WARNING: Don’t commit your trust; DON’T invest your time, and DON’T spend money here! Their warranty states as indicated on their invoice, “Warranty on Mechanical Repairs (Parts and Labor) is 24 months or 24,000 miles whichever comes first.” I took my car to Cartec THREE times when it is still under their warranty. Service Advisor Linda Waddle AGREES my car is still under Cartec’s warranty, but Linda declares Cartec is unable to provide a price estimate for the coolant leakage repair (she was able to during my 1st and 2nd visit), also indicating Cartec’s INABILITY TO UPHOLD their WARRANTY. I do not understand why Cartec promote a warranty but DOES NOT CARRY THROUGH AND uphold their marketing tagline, ““Car Trouble? We fix Everything!” I was hit with the realization after entrusting Cartec, compensating Cartec $1876.26 to fix coolant and oil leaks, the coolant leakage was still present, no one seems to want to help me even though my car is still covered under Cartec warranty, Cartec asks I pay more to fix the same problem --- coolant leak. Cartec cheated MY TIME AND MONEY, and I don’t want any of you to fall victim too. Do yourself a favor before spending money and time here folks. Cartec will over charge you, Cartec employees possess no ethics, and most importantly Cartec’s service has --- NO INTEGRITY. Cartec, you claim to “complete a full maintenance inspection on the vehicle while [you] have vehicle in shop” but the coolant leak still persists thereafter under your company warranty, then don’t try to excuse it as a “new” problem saying Cartec “never touched this part so [Cartec is] not responsible for this.” Your 1/9/16 invoice clearly states the repair procedures as, “Pressure test, cooling system and inspect for leaks… Test radiator cap and pressure test cooling system for leaks. Test fan clutch and/or electric coolant fan operation. Test engine temperature for proper thermostat operation. Test drive vehicle and reinspect for coolant leaks.” Then why did I pay you $1876.26 to work on coolant leak on 1/12/16? Does this mean, I paid you but you never touched my car’s coolant system? Then how credible is your service work if you list tech names, labor description/costs, to fix the coolant, but tell me today, you are only responsible for what you touch? The invoice clearly shows ALL that you “touched” --- but you deny ever “touching” --- then, just what exactly has Cartec done for me all this time? No work ethics at all, save yourself the trouble and don’t take a chance with Cartec, please.

Avoid at all costs. I came in with no heat. They replaced my radiator and some related parts. Still no heat and $700 down the drain. To top it off they told me they couldnt figure out why I was still not getting heat and that it would be costly to figure out the cause (thry didnt check numbers gasket, or maybe they did and waited for it to worsen). Next the situation becomes gradually more horrific. I decide I can live with no heat since spring was around the corner and cold air was working. A month ago my car stalled out. Cartec told me I had a blown head gasket ( likely caused by overheating that should have been detected when they replaced radiator). I tell them I cant afford 3000 to fix gasket. So I go home with car still driveable. Now that the hot summer is here my car is overheating. I wish Cartec had mentioned that I could try a chemical sealant (such as Bars HG-1) $60 is much better than 3000. They could have said it was risky but still cheaper than a new gasket. Now my transmission is shot due to overheating. If they tell you your head gasket is broken, they are looking at dollar signs first. (Try Bars HG-1) and if that doesnt fix headgasket only a replacement will. Dont trust Cartec. I have learned my lesson. They put money first, and customer service last.

My last experience at Cartec far surpassed the "dishonest mechanic" stereotype. I brought my car in for an oil change. I was told it would take 45 minutes. A nail in my tire was discovered so they patched it... for $15 (done for free as a courtesy at other mechanics). The first attempt at patching failed so I was forced to find a ride making me late to my meeting. I asked that while they had my car they would run tests to check on all systems. I did not receive a phone call all afternoon. I finally called 30 minutes before the shop closed and was told I would quickly be called back. That didnt happen so my car stayed over night. In the morning I called again and I was told there was a small leak in the upper radiator hose. Replacing the hose and flushing the radiator was going to cost FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY BUCKS. This is absolute highway robbery. I quickly made two calls to other shops of similar respect and was quoted for the same exact service at $190. I also called the auto parts store and found that the hose only cost $18. Top that all of with the fact that when I told them no and arrived to pick up my car they tried to charge me $155 for testing! I will not be returning to Cartec and I will be warning any and everyone of this dishonest business.

These guys are awesome! I took my Audi in to have the oil changed, engine checked and tires balanced and they did an amazing job and didnt over charge for anything. I was actually surprised when I got the bill (I was expecting it to be a little more expensive than what they had charged). I also inquired about a few other issues my car was having and they went above and beyond answering these questions by pinpointing the problem and giving me an idea of the things that could be causing the issue. I was very impressed with how friendly and helpful they were. I would also like to add that Linda, the woman working at the front desk, was very friendly and went over the top to make sure my son was comfortable and entertained the entire time we were waiting. She put a movie on for him and brought him puzzles, coloring sheets, and balloons to play with. I wont lie, I was a little nervous going here because of some of the reviews I had read but this place turned out to be amazing! I will definitely be back. Thank you guys for everything!

Linda, who works the front desk, was a great help and has a great knowledge of customer service: none of my complaints are about her. I brought my truck to Cartec and the estimated cost was $3300 to fix. $2200 of it was labor!!! After figuring out exactly what needed to be done, I took the parts list they provided me to OReilly Auto Parts and got everything on the list for under $200. Cartec tried making me pay $100 for a refurbished water pump that runs way cheaper brand new! $50 for AntiFreeze?! $80 for some gaskets and $50 for "Shop Supplies," what shop supplies? A $7 bottle of silicone? $80 for a $25 serpentine belt. Well over $100 for a heater core (that didnt even need replacing) and wanted $350 for a $80 fuel level sensor. Just make sure you read your estimates and know what youre paying for.

I found Cartec online while searching for a place that would do an inspection for a used car I was interested in buying. The entire process was smooth and professional. I paid a bit over $100 for them to do (what they claim is) a 2-3 hour inspection of the vehicle. In all honesty, I felt that the report I was given was barely more than you would get if you have a Carfax and a good walk-around on the car. They do the standard point inspections (brakes, fluids, etc), but you can probably find half a dozen places that do that for free. Overall, I felt like I overpaid for what I got, but if you are a total newbie to used car buying and need someone to help hold your hand about a vehicle, I think the service they offer here is fair - I just wouldnt personally use it again.
