Worst place Ive ever been to. I cant express how disappointed I am. First it started with them telling me 4 different things one minute I can go swimming at this time the next I couldnt. Then they tell me its cheaper if I pay each time my child comes in there then get them a membership which was a complete lie so I paid for a year membership for my son which I completely regret. I have never and would never suggest this place to anyone so before you think about paying money to this place please reconsider. Ive had the worst experiences here and the employees are absolutely terrible. I have never complained on anyones site or rated anyone before but this is just couldnt help my self. I asked the girls at the front desk to speak to someone above them so they gave me a card to call or email the general manager so I did that number went straight to the front desk so I proceeded to ask her if I could speak with the manager and she said well shes in a meeting you can email her though so I did and its been nearly 3 months without a reply. I went I there yesterday around 11:45 to take my son swimming and found out they are no longer opening the swimming pool until 4pm which pissed me off so bad because Im paying for a year membership for three people for them to say the hours that I could go swimming which doesnt make any sense to me because its not like the drain the pools they stay open 24/7. Ugh I hate this place I really do. Since Ive been here Ive had the worst experiences ever. Etown swim needs to shut down!

It would be easiest to first highlight the positive. Out of all of the local gyms, this one offers the most classes across a broader schedule. This is the information you will see on your tour, along with the pools, which are their pièce de résistance. Once this magic wears off, the true beast reveals itself. Planning on lifting weights? Good luck, as you get a corner of a restructured gym with temporary walls and outdated/broken equipment. It is in desperate need of repair and showcases the emphasis they place on weightlifting. Do you have children? Great, as they offer child care. What they fail to mention however, is that the price per child for their care is not permanent and will fluctuate as needed. Of course, this is in their favor. There is no grandfathering in of the price, even if you pay your membership up front for a 12 month period. You will pay what the current price is, regardless of your membership duration. Already we have had this happen. Additionally, their outdoor pool are not always available. With the beginning of school, hours for the pool change to maximize profits when having to pay lifeguards. Oh, did they fail to mention that in your tour? Sorry, you already paid. Try again next year. You get a 4 hour window during the weekdays and all the children on the weekends. Have fun! If Etown Swim and Fit cared as much to maintaining its customer retention as it did to making/saving a buck, this place could be great. In the meantime, make sure you read the fine print.

I too have had ups and downs. But the downs have been pretty big downs. They abuse the basketball players that like the play in the evening, setting upon them ridiculous rules for pickup bball when they should be left to the players. Also setting upon them rules about how long a pickup game can be played for. Managment has come down the stairs to the court holding up signs to stop the game so they can check peoples wristbands (they only give them to ones playing bball) and they have also been known to blow whistles until you are forced to stop the game and show your wristbands. They are extremely intrusive to the guys playing. How would you like it if everytime you went to the gym to workout someone held up a sign or blew a whistle for you to completely stop moving so they can check everyones membership in the gym. Any refusal or aggravation by their patrons is met with the calling of "security" or the POLICE! Yes the police have been called numerous times over BS. There is hardly any negotiating with these people over the Bball issue, even though they have lost MANY customers over it. The customer service is mostly rude, short and un friendly. You just get this feeling like they are all so excited to be there...not.

Ive been fighting to cancel my subscription for over six months, Ive provided proof time and again that Ive moved to Louisville, yet they give me the run around. Its been so long that Ive finished my contract, and I was just charged AGAIN even though Ive been getting mail notifications that theyre going to cancel once the account has finished. Im fed up with the service here! When I did use the facility it was decent. The pool is nice, as is the cardio center, I feel they need to add a bit more equipment. Night staff is very friendly and very helpful, however morning staff can be a hassle to deal with. Office staff is ALWAYS on lunch and never seems to be there! I REGRET SIGNING ON HERE, and am glad to see that there are more gyms going to the area!

I have been a member at both ESFC and Energy, ESFC appears to be more family oriented unless you use their daycare. The daycare members there have no idea what they are doing. I walked in today and my 6 month old daughter was crying. I asked what happened and the worker told me that another kid had pulled her out of a chair!!! I asked why she wasnt buckled in to a chair meant for an infant and the girl looked at me like I was stupid. The manager apologized and said they had problems with this kid to begin with, but wouldt kick them out of daycare and now my daughter has a knot on her head. Energy has much better childcare and their people are CERTIFIED to watch children. Dont go to ESFC!!!!!

Below average facility. Equipment is mostly old, outdated, or squeaky and dirty. Staff is very unfriendly, and not interested in current customers. When you want to leave the place, it is nearly impossible, and I cant seem to get cancelled properly based on their policies. Not sure if their policies are legal or not, but they require an original signed document of cancellation request before they will consider you no longer a member; and all the while you are no longer attending, they will send you nastygrams and collection agents to try and extract more money out of you. Worst business practice for membership I have ever come acrossed anywhere. Do NOT join.

Facilities are okay if a little worn in areas. Class offerings are good if a little overcrowded in the evening and staff is friendly. Childcare is not the best. Frequently has high child/caregiver ratios especially in the evening. Always has a TV on and is in a very small room that is often overcrowded. They do not follow their own written childcare policies and the management doesnt care about member concerns. Plus they are one of the only gyms that actually charge for childcare if you dont have a family account. May be good for parents of older children but not so much if they are smaller.
