I called Mayflower for my move and they made me go through Safeway moving. It was a disaster from start to finish. They showed up late and took forever to load the truck eventhough I had most of the stuff packed for them. They took cigarette brakes, phone brakes, chat brakes, lunch brake and everything in between. They asked me if they can use my cartons for packing the remaining stuff which I did not pack myself because the did not have enough of their own cartons. They showed up 10am and did not finish untill 5pm. I have moved the same stuff before and other company took less than three hours to pack and load stuff without my help. They delivered the stuff late, two cartons were lost, item were broken and I am in the processes of claiming my damage. It is my third month dealing with Tiffany and claim has not moved an inch. I had my stuff fully insured and the are offering my that they can glue my broken furniture. I want all of you to wish me good luck because it does not seem like they are going to take care of my claim. My advise for you is to fly away from safeway moving, if can not fly run away, if can not run walk away, if can not walk crawal away but stay away from safeway moving.

I found the packers and loaders to be very pleasant and competent at their jobs. They did an excellent job protecting my furniture and not 1 item was broke in the process. One packer missed a few items that I ended up packing, and you need to double check all the closets and such as a couple boxes almost got left behind as the loader had thought that room was totally done when it wasnt. FYIs for customers when packing and loading are on 2 different days are: that anything not in a box when the packers leave will need to be put in a box by you (the last minute items like coffee pot). Also, before the loaders take the book shelves, you should take the "pins" that hold the shelves up out and put them in the load last box so you can find them when you move and they dont get lost in the moving process. The loaders do not do this for you. Look closely at the items they will not pack, any batteries, light bulbs, liquids...Some you can pack and they will haul, other items you need to haul yourself or get rid of. Overall I think they did a great job and I would hire them again!

Cant write a review yet. Furniture has not been delivered yet. Furniture was delivered tonight 6 pm. The guys who picked up the furniture were great. The guy who was to deliver told us Friday afternoon, then called and changed it to Sat. When I called on Sat. to ask him what time, he said he didnt know, and that he had already told me he would call me and let me know, then hung up on me. He finally did call and tell me it would be 5:30 pm. He had no other person to help him unload, which I thought was unusual, but he was very polite and friendly. It took about 2 hours, and we had a small load. One thing: the bed when delivered did not have the slats necessary to put the bed together, but this man offered to bring some and help up assemble the bed next week, which I thought was really nice. Everything else was delivered in good shape and nothing missing except the bedslats, which by the way were not even on the inventory.

Maybe I was just lucky, but in exploring moving companies, I got to deal with the GM. He was so professional. There was absolutely no pressure to go with Safeway. Instead, felt like he wanted to educate me on all the considerations in making a decision, regardless of who I ultimately might go with. Bottom line, if my friends with a bunch of pick-up trucks and a move-it-yourself rental did the job, things would get broken, scratched and I suspect there would be A LOT of breaks (labor-wise and household items-wise). Just feels like Safeway was a better way to go. Professional, know what theyre doing, efficient. I highly recommend at least talking to them to find out your options.

I do have to say that when I first started contacting safeway, everyone was really polite and knowledgeable. But then came closer to our move. When I called to confirm a woman told me we were all set and locked in. I later received an email saying that they were overbooked and we needed to look for a new moving company. It does not seem like this company communicates internally very well at all. Now I am scrambling to find a new moving company at virtually the last minute. I am sorry but I will not use safeway in the future and I will not be recommending their service to anyone.

I am responsible for the internet marketing for Safeway. I can assure you that I nor the staff at Safeway Moving have or will flag any reviews. Apparently however, it seems that we too are a victim of unwanted flagging as is illustrated by the unfair one star review left by a "Bill" below. It appears that "Bill" is the one flagging reviews and leaving bad reviews as well. Safeway Moving is Licensed and legal. It is not productive for them nor I to spend time flagging reviews. Look elsewhere to other sources for the petty games.

The representative sent to my house said nothing at all about the cleanliness of the home or area. He promised 5 men and 2 trucks. We moving day came 3 men showed up, realized the job could not be done by 3 men for the price bid and called for a "supervisor" to "assess the situation". A boy named Ben showed up and declared.the home "unclean" and pulled his men from the job. Ben was very rude and disrespectful and had no answer as to why cleanliness had not been mentioned by earlier representative sent. BUYER BEWARE

These guys are super careful with your furniture and personal items treating them like they would their own personal furnishings. Give them a call for a complete assessment before you need to move cross country, across town or from one room to the next. They will take good care of you!!!
