I contacted the Westfield post office via phone on 1/9/17 and spoke with Kim as we were wanting to bring our 10 month old son in to obtain a passport. I asked for the hours of operations, whether or not we needed an appointment as well as what we needed to bring. Kim was very nice and provided us with the necessary information or so we thought. We arrived at the Post Office on 1/10/17 with our 10 month old son at 10:20 only to be told that passports were not processed until 10:30. I explained that I had called yesterday as was told that the hours were 10:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. The gentlemen asked us to step to the other counter and that someone would be with us. After almost 10 minutes, Nan appeared. We told her that we wanted to get a passport for our son. I provided her with a certified copy of our sons birth certificate, both my husbands and my drivers licenses, both our passports, and a completed application for a new passport for our son. She indicated that we needed to have a copy of our licenses and that it would be $1 per copy. We indicated that was not a problem. She then indicated that we would need two certified copies of our sons birth certificate. I stated that I had been told that only one was needed and that the USPS web site indicated that only one was needed as well. She said she could make a copy at an additional charge, which actually is illegal. We said that was fine. She then indicated that she would only take a check, when we had been told that we could use a debit card to purchase a money order. During this entire time, Nan was rude and not very helpful. When she said, multiple times, that we would need to leave and come back later, I asked if she could take our sons picture now so that we would not have to cart him back in forth in the rainy and cold weather. She said no. At this point we indicated that the information she was providing was different than what we were told and what was on the website. She was extremely rude and indicated that she did not work for the passport authorities and could not speak for them. At this point, another employee Kim stepped in and asked if she could be of assistance. I explained to Kim what we had had problems with Nan in the past not being very helpful. Kim immediately told us to have a "good day" I repeatedly tried to explain to Kim the issue only to be rudely interrupted numerous times. I reminded her that I had called and talked to her yesterday and she stated that she doesnt do passports so is not responsible for providing us the incorrect information. My husband indicated that we were the customers here and that she was the one being rude and not being very helpful. She again told us to "have a good day" and that she worked for the USPS a federal government agency. At which point I told her that as tax payers we were supporting her salary and expected better service. I further stated that this was not the first time we had received bad service from this office and that it was unbelievable that we would be treated this way. Neither Kim nor Nan listened to what we were trying to explain nor offered to double check the passport procedures to ensure what we were being told was accurate. They consistently interrupted us while we were speaking only to make us more frustrated and angry. We left the office and immediately contacted the Carmel, Indiana post office. The person we spoke with was extremely nice and verified for me that we only needed 1 certified copy of our sons birth certificate and that we could use a debit card to purchase a money order to pay for the expedited passport. Not only were we given incorrect information by Nan and Kim and the Westfield post office, we were treated extremely poorly. This is not a new experience for us at this office. Something needs to be done at this office to correct the attitude and ensure that the employees put the customer first! All you have to do is to look at the reviews of this office over the past two years to see there is a significant problem here.

Be careful when you make a Passport appointment. I made one over the phone and had the lady confirm the date/time/location. I skip out at work to show up at the time, wait in line, and find out I am not on the hand-written schedule. Told to come back tomorrow since someone else is penciled in (never-mind its 10 minutes past the hour of their appointment and they arent there yet). I showed them all the documentation was already filled in and printed online, but they told me they couldnt help me anyway. Regardless of who made the mistake, they should have tried to work me in.

As a part time retailer, I have worked with the Westfield USPS for several years now. While they did not always have their act together, they have made tremendous strides and improvements in the last few years (e.g., added more staff to ease the wait times) and they have always treated me with courtesy and respect. I feel like many of the reviews on here have one or two bad experiences and then they immediately write a review in frustration - but that hardly seems an appropriate time to consider the adequacy of services. Overall, good service - a "B."

Experience with manager was very disappointing. I had a package, an envelope small enough to fit in my mailbox, that was never delivered. I went to see if they had it at the Post Office, and the manager said that since it was marked delivered there was nothing she could do. The managers attitude was cold, uncaring, and smug, as if to say the Post Office never makes mistakes. It doesnt matter if the mail carrier made a mistake or not, as the manager of the Post Office at least try to empathize with the person who is asking for your assistance!

Like all businesses, they can have their rough times and I have experienced it a time or two. However, I have always found the people to be very friendly and helpful-trying their hardest to get the best deal for your postage. During the daytime/school hours it is usually not very busy. However with only 2 regular cashier areas and 1 alternative, Westfield is quickly outgrowing this small post office. They need to expand as the city expands to keep up with the demands of their town.

10 days after ordering my package and having it go to the wrong state, it is finally down the street from me. I need it before tomorrow (its new delivery date) so I called and asked if I could please pick it up. The response was quick and curt, "No, its not sorted yet. Youll get it tomorrow" Thanks for being rude and unhelpful, but I wont be here tomorrow. If you have time sensitive material, seek out another shipping option.

Unfriendly. Unhelpful. Unkind. Anti-customer service. Negative rich environment that employs people that exude disdain for their job and fellow humans. Tom attempted to charge $2 for one copy of a drivers license because he didnt want to leave his desk and walk to the copier. NOTHING on the main USPS site stated a copy must be brought in. If you enjoy belittling attitudes and lost mail, it is worth the trip.
