Went to Ankeny Auto body for a scratch that was down the side of our van. We had previously gone to Karl Chevrolet to get a quote and they quoted us at $1406. Ankeny Auto body quoted us at $1900 so I left and as soon as I got home I got a call from Ankeny Auto body stating that they would match Karls quote if we brought in the quote that Karls gave us. They told us they could get us in that day and we would have our vehicle back before the holiday weekend. I dropped my van off on June 29th and on Monday July 6th I received a call from Ankeny auto body stating the van wouldnt be done until Wednesday the 8th and then on Wednesday I received a call that it wouldnt be done until the 9th and then on the 9th I hadnt heard anything so I called the shop at 4pm. They told me that they were just finishing the vehicle and would call as soon as it was complete. They called me at 5:50 and told me they close in 10 minutes but I could pick the van up before they close or in the morning. When I got the final cost analysis it was $885 OVER the estimate. I feel like I was completely scammed and everything I was told was a lie. I would not recommend this body shop to anyone!

The staff here are not exactly the friendliest. My car was brought to them by a car shop that did damage to my vehicle and everytime I spoke with them the tone that was taken with me was very condisending. My vehicle ended up being totaled so upon going to get my things out of the vehicle I asked about getting help opening the back door that had been smashed the man getting the plates off for me said no we never got it open and said nothing more and went back into the shop. If you are looking for somewhere that has great customer service with friendly staff this is not the place.

Did good work. Were helpful and informative. Especially secretary (named Sherry?) who was very conscientious and follows up/explains well. They worked hard to find a good replacement part, after they received lousy replacement bumper, etc.
