I got my first BMW back in 2005. I was thrilled as it was a dream come true. I wanted to take good care of the car and was looking for a reputable shop. I knew I needed to get the car checked out and it needed the Inspection II service. I called EAS as well as Benzin, EAS gave me a price of $500.00 and their shop looked nicer than Benzin. When I got to EAS I spoke with Kurt and told him that my door cards were loose, he told me he could fix them with 3M Glue for $75.00. (Now that I know how to remove them myself the job is 10 minutes per each card drivers and passengers) Im not sure what shop labor rate was in 2005 but $75.00 seemed fair to me. I dropped the car off for the door cards and the Inspection II. Kurt called me and said that a bearing was bad on one of the belt pulleys. Said he could fix it for $180.00 I told him to go for it. (It really didnt have to be done at that time but I was naive and wanted my car to be perfect.) When I went to pick the car up he handed me a bill for a little under $1,100.00 I was expecting to pay $755.00. I was in shock, I didnt really know how to respond. I asked him why the increase and he said that the door cards were $75.00 each, and that the Inspection II was actually $575.00, and that the belt pulley bearing ended up taking more time and it was $270.00. I was in my early twenties at the time and did not have the courage to man up and demand that he meet the prices he quoted me. I was clearly unhappy and I made up my mind that I would never do business with someone like Kurt again. I see that there are a lot of good ratings on here for EAS but I know from talking to other local car enthusiasts a lot of people have had bad experiences with them. Really this experience helped me to learn more about my car and I have saved a lot of money by doing some things myself. Today I take my e39 540i to Renn Sport. Rick at Renn Sport has always been an honest straight shooter and I trust him. The one thing I did like about EAS is that my car was really clean when they were finished.

I have been trying to fix my own BMW due to being a shade tree mechanic, however, I have run into the wall and cannot complete it and needed help. I talked to European Autospecialist about my issue thinking they would get me back on the road after my car has been in my garage for a year. They told me to send it in and they would take a look at it. I arrange for a tow service to take my car and when it was in transit I called them and said it was on the way. Keep in mind I have been working on this car trying to replace my starter and alternator for over a year. I bought a new starter and alternator a year ago and told them it was in the trunk and then they play the policy card on me and tell me under no circumstances do they use customer supplied parts. I understand the policy and I was not trying to undermine their opportunity to make money off the parts they put in my car which is why they do that. They will tell you because of their superior quality they do it because they have a preference for parts and they want to make sure a good quality part goes in . They were not interested in my unique situation and I am not going to pay for another alternator and starter. They had an opportunity to make an exception and take care of me, instead, I had an $80 tow bill for my car to be driven around town for no reason. If these guys are so hard core they cannot take care of me I would be wary of them. When unyielding policy is involved you end up getting it in the backside. I will never go to these guys again and I will do everything I can to tell anybody not to go there.

Ive given them their last chance to take care of my vehicles. Without fail, theres a big surprise (not the good kind) waiting when we issue payment. Without fail, theres some mixup with parts that ends up making a reasonably short job span into a week or more. Without fail, theyll play off having forgotten to note everything you wanted looked at until youre almost ready to pick up the car, resulting in more days of waiting. When questioned, without fail, the mistake in understanding was ours rather than theirs - or their supplier - or the fact that independents have to wait longer for parts than dealers. When you essentially call ones spouse a liar for the 25% gap between your verbal estimate and the final bill, you have lost a customer for life. Do yourself a favor, go to the dealer instead. At least you get a loaner car to use, youll get your vehicle washed, and youre certainly not going to spend more there than you will here. I have no idea what value they think theyre adding - theyre no faster, the service is no better, and theyre no less expensive than the dealership themselves. The knife in the gut though is to have someone there whom you had respected and known who continues to unashamedly take advantage of you. Steer well clear.

I have been taking my 2001 BMW 540 M Sport to European Autospecialist for five years now, and have found their advice and service invaluable. They are quite knowledgeable about BMWs and always provide accurate information and estimates, completing the necessary repairs on time and on spec. They are an economical alternative to dealer service, and I wouldnt take my car anyplace else. If youre considering a purchase of a BMW, Mercedes or Mini-Cooper, you owe it to yourself to go visit EAS and talk to Kurt Krans about the car you wish to buy. Its extremely important with these high tech cars to know what they need and stay in front of repairs and maintenance. It can save you a lot of headaches and expense.

Kurt and his team of Specialists have always been honest and transparent about my 2010 Mini Cooper S maintenance/repairs. As a woman, and owner of a sports car, this team of professionals has my respect as they have never assumed that Im not interested or knowledgable about my car. Kurt has always taken time to educate and inform me of why and when any work is needed. I have taken my car to another "European" auto repair place in Tulsa and the work was sub-par. I will not take my vehicle anywhere else again! Thank you Kurt and the rest of your team at EAS for your reliability and committment to excellence! --Christine D.

Run away or get ripped off for services that will not even be completed. As a result of having them service my vehicle I have a broken air filter box, broken battery box, my check engine light is STILL on, I still have a suspension problem, and my wallet is $2000 lighter. They charged me for changing a valve cover seal when it is obvious by the undisturbed dust/grime that this was never done. When I approached the owner they insisted that it was done but "they use the right tools." After belittlement, all I can say is it was a very bad experience for both me and my car. You would have better luck at the Dealerships.
