place to anyone.

3 things to discuss: The Salon: First thing that people might mention about it is that it is a small place. However, small goes along with well kept, organized, and nicely decorated. It gives you a comfortable and welcoming feeling as soon as you step in. The atmosphere makes the whole experience more personal and relaxing. The Service: You can either come in and know exactly what you want, have and idea and could use some help refining it, or be looking for advice as to what is best for your hair. In any case, Jia will know exactly what to do or recommend. Her common sense for these matters, paired with a natural care for details, guarantee that you will be pleased with the outcome. The Host: Jia is not only skilled in matters of the type of business she runs, take the time to converse with her to find out some interesting facts about her life. She is amazing person to talk to, and with whom to share opinions and experiences. Her quality as a person is what tops the excellent service she provides. Thank you Jia. Muchas Gracias :-).

Liked it. Just recently moved here to study. I walked around the Wabash area looking for a hair salon. All local salons at the time were busy with 45 minute waits... So I decided to go home. On my way home, I saw this salon and decided to walk in and see how long the wait was. She was able to take me within a 5 minute wait. Very cool. Not too mention, she cut my hair well. I told her how I wanted it and she understood it. Throughout the cut, she paid very close attention to detail, which surprised me because to me, its just hair. And I didnt really care. Price was reasonable, $16. Pretty good overall.

I am a college student, and I had been getting my hair cut by the same person in my hometown for 10 years prior to visiting River Hair Care. I was a little nervous to let someone else cut it, but I was SO HAPPY with Jias work! She listened to exactly what I wanted, and paid great attention to detail. I wanted my side swept bangs cut (which other stylists had ruined in the past) and she was able to do them perfectly. The price was definitely reasonable, and she was very friendly to talk to. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for an awesome and affordable haircut!

Personal circumstances had me move to Lafayette, IN from a different country... my previous hair stylist had been fixing/cutting/highlighting my hair for the past 12 years... so making the hairstylist change was a HUGE step for me, I couldnt be more thankful, despite I didnt know the three different colors I had on my hair, River Hair care paid enough attention and did a fantastic job with it. Her good eye and experience really showed, she did a great job even/blending out the new shade with the shades I already had even when they were kind of washed/faded. Thank you!

I started going to River hair care about 4 months ago for highlights and cut, after another salon messed it up pretty bad. I see the owner Ja, and she knew just what I wanted and really listened. She gets my blond how I want it, and really is a perfectionist..The price is great, and a very friendly atmoshphere. I will not go anywhere else for my hair.. She really does an amazing job!!

I get my hair cut, highlighted, and low-lighted by the owner, it is the most affordable price I have found in the area. She fixed the mess of a mane my last stylist had completely ruined, and I love my hair now! My husband has also been a customer at River Hair Care for over five years now. Just be sure to book ahead for color so she can make time for you!

I have been looking for 2 years trying to find a barber who knows how to deal with my ridiculously thick hair and make it look great. Shes awesome, friendly, and incredibly skilled. Simply brought in a photo of what I wanted and she did a wonderful job! I have gotten dozens of compliments around campus after getting my hair cut by her.

Been going here with my family for 10 + years. Amazing work for all my family. Every time we go somewhere else we end up coming back to have her fix it. She is great with our kids and is as adults. She gives good advice when my daughters want change hair styles. Takes time with each person and answers questions.

I have fine straight hair that easily shows flaws but when I get it cut at RHC I leave her business with an actual smile.
