I took my 2005 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT to VAP because the grease boot on the passenger side cv drive axel was torn. I understood when I took it in that replacing the entire drive axel is the usual fix for this problem and since one was being replaced, the driver side axel would probably need to be replaced soon so I said OK. I should have known when they charged me $145.00 for an axel available at any auto parts store for about $70.00 that I was in for a rough ride. I also should have known when they reported the rear windows as being inoperable when the only problem was that the button disabling the rear windows for child protection was on that they didnt know a thing about Subarus. I can understand a reasonable markup on purchased parts, but over 100% markup seemed to be unreasonable to me. When I got the car back, as soon as I took off from the shop, it had a terrible noise whenever I let out the clutch. I drove it home and called them to let them know that something was wrong. They came and picked the car up and over the next few days I heard various stories about what the problem was. Finally they said that I needed new ball joints and the front and rear differential needed to be services. More money out the door. When they returned the car saying that they couldnt hear the noise any more I was relieved. That is, until my wife and I went to church that night and there was the noise again. I took the car to the Subaru dealer and asked them to go over each item on the bill to see if the work was really done. The major problem the tech at Subaru found was that the boot on one of the new ball joints was torn on installation. Also, the nuts on the ball joints were not new and were different from side to side. In addition, there was no cotter pin through the top of the ball joint which would have, in time, caused both a drivability and a safety issue. Also, they found that the driver side brake caliper bracket was warped and would not fit back on the car. Someone had ground out the bolt holes in order to make it fit. Final word, the tech at Subaru repaired my car and it works perfectly. The people at VAP screwed up my car, charged me a lot of money, and lied to me on several occasions. I would never take my car to them for repair again and I will tell everyone I meet of the shoddy way I was treated.

I had put two of my vehicles in there on the first of July to get a diagnostic to see what needed repaired. I waited one full week to call. I kept getting chip on the phone and kept saying the shop is full we will get to it by the end of the week. That happened for three weeks. After getting one of vehicles in finally I got quoted 3000 bucks to get a now/rebuilt transmission bought and installed. So I towed that car home. Waiting on my other car to get put in shop. I get a call Tuesday July 23 after a bad storm saying a roof has landed on my car. So after work I go up there to assess the damage of my car. After seeing the roof on my car only seeing my front quarter panel off my 2000 eclipse visible. I go in and talk to chip. Chip told me that he had spoke with the buildings owner (Where the roof flew off from) and said he contacted his insurance. Chip told me he would keep me updated and it would take a few days to get the debris removed. So I call Friday to get some updates He said debris was still not removed and that he has not heard from the guys insurance company. So Tuesday comes I call chip he says theres a crew out there trying to get the debris off the vehicles. Promised I would receive a call later that afternoon. I waited tell 5 and decided to call myself he said that they couldnt get the debris off of my car but off of the surrounding areas and assured me that this would take wait off of my car. (AT THIS POINT ITS BEEN A WEEK WITH ALL OF IT ON THERE SO WHATS IT GOING TO DO AT THIS POINT) So I ask about the owner of the building and he says he doesnt know anything and its the building behind them and I quote there a place just like us. So after work at 6 I drive by Vap auto shop. Sure enof my car is still covered with debris while all other vehicles that has debris on them was cleared off. So I drive to the place behind them get the address and who owns the property number. To say the least Vap has been a hell of a place to deal with I do not recommend this place I still am trying to get everything worked out.

With great sadness Im having to write this. Ive taken several vehicles to VAP over the course of 5 years. Now, I can understand that sometime liability can get in the way of great service. But accountability should be the case. Over the past 3 weeks several cars were burglarized at their shop, which I understand happens. But the interior damages I would believe could be handled, I called upset due to all of my stereo system being stolen and upholstery torn to shreds at the rear of my car. Its great to know that they have interior cameras, but exterior cameras would alleviate the "he said, she said" of damages done, or property stolen. I realize because of a "club" the area is an AT RISK location, but with high prices for repairs you would think the small take out of insurance for just the damages (due to me not having receipts for stereo equipment) would be sufficient enough to keep the customer happy. I realize unforseen issues like "why my odometer stopped working" because of hitch issues, but lack of exterior security and lack of accountability are upsetting in the least. You take you car to be fixed, not to have it broken into, torn up, and things not working anymore. Its just one after the other frustration. At the end of the day, my car works remarkably after their repair. I have to give this a 1 star due to my damages and stolen property SUPERSEDING the cost of my repair $876 now Im down almost $1800 including having to find an upholster and rivets to put my trunk back together. I can only hope that it doesnt snow now, as my car had already been broken into before. Update: Car has been 100% repaired I am now using RC Auto Repair as they are a better rated shop, and much more reputable.

I have nothing negative to say about the service itself. I got called to go pick up my car which had its shock mount ears broken. It was before closing hours and the doors were locked. And as I stood there the worker comes out of his car and tells me he locked himself out of the shop and that hes the only employee on duty; to please take him to some motel so that he can get the keys from someone else. Strike one- extremely unprofessional employee and terrible portrayel of the COMPANY. But I NEEDED my car, so I drove the employee around town to look for the guy with the keys. Finally, he didnt find the guy and I took him back. I left without my car. I went the next day and I believe I delt with the owner, Travis. I was charged $.45 on material and $302 on labor for slapping a little weld on the broken piece(which as a code welder I could have done but dont have a machine). I asked for a discount because of the UNprofessionalism on behalf of the company and because of the inconvenience caused. He absolutely refused and demonstrated a complete lack of accountability for his employees actions on business grounds and on company time. To make a longer story short, he told me to ask any amount of money from the employee and if he didnt give it to me, he was going to fire the employee. At that point I didnt argue my case any longer. I could see that this man didnt care about me. He wanted his money and for me to take it out on the employee. What you do with your employee is your problem, not mine. Take responsibility for your employees actions.
