I took my escalade to Atherton for a second opinion. I was given a sheet with many options of ways they could fix my problem. There was no pressure to pick one option over another. They also did a complete check up and found other things that will eventually need attention. There was no pressure to fix any of the extra things they found, and they gave me a time line of when they thought I should look into fixing them. The day of my appointment, I took my car in and they helped me and my son get back home while they worked on my car. When it was finished they actually said they didnt need to do as much as the original estimate, so my bill was considerably less than I was expecting. You always hear about car repair shops taking advantage of people and doing extra work, but Atherton is the complete opposite. They will do what you need, and what you want.

My car kept needing a jump and I thought it needed a new battery and my tire needed repair fot a slow leak. The staff here told me I did not need a battery just to sell me a battery. They went beyond that to run a number of tests to find out what was draining my battery and keeping informed at all times. The tire lug nuts needed a special tool to be removed which I did not have. The staff called around and found a tool for me to have. They went beyond what they needed to do, keeping me informed on the work, letting me make the decisions, and keeping the cost down due to my limited funds. The total cost for the parts, diagnostic tests, and labor were unbelieveable low for the time they spent on my car. If you are looking for honest, friendly, and knowledgeable staff for your automobile needs you will find it at Atherton Automotive.

We called in with a request for a check, and an appointment was made for the same day service. Athertons did a very thorough check, and did the service same day; parts that had to be ordered arrived quickly and appointment was made to complete the service. Staff was very friendly - both in the service department and in the store. My husband did not have a way home while the work was being completed, so Matt (Sr), the owner, gave him a ride so that he could go about his day until they called to let us know it was complete. Matt (Jr) explained the work to be completed, and the billing, so that there were no questions or surprises. All of the employees were polite, friendly, and professional. They have always treated us right, and we will continue to take our business to them. Thank you!

Ive never dealt with a better automotive repair center in my ENTIRE life. I was driving from San Diego to Connecticut, and I happened to break down there in Council Bluff, IA on the highway. I felt quite isolated and far from home. Right off the bat I could tell this company was a tight, clean, friendly operation. And then I learned they were a family run business - two sons, both ambitious and hard working. They got to my car quickly and had me back on the road that night. And the friendliness is was made this experience so pleasant. I met the whole family and each guy was just incredibly nice and thorough. When I made it back to Connecticut I called them back and they were giving me troubleshooting advice over the phone for unrelated problems. Just utterly top notch guys. A+++++

Atherton Automotive was referred to me by a friend to look at an aftermarket exhaust system on my 2015 Tahoe. I had taken the vehicle to the shop that installed the system when it began to make a rattling noise and they were unable to fix it. Nick the service tech looked under the car and discovered a bad mounting bracket and a crack in the exhaust pipe. He called Magnaflow and explained the problem and Magnaflow insisted on replacing the entire system. When I asked the dealer to look at it they refused as they were not the manufacturer. Nick also went through the entire vehicle and pointed out some warranty work to have done before it expired. Looks like Athertons is my new automotive repair shop!

I have been taking my car to Athertons for the last 3 to 4 years now, I wouldnt take my car any where else. Matt Jr. or Nick will always call you if anything arises while your vehicle is in there shop and let you know how things are going and let you know if anything else needs to attention and ask you if you would like them to care of it now or later. They are not just mechanics, they will carry on a conversation with you while you are there. My extended family have also taken there vehicles to them. I could ramble on about how great they are forever, but I will leave it at that. Thank you Matt Jr., Nick, Kenny and Keith for the great work and keep it up!!

If youre looking for mechanics that know what theyre doing and do it for a reasonable price and a smile .. this is the PLACE !! I was given a great quote to do some much needed maintenance and when one more thing popped up, they called and asked permission and told me how much more it would be.. there were no surprises and the work was done in a timely manner. Oh.. plus the lady the in the convenience shop is also very nice and offered me free coffee while I was waiting. The bathroom was very clean the whole experience was excellent and I will be recommending these guys to my friends and family. Well done guys and thank you for keeping me on the road !

I think that Atherton is the best place to take your car to for any problems. They are courteous and answer any questions that you have. They always greet you with a smile. I have always been satisfied with their work and I feel confident and know they will do their best. I also like that they are honest people and that means a lot. Also after they have worked on your car they will follow up to see how the car is running and if there are any problems. I would not take my car anywhere else. I think they are exceptional.

Brought in my vehicle for an oil change and to have my air conditioner looked at. Atherton quoted me $5600 in repairs. I had a weird feeling about it and brought the vehicle to another mechanic, along with the expensive list of repairs. Atherton quoted my AC repair at $4,000. It was fixed for $300 by another mechanic. None of the other issues on Athertons list needed to be fixed. Steer clear of dishonest businesses that capitalize on dishonesty and the assumption that customers are ignorant.

Best Automotive Service Center I have ever used-no kidding! A few years ago, I was a loyal customer here at Atherton Automotive but had to move for a job change. In my 4 years living in Wisconsin, my husband and I werent able to find a comparable place like Athertons. Thankfully, I just recently moved back to CB-IA and I am so excited to be able to work with Matt Jr. and his crew again. They do awesome work, are very accommodating to their customers and are honest people.
