Do you ever wonder if the reviews you read are legitimate, especially when you see a five-star rating? Well, I am here to tell you that these ratings and reviews are absolutely legit. I had a mayday situation with my laptop, and I saw my whole life pass before me, as I heard a throbbing alarm type beep and realized I could not get beyond my Dell logo screen. None of the commands would work and the only way I could turn off my computer was to hold down the power button. I have a website business that I launched January 1 (with 15 web pages), and I felt sick just imagining what might have happened. I called one tech service and they thought they could send someone over in a few hours. I called this company, Hartland Computer Service, and the person who answered immediately responded to my level of distress. Although they work by appointments and he was already booked, he stopped what he was doing and took the time to listen to the details of my problem and to ask questions. Then he found the specs for my laptop and coached me over the phone, one step at a time, to see if we could recover and restore the normal functions. It worked! I offered to send him a check, but he would not take it. The other company would have charged me $99 for a home visit--on a problem I could have solved! Bottom line: On a rating of one to five, I give this company a six! --Sharon D

I was very impressed right off the bat with owner Steve and his super responsiveness to my situation. This was my first contact with the company but after looking over the web site, I figured they were very capable....so I called him and told him I feared my hard drive was dead on my iMAC and that as a full-time self-employed graphic designer, I could not afford down time. I took it in immediately and then he rushed it through, even as they were in the throes of moving to another location. He told me up front an estimated cost. He also told me what to expect as far as communications from them and he did let me know as soon as he could what was wrong and gave me a couple of options on the hard drive. And then he kept me in the loop over the next day and had the computer ready as promised. There was a minor problem when I got the computer home, but he and his staff were attentive and it was resolved. I was very happy with the level of professionalism and friendliness. You need to be able to have confidence that the people who work on your computer (or car, or broken arm for that matter) are competent, reliable and fair. Hartland lived up to that so I guess they are now "my computer guys". I would recommend Hartland to anybody who needs help with their computers and other electronic devices.

I contacted Hartland Computer Repair regarding a needed repair. Upon describing the issue, this gentleman let me know that this was probably a repair that would be better performed by three other companies in town to whom he referred me. While he said he would certainly attempt it, he felt that the other company would have a greater chance of successfully making this repair than he (just not his strong suit). I very much appreciated his candor and the great referrals that he gave me. He gave me advice on what to look for and the questions to ask of the repair people to make sure that they were confident that they could fix the problem; that it needed someone who had the experience and technical ability, not just the desire to try to fix it. So Hartland Computer will always be my first call for any computer issues from now on.

Steve was very knowledgeable. He took his time to go above and beyond what repairs were quoted for my laptop and added new virus protection (for free), and went over some additional information on how to utilize my computers capabilities better when I picked it up. He charged me exactly what was quoted, which was about $200 less than what a competitor had quoted and had it back to me exactly when he said he would. He is professional, he knows what hes doing, and he follows through on what he says he will do. I now need another repair for my laptops screen and will be calling him this week to do it for us. I would highly recommend him to anyone for any of their computer needs. I dont think there is anyone in the area who can do the job better or cheaper! Thanks Steve!!!

I dropped my laptop and, after seeing the positive reviews here, took it to Steve to see what he could do. I wasnt expecting much considering I had dropped that sucker from a few feet onto some hard concrete, but I was amazed that Steve was able to not only get it running again with a new hard drive, but was able to salvage some of the data from the old one. He might have been able to do even more, but was very professional in letting me know that doing so might exceed my budget. If only repairpersons in other fields had that level of "customer-first" service. Bottom line: Steve is the best in Lexington and surrounding areas. If you have a problem call him first. He saved me time, money, and a lot of stress.

Communication with Steve was clear, the work was completed quickly, within our agreed time frame, and he was thorough. My 2004 Dell Dimension runs much like new. The price was higher than the quote, but the computer required more work than we anticipated. I would gladly take my computer to Steve over the "geek squad" or any other big business. Steve was able to speak to me, a former computer tech, in a way that did not make me inferior, as well as explain more complex issues that I did not understand. I cannot speak higher of his service. It was a pleasure to work with Hartland Computer Repair, and support a small local business. I would recommend Steve & Hartland to all of my family and friends.

I recently bought a new computer to replace my older very slow Dell desktop. I called Hartland Computer for help in moving the old unit upstairs, and putting the new unit in the downstairs position. Not only did the Hartland computer rep make the move easy, but he made the old unit run like new! Then he networked the old Dell to print on the downstairs printer. Then he made it where I could read the files off the old Dell from the new computer downstairs. I could have never done this on my own! And get this... he was very polite, friendly and really wanted to set up the units to fit my needs. I would not hesitate to call them again or recommend them to a friend.

Hartland Computer Repair Services qualifies as the best technical help I have ever received. I merely needed a diagnostics test and a statement for insurance. I was hoping to discover what was wrong with my computer to assess if I needed it repaired. Steve went way above and beyond the call of duty by not only helping me with what I needed, but teaching me about the various problems my computer had along the way. He was also more than punctual, meeting the deadlines we agreed on ahead of time. If I ever need any more repairs, theres no question as to where I will go.
