I contacted Above Roofing at the beginning of April 2016. Robert showed up exactly on time, and was very professional. The estimate process actually began inside the house up in the attic. Robert was checking for ventilation and the condition of the wood decking. Above Roofing was the only contractor to do this (very impressed). Robert then spent a good 45 minutes on the roof going over everything with a fine tooth comb. Please note, that only half of the contractors we had out got on the roof. In my opinion how can a contractor provide a good estimate if they dont do a complete inspection. Needless to say, those contractors were immediately cut. Robert found some flashing issues along with why we had wood rot next to the gutter. The gutter was cut too short when it was installed 18 years ago. Robert gave me an estimate on the spot and spent a good deal of time discussing his companys process for installation. Again I was very impressed and it was evident that this is a company that takes a great deal of pride in their work. This is exactly what I was looking for considering that Im not on the roof, and honestly would have no idea what I was looking at anyway. I will say that Above Roofing is not the cheapest path to go, however, you get what you pay for. Plus the last thing I wanted was to have a leak...by that time its way too late. Additionally, Robert told me that the job could take up to 3 days. He was the only contractor to tell me this....the other ones told me one day. Again, whats another 2 days to ensure a quality job. Furthermore, Robert was setting expectations up front which I appreciated. On the day of the job, the crew showed up on time and got right to work. We had some weather in the area, so they only worked for one day (about 40% of the job was complete). However, Above Roofing is methodical and they make sure the house is weather proof before leaving the site. The crew returned on Monday, and had the job done by the end of the day. Very well done plus their clean up process is very thorough. I didnt find one nail in the landscaping, but that wasnt surprising given how careful they were around the plants. The only time I found nails was after the dumpster was removed. However, these were under the dumpster...I wouldnt expect the crew to find those any way. Robert came back out to walk the property with me one last time, and he found a few areas that didnt meet his standards (did I mention his standards are very high). A small crew was out the next day, and they wrapped up quickly. Overall, I am very pleased with Robert and the Above Roofing team. As I mentioned before, they are not the cheapest operation but Im impressed with the quality. Ive recommended them to all my neighbors, and my next door neighbor used them as well.

We decided to select Above Roofing because of all the wonderful things we had read on Angie’s List. Robert came to our home initially to give us an estimate, but before that, he and his helper spent quite a bit of time up on the roof. They also checked the attic and found some rotting had taken place on the decking in one area that needed to be replaced. He explained everything to us, covering items we hadn’t even thought about. He discussed the various levels of roofing products, what goes under the shingles, the warranty, the way the roofers are taught to apply the product, the strict procedures of their work, the crew is insured by Above Roofing so we need not fear liability, and I’m sure other things I’ve forgotten. After this meeting we felt very confident that we made the correct choice in roofing company. My wife’s main concern was how the roof would look when finished and which color she should pick. She knew what she wanted but when you look are looking at a small sample of shingles it is difficult to visualize the entire roof covered with that sample. Robert made a couple of suggestions that made the decision a no-brainer. The day the work was scheduled the crew arrived right at 7:00 am. They proceeded to cover what needed to be covered to protect the landscape and got to work. The job took 2 days and everyone was very professional and careful. They did an excellent job in cleaning up and none of our plantings were damaged in the process. We now have the best looking roof in the block!

To be clear we did not go with them but we had quotes for an entire roof replacement and got quotes from 4 very reputable vendors, 2 of which we used before. Quotes for 3 were between 7300-9100 dollars. Above Roofing was 23580. Not sure if the sales guy saw my wife and thought she would not know what is going on but with roofing shingles being exact same for one of our quotes there is no way this is not a ripoff quote. Sure they could do a good job but at that price, that is ridiculous. The fact the sales guy tried to tell us that they have all this new technology in place just made it seem like he thought that was a fair price. For reference, Melvin Belk who we chose and used before has over 400 positive reviews on Angies List came in at 7300.

Robert and his crew were excellent! Everything from bidding the job to completion went smoothly without any issues. One of the first reasons I choose them for the job was that the sales process wasnt pushy. In fact, they even recommended that I get several quotes first, and explained that theyd likely be somewhere in the middle of those quotes on price. The other companies I had come out were trying to tell me that the discounts they were offering were only good if I decided right there on the spot. Above roofing have me a written quote with a 30 day price lock. Very satisfied with the work they did and how quickly the job was completed. Have already recommended them to several friends and will continue to do so.

Our initial meeting with Robert was very impressive. He provided documentation outlining his intended scope for our roofing project, his company core values and guarantees, along with the roofing manufacturers warranty. We felt the Above Roofing cost was both competitive and fair and we were very satisfied with the communication from Above Roofing regarding delivery of materials and the start date of the project. On the day of the project, the foreman and crew arrived right on schedule, as promised. They were both professional and courteous. We have used Above Roofing not only for a few different smaller jobs, but also recently for a major project involving the replacement of 12 skylights and the installation of a roof venting system to work in conjunction with those skylights. It was a technically challenging job which required much attention to detail. Above Roofing "nailed it"! Everything is not only properly installed, but is aesthetically pleasing, too - inside and out! The Above Roofing crew is polite, professional, organized, and good at communicating exactly what to expect. We highly recommend Above Roofing; we wouldnt call anyone else for our roofing needs.
