Not sure if it was this location or another in the Bangor area but I am a bit disappointed in a matter over a vehicle that I looked at for a customer that ended up in one of your shops for the multi point inspection first off this was an antique automobile second I looked it over and new all of the defects at the time I looked at if and had plans to repair the truck at my facility including scaling and painting the frame removing any old lines that may not have been removed ect as the customer had a credit for repairs it was my understanding this was her dream truck and it was worth every penny she paid for it it is my understanding she was told that it had leaking brake lines leaking fuel lines the frame was bad and the shocks were broken and the drag link was broken first off if the drag link was broken the truck would not steer second it has a suspension lifts with aftermarket shocks that the boots are separate and have to be tied on this is not a defect oh and the lights worked when I looked at the truck she was told they did not work and that it had a major electrical issue come one its probably just a ground its and 85 gmc there are only 4 wires to the tail lights it cant possibly be a major issue since they worked last weekend no way oh yeah and engine leaks come on man it was weaping a bit but there were no major leaks once again its an old school 350 they all weap the plow alone was worth half what she paid for the truck in fact all of the repairs on the truck if not most of them could have been fixed at no cost to her since we were gonna make a trade on the plow remember this truck was looked at and inspected on site by a reputable mechanic who was told it was gonna be dropped at his shop to be gone through I was also told she was basically called a retard for buying the truck well if she brought it to me and had me go through it and had decided she did no longer want the truck she could have in fact gotten all her money back and then some because it would have left my shop with a brand new sticker and a clean bill of health so I thank you for costing me a customer my wifes truck needs tires I will not be buying them at vip nor would I recommend I will have a future review about my last days as an employee in old town store 31 and steve carey as well

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had any where for tires, or service of any kind. I was spoken down to by one young man in particular, who insisted he had all the correct information in his computer, and was argumentative. (I found the original receipt after the ordeal, in the glove box of my car, and found, yes indeed, I was right, and had he read the small print on his beloved computer, he would have found he was wrong.) The complete disregard for their customers will soon find VIP loosing a lot of business if they dont become more customer service centered in their attitudes. On Monday morning, I intend to contact their corporate office to register a formal, written complaint, as well as the better business bureau, and the attorney generals office. I am not one to do this sort of thing, but after spending four hours to have tires swapped from summer to winter, and still not getting it done goes beyond the pale. Add to that the "stupid, dumb female" attitude of the desk clerk, has driven me to it. If you are a woman alone, be aware, find a good neighborhood garage to do your work, as they will treat you poorly at VIP!!!!!

Worst costumer service ever. Went in 10 minutes before they closed (didnt realize they were that close to closing) and asked to test my battery to see if I needed a new one. Tried to tell me to come back the next day because they were busy though there were no cars in sight and 3 guys standing behind a counter talking. Finally they said theyd do it and gave me an invoice slip for $105 bucks. I said I didnt realize it was this expensive just to test a battery and Im going to go call around to see if I can find somewhere lower or even free. The guy got irritated and told me Im not going to find anywhere cheaper and that they close in 10 minutes. Started to walk away mumbling that it was ridiculous that its 105 bucks just to test a battery and the guy yelled across the store asking what i said in a very rude and argumentative tone. Definitely will not be returning to the VIP on stillwater and I advice everyone else to seek other VIP locations.

Doing anything that involves fixing my vehicle is never something I look forward to. In the past, I have been told my vehicle needs X, Y and Z at one shop, and then to later find out I did not need to do those things at all. I have found there to be a lot of hidden fees, and in general, my experience had been negative. However, that was before I got my tire fixed at VIP. I went in knowing that there was a problem with my tire, because it would not hold air, but that was it. I used an at home method of attempting to fix it, but clearly that did not work out. When I brought it in to VIP, the staff kindly explained (in terms I could understand) that the "at home fix" typically makes the situation worse, but that they could fix the issue for the low price of $18. They had me in and out in less then 30 minutes. I have not had an issue with my tire since. At VIP there are no hidden fees or reasons to feel intimidated about getting serviced.

This is one of the better stores in the VIP store network. I had a very bad problem with the VIP store in Calais Maine who did a clutch job and messed up the Job. When I brought the car to the Stillwater VIP Store, they checked out the car, stated there was a problem, made an appointment to fix it. When I brought the car in for the appointment, because I was 100 + miles away from this store, they gave me a rental car so I could go back home because it would take two days to fix the car. They found the problem which was a part had been left out of the car and other things need fixing," they took care of!" The store management at this store are Super in the way they take care of the person. The time they took at their expense to correct a problem which was not theres is fantastic on their part. This is one store that I think is Great.

I had an excellent experience with Roy Smith at the Stillwater Ave. Bangor location. I had a flat on my way to Bangor from Auburn on Sunday. I was able to get to the VIP store in Waterville, however, because I have "run a flat" tires they could not help me with my make of vehicle. I had to leave my car, get a ride to Bangor where I work, and figure out what to do about my car 60 miles away. I went into the Bangor store and Mr. Roy was so knowledgeable! He informed me of my options so that I could make a good decision regarding the replacement of my tires. He took the time to call the Waterville store for me (while I was standing there) and explain what I had decided and why. I felt confident with the decision I made and I can not thank him enough for decreasing my stress! You have a winner in my book with Mr. Roy. Keep him.
