One of my coworkers came back from a trip raving about getting a Brazilian wax. She urged me that it was something that every woman had to do at some point in her life. I started searching for salons in Portland that offered this service, and the one that kept coming up was Andiamo. I immediately called to set up an appointment as I saw that Noelle was going to be out of the salon for a couple of weeks. Because of my work schedule, it seemed as though I was going to be unable to get in to see her for a while. However, she was so fantastic about fitting me in before her vacation. From the moment I walked into the appointment, Noelle made me feel welcome, even getting me in a bit early after she finished up with her previous appointment. As it was my first time, she was wonderful about making me feel comfortable and explaining exactly what she was going to be doing. The procedure itself was much more comfortable than I had anticipated and much better than any waxing that I had gotten in the past. Part of it was the wax that she was using, but I think a much bigger part of it was the fact that Noelle has been doing the technique for so long and has a fantastic mastery. I went in expecting to do this only once but because of the wonderful experience, I have another appointment scheduled. I would recommend Noelle and Andiamo to anyone and everyone.

My name is Tong Lee. The years that I have spent with the US Army, I have not been disturbed much about what has transpired with my hair after haircuts. That particular day after the JC Penny hair stylist cut my hair and the many negative criticisms from several of my medical school classmates, I determined to see if any other hair salons would be able to revamp my hair. One of my classmates has said, your hair “looked like a lawnmower went through it”. First of all, I am so grateful and extremely thankful for the owner Ms. Noelle Tognella to have been able to “fix” my hair from the awful job JC Penny Hair Salon did with my hair. On that day, after conversing with the owner, Ms. Tognella, she told me to come in even after she was closing. When I got there, Ms. Tognella was incredibly polite, considerate, and extremely helpful. After spending 45 minutes with my hair since it was quite short because the hair stylist at JC Penny Hair Salon took the length down, all my classmates told me who did the revamping because it looked remarkable compared to when the JC Penny Hair Salon decimated it. To this day, I am still gratified and grateful with Ms. Noelle Tognella. The time that I am still around the Portland, Maine area, I will always go to ANDIAMO for a haircut. I also highly recommend anyone to go there.

I called in to schedule an appointment. I saw a lot of good reviews and thought it wouldnt hurt to try somewhere new, the place i was going to was just not working for me, I was tired of paying a lot of money for inconsistent service depending on who was doing my hair that day, If Im paying a lot of money, Im expecting quality EVERY time, not 50% of the time... Noelle was able to get me in the day I called ( and technically after closing hours ). I have dark brown long hair and decided to do ombre. She was very professional and thorough in asking questions to make sure we were both on the same page. The color took around 1:30--2 hours (?). The color came out really nice... it blended well with my natural color. It came to around $180.00 for a full color......If your looking for a salon where you can get cut and highlights for under 100 bucks this is probably not the place for you..... however, you will be paying little bit more for a quality service and someone who knows what they are doing. Definitely worth the money (and the 45 minute drive)!

I had such a great experience today with Noelle at Andiamo salon. Yesterday I called to make an appointment for a color, style and extensions consultation and she got me an appointment early the next morning. She took the time to listen to what other services I have had done on my hair within the past year (henna, highlights, and color conditioner) which allowed me to explain what I wanted to have as an end result. Because henna is notoriously impossible to remove with anything except scissors, she explained that we could darken up the hair and add cooler tones to the dye but there might still be some red under-tones. She was very thoughtful in her decision of what types of products to use based on my hairs current health and what I wanted as an end result. In addition to all these wonderful things, I have to say her shampoo chair was possibly the most comfortable one I have ever been in. Without a doubt I would return to this salon and recommend it to any one looking for a professional, friendly hair stylist.

Top 5 signs I have finally found my ideal stylist: * My husbands first reaction, "Great hair" * As with other haircuts, my fine/thin/straight hair did not go into shock; and, with product, actually produced needed volume * Friends (who are always honest) said the blond highlights were soft/natural and the perfect color * Able to style myself in 5 minutes * On days when I do not have time or inclination to wash/dry, a bit of wax and finger scrunching produces a cute, sassy, fun look Bonus; Coming out of a 2 hour massage and facial, with a quick brush and scrunch, my hair (essential oils and all) was grocery store presentable! Andiamo; a chic urban salon in fabulous location (great excuse to shop, before or after). Noelle, the owner, is a darling; taking just one client at a time, the entire experience is relaxing and stress free. She does not try to sell or push unnecessary products or services. Noelle, Im looking forward to our next visit and excited to see your creativity at work :-)

I called Noelle last July when another salon bumped me from my Hollywood wax appointment three days before my vacation. Noelle squeezed me in same day. I immediately knew that Noelle was a well-trained and practiced wax technician by the way my first appointment went. She did a thorough and practically painless job and I was able to enjoy my vacation, hair-free. I have since gone back every month for a wax and have had a couple of haircuts. I used to skip trims and go over a year without a haircut because I hated the day-after haircut feeling, always thinking "when will this look normal again" or "it will grow out". As someone who does not blow dry or style my hair, I need a proper cut to do the work for me, and that is exactly what Noelle gives me. She takes off how much we discuss before, gives my perfect layers that fall effortlessly every time and keeps my morning routine and post-gym routine easy. Thanks Noelle, and I will see you next month (and every month to come)!

I was late for a hair cut and low lights. I was told that we didnt have enough time for lowlights and cut. I said I would come back because my experience with lowlights on gray is that it doesnt take very well and the color needs to stay in longer. "we have time to color" is what she said. I gulped and knew that was not the case but I endured. Sure enough color was applied and I was put under the dryer to speed up the color process. The next client came in while I was under the dryer. She stopped the dryer, checked the foils and said we were ready. Rinsed out the color and then asked how I blow dry my hair. I said usually up from my head. She started blowing my hair back to give me the onion head look. I said I prefer up. She said "You said back, now you want front? Upon examining my hair after it was dried, the color did not take to the roots of the gray. Then at the counter I was charged $135 and I was quoted $125 over the phone. NEVER AGAIN!
