The company was hired through my home warranty to diagnose and repair sewage backing up into our basement. After having a technician out the first time who couldnt clear the line, they promised to come back out the next day with the "right equipment" to get the job done. I called twice before they finally had someone out the second time about a week or more later. Then he couldnt get the line to clear with the bigger equipment so he had to "come back with the camera". I had to call again multiple times to get this to happen. Finally I had a camera diagnosis and was promised a quote that week. Over the next month (all during which we had limited use of water without sewer backing up into our house) I politely asked 4 different times (and not politely one time) if they would provide a quote and copy of the camera video to me. Today I was told no video was taken despite my paying them $275 for the camera work and they promised a quote by the end of the day again and I received nothing. Now I must pay $250 to camera the line again so that I can get a quote from another company. Joe Lay did nothing for my money. They get 2 stars because the technicians were nice and the receptionist was nice. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They have been very unprofessional and did not perform the services I requested.

I was assigned Joe Lay & Sons through my home warranty company. After they were assigned they promptly called me to set up a time. They had great immediately availability (even available the next day)! They gave me 30 minute windows for arrival! This was something Ive never heard of! No more are the 8 hour windows of someone to maybe show up...30 minutes! Once I locked in my appointment, I got an email from them with the details. A nice touch as I work mainly through email. The day of, they did show up within the 30-minute window. Why arent all companies this together?! The gentleman was polity and well dressed. Actually, the company was sponsor breast cancer awareness with their company shirts. My mom has breast cancer and that just hit home with me :) He was in and out within less than an hour and my problem was solved! No mess was left behind, which I have experienced with previous companies. I would highly Joe Lay & Sons and plan on using them for any potential future work.

We discovered this morning that our water heater had failed. We called our home warranty company and they directed us to call Joe Lay & Sons. When we called them they said that they couldnt schedule the call until the insurance claim came in (we called working moments of our insurance call). But in the meantime we should text them some pictures so they could assess in advance. The pictures led them to diagnose a replacement instead of repair and once the claim came through they were on the way. They quickly removed the old water heater and installed the new one. We had hot water before noon. The two men that came were very professional and worked quickly.

I carry a home warranty and recently my hot water heater blew up and we had three to four inches of water and sewage on our basement floor. There was so much water that are drain could not handle it. Joe Lay and Sons were called in for an expedited call on emergency basis on the Saturday at 10 a.m. Their receptionist Tiffany was rude and said there was no way that they could supply emergency services on the weekend yet the advertise 24 hour seven days a week emergency service. This is a bogus company falsely advertising for services they do not render . They do not offer any type of emergency service on the weekends. Beware!

Glad I called these guys. Replaced my water heater in 24 hours working through American Home Shield home warranty. American home shield originally assigned this to a lesser reputable company that couldnt come out to look at it for two days. After some searching I came across JL&S and their good reviews and had AHS switch to them. Rob called me immediately after receiving the order and set it up for the next day. Randy showed up the next day, and according to my wife was very polite and professional. The job was performed and they cleaned up the mess. Highly recommended.

Had to shut off my main water valve to the house and needed someone to fix a leak quickly. Called them and had someone at my door within an hour. Did a great job and very reasonable charge considering the circumstances. My serviceman was named Chad and he could have told me I needed extra work done, but he said it wasnt necessary. I trust this company and will always use them now. Highly recommend them.

I was assigned Joe Lay & Sons Plumbing by my warranty company. They were the second contractor I was assigned as the first, One Source, never came back to complete the work they were hired to do and they would not respond to me or the warranty company. Joe Lay & Sons came, fixed my problem and were so professional. I highly recommend them.

I scheduled an appointment with Joe Lay & Sons to look at my water heater. On the first appointment, no one showed up or called to cancel. On the second try, after not showing up again, I called and was told they might show up in another hour. I wouldnt recommend attempting to give them your business.

poor communication skills.. had my water off for a week and NEVER called.. i had to call them. as if they didnt even care.. wouldnt suggest if you have a serious problem.. serious situations sometimes requires the A team not the 3rd string who doesnt have proper equipment.

I experience was similar to Micah and K L. I would NOT recommend this company! They are unprofessional and unorganized. My warranty company has issued a cancellation notice to terminate them as a vendor. I gave a one star rating b/c I had to but it should be zero!

Chad and John were fantastic! They came and fixed a leaky toilet pipe and gave me A BRAND NEW toilet! They even worked overtime and made sure everything was tip top shape. I will definitly call again if needed! Keep up the great work!

Needed leaking water heater replaced. They accommodated a time and showed up on time and got it done the day I called them. Worked efficiently and professionally and if they made a mess they cleaned up before I saw the results.
