My daughter has attended La Petite for three years. She has always enjoyed it. They are conveniently located for us and have excellent hours. The ability to have them transport her to school, while dependent on the current population of kids, is wonderful and one of the most important aspects for us. She began there as a 4 yr old for pre-school. The regular instruction, caring teachers and good facility helpedm prepare her for kindergarten. She had a very positive transition from a home-based daycare during her toddler years. I can only think that they would have been a good place for her then too. Now that she is in school, they continue to have interesting activities for the students after school and on "no-school" days. She has learned about other cultures and important events in a unique way through some teacher developed activities. During the summer they keep the kids active and run frequent field trip activites. She has never felt like she was bored attending La Petite also summer. They also continue the learning experience so that she doesnt suffer from summer decline in her knowledge. Overall it is a good place. I have recommended it to many friends and co-workers. Some of them have even enrolled, providing us both with a little tuition payback.

We moved our 3yr old son to La Petite a little over a month ago and we couldnt be happier with switching him over to this center! The staff are very kind, inviting, encouraging, and supportive. Everyone really does appear to enjoy their job and the children. They are easy to talk with and willing to work with you about any concerns. Just in the short time our son has been with La Petite, I can see many positive changes in him. Our last pre-school had us feeling as if we had a "bad" son which is entirely not true, it really was just a wrong fit for all of us and I am grateful to have found La Petite. They "get" our son and have "no concerns" - he really is a normal 3yr boy! I also really like that they follow a national cirriculum and provide you with weekly details each session. I have started checking out recommended library books at the beginning of each 2 week session, so we can continue the themes at home. Our son has enjoyed sharing what he has learned at school along with us at storytime.

We enrolled our daughter here at 6 months; shes now 2. We have been completely pleased with our experience with La Petite. The teachers all demonstrate incredible care and dedication. Theyve partnered with us as our daughter transitioned from bottles to table food, and now as she begins potty training, in ways that compliment the methods were using at home. She has severe peanut allergies and I have complete confidence in the safety (and nutritional quality!) of the food and environment, as well as in the staffs training to respond, should something unexpected happen. I work for UI so I also appreciate that they follow UIs emergency closing schedule rather than the more-frequent public school closing schedule. We regularly see La Petite teachers out and about in Iowa City and our daughter loves seeing them, giving them hugs and high fives. Its clear that the teachers at La Petite care about the work they do and the ones they care for. Highly recommended!!

We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter that we enrolled at La Petite when she was 2 months old. Everything about the facility was great, we really had no complaints. But at age 2 we switched her to another very reputable facility to save some money. After we had changed facilities we noticed that she was not learning as much and she was not as well behaved as she used to be. So at 2 1/2 we switched her back to La Petite and the changes were almost instantaneous. We noticed a change the very first day she came home. She was more well behaved, temper tantrums decreased significantly and learning has picked up again. One of the things we had been working on her with was to become potty trained and within two weeks La Petite she has made tremendous strides. I would highly recommend La Petite to anyone. They might cost a little more, but you get what you pay for.

We enrolled our daughter at 4 months and she is now 2 1/2. I love to tell everyone that she is enrolled at the Academy (when she has not started school yet :)). I have been really happy with the care received here. All my concerns have been heard and dealt with in a caring and professional manner. I am raising a bilingual child and the teachers offered to learn some non-English words to help and comfort my daughter when needed. We made HUGE progress in potty training and overall behavior because of that. Thank you LPA!

A very nice daycare center! Conveniently located, caring staff, and organized. My kids really enjoy the center and always look forward to going. The summer program for the school-age is very reasonable, especially considering lunch/snacks and field trips are included. They are also open during the weeks after school ends and before the new school - many programs are closed. A bonus- if you have more than one child, they do have a discount.
