I requested hardware replacement (a fan). Software was installed on my computer without prior notification My Windows Installer software was corrupted and disabled so I am unable to repair my HP CoolSense software. Trying to install the upgrade to System Mechanic resulted in my original version of System Mechanic being deleted becase the Windows Installer is no longer working. Either the shop installed Malware and viruses on my computer or they disabled my HP CoolSense and Windows Installer in such a way that I cant figure out how to re-enable them. My firefox internet browser had installed add-ons stripped and settings changed. My favorites were changed. I did not request that my browser be changed to match the repair shop preferred settings. Google search engine worked just fine before the computer was brought to the shop. While at the shop, google became redirected to other sites. Why was the software changed as an unasked for "bonus service" above and beyond what I requested? Why were my custom internet browser add-ons removed when I requested a fan replacement? And then have the deletions explained as browser infection removal? Why was my hard drive challenged and tested when I wanted a fan replacement? But the fan is quieter, so that part was good. I did not request that my internet ad-blockers be deleted, my foreign language dictionaries be deleted, my internet image lookup TinEye be deleted, my Social Media add-ons be deleted, my HP CoolSense be blocked from working, my browser favorites be rearranged, etc. I did not request the 2009 Malwarebytes software be installed, with my Avast! and Spybot software deactivated. I wanted the hardware repaired (which was apparently well done), but I was billed for changing my software and adding malware which I did not request or approve.

My brother and I were in the position where we needed to upgrade my elderly mother’s computer that she had purchased in the 1990’s. She was very resistant to the change as she did not want to upgrade from Word 2000 that was installed on her computer, and did not want the computer to be different whatsoever on her end of things. Benn was able to get a newer, refurbished computer that allowed us to upgrade the internet connection, add remote access so that we could assist my mother when she needed help, and add updated peripherals and usb ports; while cloning her hard drive, mimicking what she saw on her end, yet making improvements to assist with the issues that she has with low vision and limited computer skills. My mother is hard to please and has a low frustration threshold, so we had to be very specific about what we needed. To say that we were pleased with the outcome is an understatement. What Benn did for my mom’s computer set-up has made our life infinitely easier. I would definitely recommend Benn for computer repair, set-up, installation, or whatever. I am not a computer person so I don’t know the technical terms to explain his expertise. I just know that he really understands the needs of the user and is able to resolve the issues and provide the appropriate service needed.

I can not begin to express how thankful I am that I found e-Wise Computer Repair. I thought I had lost everything, but Benn recovered almost all of my files when my hard drive crashed and would not spin up. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to computers, and has many years of experience. Dealing with Benn I received prompt, reliable and courteous service. Each time I go into retrieve a file that Benn recovered I am reminded how truly thankful I am for meeting him. The recovery of my files and the computer information that I received from Benn is beyond amazing. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing computer help. Thank you so much Benn for getting my files retrieved in less than 24 hours. For all of my future computer needs or questions you will be the one that I call. Thanks again--Laurie Heckman

Our computer was finally brought to its knees on 9/12/10. I brought the tower over to Benns on Monday morning and he removed 800 viruses and I got it back on 9/14/10. The extra time was for one virus that was messing up Firefox. He spent hours getting that last bug out and only charged me 2 hours on the tower and 15 minutes on the laptop I had him scan as well. We had to make some adjustments to the IE display and favorites when I got it home but by remote access, he was able to fix that too. Lastly on 9/19/10, I was having issues with my IPOD connecting to Itunes. Benn was the only one able to fix this by reloading Itunes. The people at Apple, including a senior techie, was unable to solve this. Benn did. I would HIGHLY recommend Benn Dunnnington to solve all of your computer issues.

My laptops battery shorted out and I was originally urged by my dad to reach out to Geek Squad. They told me that my laptop would have to be shipped the manufacturer but because it was out of warranty would cost more. They said my computer would be gone 4-6 weeks, and as a college student with the end of the semester wrapping up in a month, I couldnt wait that long, so I reached out to Benn. Even though I emailed him on a Saturday, he responded to me almost immediately and ordered the part I needed that same night. It came in a few days later, and he had the new battery installed and some other basic maintenance done within an hour of my leaving it with him. Five days (which was solely waiting for the part to come in) was a lot faster than four weeks and Im so glad I went to Benn instead.

Benn Dunnington is so helpful---trustworthy---honest---reasonable rates --a knowledgeable computer tech. I have had multiple problems over the years and now feel so fortunate to have found Benn to help me. I bought a new computer and found him because I wanted the bloatware removed. He not only fixed up my new computer, but one i thought i would have to throw away. The fact that I trust Benn is a comfort one does not often have in this technical world. He takes time to explain things, shows me how things work, informs me about features I might wish to use --- features I did not know I had. He is quick and thorough and guarantees his work. I highly recommend taking your computer to ewise. Margaret Brumm

e-Wise is an excellent service; I was very pleased with my experience. I had a laptop with no hope of recovery and not only was all my information able to be saved but I was offered a good deal on a new set-up with my hard drive cloned and everything ready to go upon pick-up. The thing I appreciated most though was how good of communication there was, I was given clear options and received helpful advice on what was best for my situation without any feeling like my computer ignorance was being taken advantage of. I will definitely recommend e-Wise to anyone who asks where they should take their computer for service!

I was nervous about just picking someone off the web but I picked a total winner. I could not be happier with the prompt, thoughtful, reasonable service I received from Benn. Although my 7 year old laptop died and would not boot, he was able to save my hard drive and set up my new computer with all my files - even my bookmarks and desk top icons. What a joy to turn on the computer and have to do nothing else to use it! Benn was also very helpful answering all questions and concerns I had. For polite, knowledgeable, reasonable, efficient and ,may I say kind, service you will be very happy you picked e-Wise.
