THIS DAYCARE IS HORRIBLE!!!!! I used to take my son here since he was a few months old, but finally stopped after a major incident. There were issues off and on like he was left in a high hair for a long time while screaming and crying(like other moms said)so the staff could clean and leave without having to stay late. Or hed be changed into his new clothes because he was left in a dirty diaper until hed have a blow out. The business itself is dirty. The place is always filthy, there are no recording cameras, there is never enough staff (often times I would walk in to one or two people for well over 16 kids), the employees are not certified in CPR and most do not have any childcare experience just to name a few things. Over the year I came here I saw them go through a director almost every month. One night my husband and I had a date night, we came to pick up our son right before closing. When we pulled into the parking spot we could see through the front window to where the girls were watching our son. My husband and I both watched as a young man, probably a boyfriend of one of the two girls there, bolted from behind the counter where the girls and my son were and ran to hide in the back dark area of the daycare where the lights had already been turned off. Both my husband and I were extremely uncomfortable with the fact that a man, who was not an employee and therefore had no background check, other checks or any authorization to be in the daycare, was behind the counter distracting the two girls who were supposed to be watching my son. Most of the girls who work there are nice girls, but they are often distracted from watching the children and the other girls are miserable. The final straw for me was, one day after a doctor appointment, I went to pick up my 17 month old son and found out he was put in a chair for a 3 year old with no restraints, being fed a snack I did not bring for him, NOT BEING WATCHED and after tossing the snack across the floor he jumped out of the side of the chair, fell and smashed his head on the ground. The daycare tried to cover it up and not tell me. Half his face was bright red and bruised. The only reason I found out was because one of the employees accidentally said "he fell and hit his head" when I was asking about the bite mark he also had on him. They also tried to tell me the bite mark was a scratch from a hangnail. I waited while they scrambled to write up an incident report. I demanded to speak with the owner so Larry Dodd and I had a long conversation. I asked to see the security camera footage and he told me he stopped recording the daycare because when parents asked to see the footage after an incident he couldnt explain his side of the story because there was no sound to go along with the video. * That should be your first tip to stay away from this place * Larry is an attorney and made sure to point out the law in Louisiana doesnt require a daycare to have recording security cameras. Larry told me, amongst other things this daycare is nothing but problems for him and he thought hed just be able to make a supplemental income without any real investment of his time or energy. I called childcare services to file a complaint against Playdates for what happened to my son. I was contacted by the owner, Larry Dodd, on 02/03/2016. He told me the state came into the daycare this week because of my complaint and found him in violation for over 6 things. He said it was because of my son he was found in violation and now he has to pay a bunch of money, its listed on the website and recorded so everyone can see. Larry actually gave me the name and number of the woman who did the audit and asked me to call her and try and get her to reverse the violations since it was my complaint that brought them there. As is what happened to my son wasnt a big deal. This man is unreal and this daycare is dangerous. The staff is incompetent and inappropriate. They do not care for your child. Heed my warnings. DO NOT GO HERE. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A CHILD IS KILLED OR SEVERLY HARMED.

Weve been using Playdates since my child was a few months old. He is now 3. We have never had a problem with this center and we have been there for years. I cant imagine going anywhere else. The staff are friendly, smart, and well mannered girls. They all work great together as a team and want nothing but the best for our child. The staff are certified in CPR. The only delay would be if someone was a new hire. We are encouraged to voice our concerns. Questions are always welcomed and answered promptly. When my child has bumped his head they are quick to call and upon picking him up an incident report is given. As a parent, it is expected that children will get bumps and bruises in anyones care...including their parents. It is part of being a child. Their minds and bodies are at the beginning stages of development. This center also goes above and beyond by opening up early or staying open late on holidays or special occasions. I dont know of another center that does this. They have been a life saver for our family and I encourage you to check them out and give them a try. Theyre worth it!!

Playdates is an awesome place for those times when you need somewhere safe to leave your children while you take care of business. The staff has made major improvements and is by far the best child care facility Ive seen in the Baton Rouge area. They are sweet, kind, and love to care and play with the kids, which is most important. I never have to worry about my child while he is at Playdates. He always comes home happy and cant wait to go back! They have been a lifesaver to me, and are always available on the spot. Too easy and convenient to use, and you dont have to waste time finding a babysitter or trying to get your extended family to help out during busy times.

This place is horrible and the staff is extremely unprofessional. I was unfamiliar about the whole daycare process I didnt know there were classifications of daycare (i.e. Class A or Class B) so instead choosing to be nice and explain thouroughly, she was rude and charged me $5.00 for a basic lunchable that my son didnt even eat or want. She had a complete lack of empathy. The director seemed a bit confused when I asked her about fees and daycare hours. This was my 1st and absolute last time ever using their services. Not friendly or welcoming at all. Stay away from here!!!!!

Playdates is definately better than hiring a sitter to sit at your house and put you child in front of a television. My 4 children think this place is the best place ever! They would rather be there, interacting with other children, than be at home. The employees are so attentive to the children! I really like the security the facility offers and the fact that a stranger just cant walk in the building! Me & My husband cant wait for our next "date" night - the children too!! Thank you PlayDates for offering such a wonderful service in our area!!!
