I was very glad for Mark Cox’s knowledge and determination to solve a skylight installation problem caused by a different roofing contractor. Mark, the Residential Skylight Specialist and founder of Assurance Roofing, custom crafted a solution to complete the dual skylight replacement project in my sunroom. If I had consulted the Velux website, I would have first found Mark, who is Veluxs ONLY 5-star certified installer in the Louisville, KY area. Mark explained to me that the 5-star Velux designation allows him to attend invitation-only regional factory product training where he is continually educated on, and required to demonstrate proficiency with, the wide variety of updated Velux products, applications, materials and installation techniques. Because of Mark’s experience and creativity, he was able to preserve the expensive interior poplar wood trim carpentry work that had been completed around two unusually large skylights while he completely recrafted the exterior skylight installation in order to fix the errors the previous contractor had made. I am glad that Velux generously helped me find Mark Cox when I reached out to them to answer my concerns about the other contractor’s work and I have put Assurance Roofing in my address book for all future roof work on my home.

I had a very positive experience with Assurance. Mark spent a lot of time on the front end explaining the process and options. They use quality materials, and the crews do quality work. A couple of things that differentiate Assurance: 1) Their crews hand-nail the shingles, where a lot of others use nail guns – nail guns are faster, but hand-nailing gives you a better chance of the nails going in straight and at the proper depth. 2) Mark uses raw materials from a single "system" of products – if there happens to be any product deficiencies down the line, this avoids a scenario where different manufacturers put the blame on each other. When they came to parts of the job that required a decision to be made, Mark brought the situation to me and explained the pros and cons of each option. If youre looking for the cheapest job, this may not be the company for you; but if you want your roof done right with no shortcuts, I recommend Assurance.

I choose Assurance Roofing for my chimney repair because of past reviews, the companys experience and being fully insured, and the fact that Mark Cox, the owner and contractor, uses and commits to top industry standards for chimney replacement and repair. (I didnt even know there were industry standards for chimneys, but there are; and Mark subscribes to them.) I had my roof installed by another company; Mark found substandard work performed by that company and corrected it at no additional cost. His goal was to correct my leaking and dilapidating chimney the right way, the first time. Next time I need a roof repair, Ill call Assurance Roofing for sure! I rate this company as excellent. Call him for an estimate. You will not be pressured and you will have more information about your roof or chimney than you knew existed.

We bought an older home. The roof had been replaced around 2 years before we bought it. After our purchase (of ‘as is’) we noticed that when it rained the upstairs bedroom wall, that was along the chimney, leaked water down the rooms wall. We called a chimney professional. He came. He took a ladder up but did not go on our roof and checked it out. His estimate was very pricey and his ideas did not seem to make sense. So we called a roof expert for his proposal. That was Mark at Assurance Roofing. He went unto the roof for about 15-20 minutes. He came down with pictures and ideas what he thought might be the reason for the leaking. Long story short, his estimate was half the price and it worked. We feel he is honest and reasonable. Glad we used him.

Having retired from the Engineering profession after forty years Ive experienced a lot of work performed by contractors. I have to say that Assurance rates up there with the best contractors I have ever worked with. The re-flashing of my 45 year old leaking chimney was done promptly and expertly.(it doesnt leak now) The pricing was very reasonable in my opinion. The job was cleaned up so well that one could hardly know that any work had been done. It was a pleasure to work with a professional who does what he says hes going to do and shows up on the job when he says hes going to.
